Simon said "Well, you see, when i first came here, i wanted to go to the docks. So, its possible he went there. Some aliens like the sound of the ocean." Simon then said "Thats possibly where he is." Simon didn't have an earpiece in, so he didn't hear what Owen said.
Simon was feeling uneasy right now. The uneasiness of this being his first misson had finally hit him, like a punch in the gut. He said "I think our best bet is to check there. Or has Owen told you where he is?" He was guessing, due to Owen being able to check the CCTV.

The docks were the first place that he found were quiet enough for him to calm down once he stopped running. He had no idea how far he came or really cared about it. It was just quiet and away from everything. Daniel really didn’t care for the sound of the ocean. He rather feel the wind against his skin, being able to see everything around him. Getting away from it all and able to just close his eyes and feel that wind was what he loved. But in a pinch or with no other choice, the water was a good last resort.
His blue eyes looked up and around all the buildings, they were so high compared to what he was used to. Then it hit him, he could get to the top of one of them and look around without his sight being hinder by all the tall buildings… If he could some how tell the sighs he knew of then he could figure out how far he had escaped from Torchwood and where he could go. So Daniel took off from the docks, walking causally before he entered one of the buildings and climbed up the stairs.
Once on the roof, he smiles a little. The wind up here was much more than what it was down by the docks. However it made it all that colder and with rather thin clothing on, it was all that comfortable. Daniel walked out to one of the steel beams and stood there. He wasn’t worried about falling because he balance was good and plus he had well enough relaxes that he could catch himself before anything bad happened. A deep breath was taken and his eyes closed for a moment, just enjoying the feel of the wind against his skin. Then he took a moment to shut down all his other senses besides his sight to look around the area. He spotted the park where he had come from, it seemed so far away but it seemed like a good place to go back, maybe he could find away to get some money or some food.
After while, he moved down from the beam and made his exit from the building, heading back towards the docks so he could cut across some the area to make it back to the park quicker.

Jack touched his earpiece lightly and nodded in response to the information Owen gave him. He then turned to Simon, who had been explaining his theory, which, apparently, turned out to be correct.
"Yeah, come on," Jack said, starting to run in direction of the docks. Not wanting to waste time, he spoke while his feet pounded the pavement. "Apparently Daniel made his way to the docks a couple of minutes ago. If we're lucky, he'll still be there, or close, at least."
Jack tapped at his vortex manipulator, hoping that it was in the mood for scanning the area. Unfortunately, it let out a faint bleep bleep and died. No one in the local area knew how to fix vortex manipulators, so he had been working on it with Toshiko. So far, they had had no luck whatsoever. It would either bring up the wrong feature or die in a noisy, whirring mess.
Jack looked up. They were near the docks now.

Simon ran with Jack. He was panting, as he hadn't done that much exercise since he had joined Torchwood. He looked at Jack's vortex manipulator and said "You could use mine until you can fix yours, you know. Or, you could try taking the necessary parts from mine, and put them into yours." He stopped running to take a few deep breaths, and then he ran with Jack. He saw Daniel on the docks and he wheezed out "There he is."

Jack slowed to a halt, allowing Simon to catch up. Jack, nor the rest of his team, had had the motivation to give Simon an agility test yet, so it was only likely that the younger male would get tired easily. Some time in the near future, Simon would be running with the rest of the crew.
After a few seconds, Simon was panting at Jack's side. The former time agent, now captain, hardly got out of breath. Not only did his body regulate his respiration levels and blood flow, but his coat hid any hitches that his chest might give. All in all, he always remained cool, calm and collected. It was just one more way to scare the enemy.
"I couldn't take your vortex manipulator," Jack said, genuinely pleased by Simon's offer. "The parts are too precious... especially on this patch of old rock." He gestured wildly about him, waiting for a gut instinct to tell him if Daniel was near.
Soon, his colleague let out an explanation of "there he is" and Jack spun on his heel to face in that general direction.
"Now," Jack said, his tone professional and clipped, yet oddly warm. "We must remain friendly. He knows you, so you go first. Hide your weapon, palms out to him." Jack tucked his hands into his pockets. "Just two guys, looking to help a friend."
His heels clicked against the concrete of the sidewalk, probably alerting Daniel to their present, if their talking hadn't already done so. Jack just hoped the alien would be comfortable enough returning after Owen pulled a gun on him.

Simon nodded, and went forward, and walked towards Daniel. He said "Hi Daniel." Just in case Daniel was still freaked out, Simon put his palms in front of him, showing he wasn't going to hurt Daniel. He said "Daniel, sorry about what happened. Just, Owen, the guy with the gun, gets a little bit frustrated." Simon was trying to be careful not to say anything stupid.

Ooc; I'm not going to post until Daniel does. I don't want to flood him out of the roleplay and all.

ooc- sorry guys, I just got my computer back from the repair shop.
Daniel was getting ready to head out, to go back to the park where he tumbled into this universe when he had heard the familiar voice of Simon and then another voice, he could not to put his fingers on before they were even close enough to him. Running on a normal, with all five senses in play at once they were twice that of any human but when he could close down one or two, it would make the remaining even stronger. He turned slightly to look around and spotted them, which left him feeling a little cornered.
Behind was that body of water and where they were, it blocked him off from that. It left the other two areas open but he figured they would be armed. He didn’t have the fuel or energy in his body to make a speedy run for it, which would get him out of harms way. That left him with the choice of trying for it and sees what happens. Even if he got shot, his body would heal around the bullet but they would take a little longer to heal than a cut, he knew that much about himself.
By the time, Simon had come over to him… he was lost in his thoughts and trying to figure out what to do. Water wasn’t something he liked or even being wet. Being wet would mean, him being even colder. Right now he just wanted to be warm and some place safe away from Torchwood… Away from all of this… Why, couldn’t he have landed in the middle of nowhere? When the palms were held out to him like he was some kind of animal, he wondered how much he looked like a wild animal at the moment.
He stood there listening to what the other man was saying but only took a step back like he was getting ready to run. Maybe he could trick them out with thinking he would take off in one direction and then head in the other. There was no way he could run at the rate he did before but they didn’t know that.
”Shouldn’t have trusted you.. Torchwood is always the same, no matter what universe it is from. You may not be as advanced as the one that tortured me and held me in a cell for years afterwards but I can see that you are close enough.”
He said, basing all that on the way Owen reacted to when he first got in there and all things he had seen laying around, what looked like weapons to him.

Simon said "Daniel, we're different from that torchwood. I promise you we are different. Please, just meet our leader. His name is Jack Harkness. He can explain more about torchwood then i can." Simon felt like an idiot. Maybe Owen had been right. Simon pushed these thoughts away and said "Daniel, we just want to help. We won't harm you, i swear we won't."

Jack watched the stranger intently, noticing how frightened he appeared. Daniel almost seemed like a wild animal, approached by strange beings, about to be thrown in a cage. Oh, how Jack desperately wished he had the means to comfort him. He knew, personally, what it was like to land on a planet with no company or safety whatsoever. It was horrible and almost always induced a wave of homesickness.
Following slowly behind Simon, Jack adopted the same stance, except he was taller and just as confident as always. He didn't want to make himself look smaller and weaker. Daniel needed to know that, although they were willing to help, they were not going to take an attack laying down.
But despite the peculiar situation, Simon was coping very well. His behavior was almost enough for Jack to forgive him about bringing in an alien unannounced. Not quite, but close enough. When Simon mentioned him, Jack gave a little wave and grinned his award-winning grin. The grin that made everything better; the grin that had girls melting at the very sight; the grin that had saved Jack so many times.
"Hey there," he said, his voice friendly and warm, but still quite professional. He walked to Simon's side, placing a hand on his colleagues shoulder. "Captain Jack Harkness, leader of Torchwood 3 and renown savior of Earth. I can assure you there is no threat to you from myself and my team. I guess you could call us the middleman between humankind and the rest of the universe."
Although his rather short speech was not entirely true, Jack hoped that his charm would win Daniel over. His pheromones and famous smolder had even the straightest men crumbling at his feet.
"Trust me," he added, grinning brightly again. "Trust us."

Daniel couldn’t help being the way he was at the moment. Spending three years pretty much locked away from everything and everyone then being ripped from that and tossed into something like this, it was stressful and left him unsure of what really to do. His whole life, he never had freedom to do what he wanted, to be apart of the outside world. He was always just an object, a tool or the threat to everyone. And then there were these two where treating him like he wasn’t that. Simon was calling him by his first name…. something they had given him but it was better than what the other names were.
‘I promise you….’ That wasn’t something he knew or what it even was or meant. However from the tone, it sounded like something important. He had been looking at Simon confused by what he was saying with the promising. Then he spoke about Torchwood’s leader and glanced over at the other male that was there. It had to be that man. He doubted that a leader would sit back and stay back at the base when there was something like him running around. His eyes glanced back at Jack as he approached.
He could easily tell that Jack was a fighter more so than Simon. As he stood there, he didn’t keep the main focus of his sight on their heads and faces but farther down, watching their hands and feet. Those where more of a threat and the slightest movement of their feet would always give away what they were planning to do, it was what he had been trained to watch when they were teaching him hand to hand combat. Something he didn’t want to learn how to do and often got himself in trouble back then.
When glanced up, he seen that grin of Jack’s and it took him back a little. That grin seemed so familiar… like he had seen it before but he couldn’t place his fingers on at the moment. His eyes glanced over and watched where the other’s hand went and how it rested on Simon’s shoulder before looking back at the Captain. The man seemed kind of full of himself. Daniel was starting to relax as he stood there. Still not really sure what to think anymore not after all that the two said, even though he still wasn’t sure what a promise was.
Then came the words he didn’t want to hear about trusting him, them… A shake of his head was given. Trust wasn’t something he could give out anymore, not after everything. ”Can’t go to being locked back up again… I’m not a threat… not some science project anymore.” His head lowered slightly as a hand came up rub at his eyes.
”I don’t have any trust left to give. “ He flashed a grin that was pretty much an echo of the one that the Captain had flashed not long ago. Daniel dropped down to one knee, feeling too dizzy to stand and feeling to tired to keep this up anymore even though he needed to but his body wasn’t working with him.

Simon looked at Daniel in worry. The young man was obviously exhausted. Simon said "We won't lock you up, or dissect you, or anything dangerous." Simon had noticed that Daniel's grin was the same as Jack's grin. Both grins were flirtatious. Simon looked at Jack, then at Daniel. The young Invisiblate didn't know what to say now. He wanted to help Daniel, but he didn't know how.

Jack sighed. Torchwood 1 had done this to the universe. Yvonne and her team had left a sour taste in the mouths of everyone who even mentioned Torchwood - and there was no way for Jack to break the cycle. In his (rather long) lifetime, he could only hope to influence the closest solar systems into finding safety here on Earth, but he would never reach the further systems, the galaxies, the countless nebulae. Torchwood 1 had done the unrepairable.
But through all the bitterness, Daniel still seemed quite strong. He certainly spoke fluently and his body was anything other than deteriorating. What had Simon said? Something about healing abilities?
And that grin. Jack blinked slightly in surprise. That grin was like a million suns trying to get out. It was the grin he had perfected so many years ago, but Daniel had somehow captured and put it into his own face. It was definitely weaker than Jack's - a shadow of what it could be - but it was definitely the same grin.
"Come back with us," Jack said now, warmly and with no trace of professionalism. He shuffled forwards a step and dipped so that he was at Daniel's height. The boy seemed exhausted. "We won't put you in a cell. No harm will come to you, at all."
He turned to look at Simon briefly, wondering how this situation would be without him. So much different. Especially since Simon had influenced the need for rooms inside the Hub. Now, when the team caught a friendly alien, they could give them somewhere to stay that wasn't a dirty cell.

Even kneeled down, Daniel continued to watch the others. He wasn’t sure if he could really trust them or not. This wasn’t his universe… wasn’t the Torchwood he knew. Could he really risk his newfound freedom on this? He swallowed hard and glanced up at Simon when he spoke up again. ”You sure about that one? In my universe… I was suppose to be the elite soldier…” He said very quietly, hoping neither of them would catch on to what he was saying.
Daniel was starting to trust Simon and Jack, the more they talked but he really wasn’t too sure yet. So far they didn’t seem to be like anyone he had known. They hadn’t done anything that was hostile towards him yet. They were moving slowly to make sure that he was comfortable, something he wasn’t use to and he wasn’t sure how to hide that feeling. It was his body’s ability to heal that kept him going, just when he thought he couldn’t take it anymore, his body found away to bounce back from it.
But because of not eating in so many years, each time something happened to him… it would take a little longer for him to recover and more out of him when it did happen. It was one of the reasons why he was drained at the moment but he kept going because he was use to having no choice in stopping. When he had glanced back at Jack, he had seen a bit of surprise there and Daniel wasn’t sure why the other man was slightly surprised at something. Then he remembered the grin he had given and wondered if that was the reason behind it.
Then came the offer of going back with them and Jack had moved down to his level. Daniel glanced up at him with his ice blue eyes then lowered his head. ”I don’t belong in this place… I’m not sure what happened, but this isn’t the Earth I know. Everything seems so basic and your Torchwood is not really military like...” Daniel closed his eyes for a second, trying force back the memories and started to think about what Jack had just said and gave a nod of his head. After opening his eyes, he stood up slowly and looked at them.
”Okay… I’ll trust you.” He flashed a tired smile. Daniel just wanted out of the cold and right now they didn’t give him a reason not to trust them.
