Owen was staring a map he hanged up against a free space on the wall near the autopsy area. Tapping his digit against his chin, he had a beer in his right, and his arms are cross his chest. His eyes were studying the pattern of the thumb tacks on the city map of Cardiff. He pinned area where Fish head had appeared. The doctor was planning to get this little fish head himself.
Looking up at as Owen heard Simon calling for Jack and the annoyance could be seen in Owen’s eyes that Simon had done something stupid. Rolling his eyes, he uncrossed his arms, took a swig of his beer. He would need it to deal with Simon.
Looking up at Jack’s office, Owen was waiting for the Captain to handle the stupid boy. “Oi, the cat bought something from the---“ he cut himself off. Running up the stairs, Owen grabbed his gun from his desk, pointed it at Simon and the stranger. “Simon! You idiot you stupid idiot. Did I say that twice? I say it a third time in case you don’t comprehend. STUPID IDIOT!”
Looking at the other person, he held his gun at head point at the other. “Don’t move or I blow you head off your shoulders! Simon step away from him. JACK!” Owen called for Jack who was somewhere in Torchwood.

Right then and there, Simon nearly lost his temper completly, which would have caused him to go into a rage and beat owen up while invisible. He said "Owen, this guy fell through the rift. What the hell was i supposed to do?" Simon was clenching his fists in anger and he was barely refraining from going invisible. He then said "Besides. Last time i checked, i was brought here by gylfie, and that seemed a mistake."

There was no way Daniel would relax or get comfortable with this whole thing. To him, Torchwood was the bad guys… he didn’t get to see or meet the part of Torchwood that was suppose to be good, the ones that were in hiding… Where he had come from, they had tortured, question and left him in a cell for a couple of years. And top it all off, he really didn’t know who he was or where he had come from. All that he knew was he was some science project to create the perfect soldier.
Even though he tried to remind himself this wasn’t his reality those things could be different here, it didn’t help any. Every inch of his body was telling him to just take off, to break lose and run away. Then Daniel heard someone yelling and he had to bring his hands up to his ears, his senses still out of whack and he hadn’t had the time or chance to relax enough to bring his senses back into order. After a moment, he lowered his hands and looked at the dark hair man who was yelling and he was beyond scared to the point where his body was shaking.
Daniel swallowed hard as the other continued to tell and then when he seen the gun, he didn’t hear what the other said… He had turned around and started to run out of the hub. His speed was somewhat faster than a human because of the alien DNA in him but once he was outside, he had stopped short of the building and bent over, to catch his breath. He felt dizzy and weak at the moment, his body feeling drained. He was struggling to get the memories back of what Torchwood London had done to him, what had happened in his reality.
He had been chained up to a chair and tortured, cut… sliced, beaten among things to test him, to see how far Babylon had got with him. It had to the point of death before they stopped and brought him back, not wanted to test the whole immortality thing. Then they tossed him in a cell when they couldn’t get the answers they wanted from him. The yelling and the gun had brought back those memories and he felt like he was going to be sick. Daniel stood up slowly and leaned against a railing that was outside and closed his eyes, trying to get himself to calm down.

Jack was in his office, lulling over his computer keyboard. A blank screen shone brightly on his face. He was stalling, thinking of excuses to tell Gwen when she asked for his staff report. He couldn't be bothered writing about nothing. Nothing new had happened to his team for a few weeks. Their days were mostly spent working on old cases and keeping the local alien population out of mischief. Nothing exciting had happened.
He was in the middle of reminiscing about his last chase when he heard the cog door roll open. Out of habit, he straightened and crossed one leg over the other - his "I'm totally busy" look.
That'll be Gwen, he thought, opening one of Owen's old files. He allowed a look of complete concentration to fall across his features.
Alas, he was proven wrong, Simon's voice echoed through the hub, muffled by Jack's thick glass doors. With a sigh, Jack typed in one paragraph, hoping that it would pass as two hours work. He had strong doubts, but there was no harm in trying.
As he was about to stand, a second voice hit him. It was chiding, angry, loud and Owen. Had it not been for the various security cameras attached to one wall, Jack would not be able to see what all the commotion was about. It seemed that Simon had brought a stranger into the hub and was desperately sticking up for his actions. His new, ah, "friend" had turned tail and was escaping down the hall, disappearing through the tourist shop.
Unable to keep it in, Jack sighed and ran a hand through his tussled hair. Owen was always threatening the other males of the group, but this was getting out of hand. Jack made his way through the office door, down a small stairwell and to Owen's side.
"Owen," Jack said calmly, placing a hand over the gun's barrel and lowering it. "I reckon you reacted a tad bit harshly. This wouldn't be the first time this happened." He looked pointedly at Simon, not moving his gaze back to the doctor. "Bryan, Simon - heck, even Gylfie wandered in here on her first day."

Simon had clenched his fists several times, trying to calm down. If he didn't restrain his anger, he would probably attack owen. Simon then said "Jack, the guy i brought here was called daniel thompson. He fell through the rift. and, he cut himself somehow. I would haven't brought him here.
Simon then took a deep breath and then continued "I saw his gash heal right up. It healed fully. In a few minutes. I just thought it would be important to bring him here." Simon then glared at owen and said "But, some gun happy jerk scared the traumatized guy. Yes owen, just in case your wondering, thats you!" Simon was barely refraining his anger now.

“Yea,” replied Owen. “So far we have been lucky, Jack. One day these newbies will bring in something we can’t handle. You wake up from dying and find us all in pools of blood.” He let go of his gun, so Jack had the barrel in his hand.
“So?” he said looking at Simon. “Why are you not yelling at idiot there?” He asking Jack but he looked at the youngster. “Did you see how fast he moved? And you said he healed fast? Great…we have a X-Man type rift refuge….hybrid Wolverine/Quick Silver character.”
But, some gun happy jerk scared the traumatized guy. Yes owen, just in case your wondering, thats you!
Owen swore, “Oh go invisible!” he yelled at Simon.
Angry as he was, the doctor knew Torchwood had work. “You’re not expecting us to go out there without our guns to go after hybrid Wolverine/Quick Silver?” Asked Owen looking agitated at Jack.

Simon lost it and roared "OWEN HARPER, I'M SICK OF YOUR BULL! EVERYDAY, YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE I SHOULD JUST DIE! IF IT WASN'T FOR THE FACT THAT YOUR OUR DOCTOR, I'D HAVE KILLED YOU BY NOW!" He then glared at owen and said "If we were on my home planet, you'd be dead by now." He then said to Jack "Sorry. Just, i dislike all of the teasing." He sighed and said "Is there any thing i can do? Other than go after him."

The fresh air was helping but his head was still hurting him, felt like there was something pounding on his head. But at least things stop spinning and he was starting to calm down. Though he knew he was still to close for comfort… that man with the gun remind him of someone he rather forget and knew there was no way that this universe could have the same person, it wasn’t possible was it? He shook those thoughts away and glanced around for a moment, wondering what he should do now.
After all it looked like he either escaped from the mental ward, a hospital or even prison with just the scrubs on and tennis shoes. Maybe he should roam off and find some place where he could get clothes from after all he didn’t want to steal though. He wondered how he could get money, maybe some random job but even then it was doing that, that proved the challenge. Daniel took a deep breath and moved down by the docks and sat down on the edge of one.
The sound of the water splashing up against the wood support beams was relaxing in a way. His blue eyes looked around slowly, there were a few people out and moving around the centre but he was still very much alone in all of this. It was better than having a gun pointed at him and all the yelling. He doubted that they would stop looking for him now that they new he was slightly faster and could heal. There was no way he was getting locked back in a cell again, he would find some way to live out here until he could figure out something else.
He pulled his knees up to his chest and wrapped his arms around them before resting his head upon the top of his knees. Now that he was getting settled and relaxing a bit more, he was starting to feel how chilly it was out here. He glanced up and noticed a few snowflakes falling from the sky. That is when he settled on to the idea people were thinking of him as the escape metal ward person after all he was sitting on the snow dock and near the freezing water below the dock but it was the first time he felt like he could really relax and calm down.

Jack watched the two bickering. They were almost like children in their behavior, but the presence of weapons and facial hair ruined the illusion. Nevertheless, they must be treated like children, punished and disciplined. Jack nodded his head firmly, not agreeing to one or the other - in fact, ignoring both of them - but instead confirming his next path of action.
He lowered his hand and the gun, slipping it into one of his empty holsters. A silence descended on the group, Jack daring his team members to speak.
"The both of you," he began, "are acting ridiculously."
Turning to Owen, he cocked an eyebrow. The doctor was always in a sour mood, but ever since his obsession with finding the fish alien, he had become even more agitated.
"Owen, you'll apologize, but later, not now. Simon's right. You do seem to be teasing him a fair bit and although I endorse teasing, you're doing it wrong." A cheeky grin appeared on his face and he pushed Owen's shoulder playfully. Jack's rowdy nature always shone through in his disciplines, but although he found Owen physically attractive, he would never push anything further sexuality-wise. "Treat others as you'd like to be treated and all that nonsense."
He spun, almost in a pirouette fashion, and faced Simon. "Simon, I understand you're trying to fit in, and, as we've already discussed, you are an important part of this team." He cleared his throat. "This does not mean that you can bring randoms into the hub! If he's alien - which he obviously is - then I'll understand, but, next time, call in advance. Please."
He looked at both of the men for a fraction of a second and then moved down the stairwell, almost skipping. With that speed, the alien would be at least a mile away now, especially if he was running as fast as possible. If they were lucky, the city would overwhelm him and he'd still be in the local area.
"Simon, come and help me find him," Jack called over his shoulder. He pushed a button and the cog door began to roll open. "You can help too, if you want, Owen, though I think it'd be best if you stay here."

Simon pulled his hood up, and pulled out the sonic screwdriver the professor had given him. It had been acting up a bit lately, though it was still a bit reliable. He said "This is my first mission technically." He smiled and put the screwdriver in his jean leg pocket, and it wasn't sticking out. He said "And next time, i will call in advance." He rubbed his palms together and said "Ok Jack, i am ready."

Jack had a way disarming the negative with his stupid jokes. The medical doctor gave Jack a quick witty smile to show he got the joke. Staring at the newbie, “Yea don’t go losing your head,” he said to the new kid of the block. It was exciting to go after an alien but this was Simon’s catch. The MD Doctor did not want to be near the kid.
“Yea, I prepare the gunnery for casualties,” the man said walking away. To be honest, Owen was acting like a kid because he was terriritorial because more people show less attention Owen had go away from Jack. It was like sharing a father that he had never had before. And that was how Jack was like but as a friend too. So, Owen really did not want to share.

Jack nodded in approval at Simon and gestured for him to follow. However, he did not move, waiting for Owen's response first.
He received a smile, which he returned in an almost grateful manner, and a predictable sarcastic remark. There was no point in feeding Owen's snark. Instead, Jack just rolled his eyes and began walking off down the badly lit corridor, calling over his shoulder quickly.
"If anything, you'll only be preparing one, Owen," his voice bounced down the hall, echoing slightly.
Once he knew they had disappeared from view - and the cog door had rolled shut - he began assessing the situation. Jack knew very little of this "alien". The boy didn't appear to be anything less than human, but his speed and behavior certainly made him something worth studying. If he had any secrets - perhaps a training regime or a magic potion of some sort - then his knowledge could be useful.
"What do you know about him?" He said out loud, not aiming the question directly at Simon, but, seeing as he was the only other person in the hall, it was obvious he was expected to answer.

Simon said "Well, not a lot. I know his name is Daniel Thompson. He fell through the rift, and he isn't wearing clothes from here. He also heals at an accelerated rate from what i saw" Simon then cleared his throat and said "And, Jack, he looked like you a bit." Simon was feeling oddly at ease. Even though this was his first mission, he was calm, and not that nervous. He looked around and said "Any idea where he's gone jack?"

As Daniel sat on the dock and stared at the water, he couldn’t help but to wonder what was going to become of him now. First the first time, he felt truly lost and wasn’t sure where to go or what to do. All those years being locked away, treated like a science project and torture… he never once learned how to take care of him outside in the real world. Being around people wasn’t a problem thanks to his days in Babylon before they locked him away to be forgot about. It was just this place was so different from his reality, universe…
This place was quiet and away from everything else, the sound of the water below was relaxing. It helped me to relax and get calm so he could think better. He knew it wasn’t safe here, he knew that Torchwood would soon be after him. Maybe his speed threw them off and made them think that he would go farther than what he did. Either way, Daniel needed to move fast. To think and be one step ahead of the group after him and plus it was starting to get too cold for his liking.
Daniel stood up, feeling a bit light headed. His hand came up and he rested his head in for a moment before looking around. First off was to get some food or something into his stomach… He couldn’t recall the last time he had anything to eat and he couldn’t keep running like he had without something to eat. It would leave weaker then he was feeling at the moment. Babylon was suppose to work on improving his strength in the area of his speed and make it so he could keep at top speed while running for longer but Torchwood One put a end to that and then he was locked away in a cell with no much room to move around.
Now after whatever happened, he was in this place and time with a new Torchwood after him and he was lost and confused.. It didn’t help matters any. A deep sigh was giving before walked off the dock and stood at the end of the street wondering which way to go.

Jack could sense Simon's unease as he mentioned Jack's and Daniel's likeliness. The monitors in the Captain's office had done the other man no justice, but from what Simon was explaining, appearance was not the only thing they had in common. If Daniel could heal at an accelerated pace, then that made him a threat in many ways.
"Looks like me?" Jack said, not letting on that he was worried. "Must be a handsome fellow."
They arrived in the tourist office. Jack continued, leading the way through the front door. The temperature difference was amazing. From the cozy warmth of the office to the frigid air outside. It wasn't the dead of winter, but it wasn't spring or summer either. Autumn - or fall as many people call it - had just descended and the weather had not made up its mind on whether it was raining, overcast or clear. The temperature was in limbo, cold enough to nip at the skin, while warm enough for one to walk without wearing a coat.
Jack scanned the area quickly, taking note of a few wandering shadows here and there. He knew none of them would be the alien. A cat chasing a rat, a few rebellious teens, the occasional "woman of the night" - no Daniel Thompson to be seen.
"I don't know where he is," Jack admitted, beginning to walk again at an average pace. He reached the end of the walkway and started up the stairs. "If I were a young alien, lost and confused, where would I go? Probably the place where I arrived, but, no, he wouldn't go there again."
Jack closed his eyes, his pace steady although he could no longer see. Where would he go if he was a young, lost alien? As far away as possible would be the logical term, but Simon had mentioned the aliens ability to heal. This would make him more confident. No, he would be close by, possibly curious.
They arrived in front of the Millennium Centre. Jack couldn't see anymore people.
"Where do you think he went?"
Who knew? Maybe this could be the perfect test for Simon! He wanted to be part of the team, but he still had a long way to go before he would be allowed on real missions. The only reason Jack had allowed him to come on this one was because he brought the alien in and he knew him better. Jack would have happily put up with Owen's whines otherwise.
