Eight is right -- we don't allow "mature" rping here -- which means anything that would be given a "mature rating" isn't allowed to be rped out. No extreme gory details, no sexual scenes, etc.

PG-13 is the highest rating that can be rped here.

Also, swearing is against our rules. You can make up a swear word to use for your characters.

Please also note that not only does mature rping go against our site rules, but also it goes against Proboards TOS. Our board can be shut down and deleted if we have mature rping going on here.

This is not a "new rule" - it has always been a part of the ProBoards Terms of Service, and is now clearly outlined in the Community Guidelines as well.

Since there has been some argument that the rules "have been changed" recently regarding forum content, and many edits I've seen on people's sites have started saying that it's "suddenly" this way, HERE is a link to a cached version of the old TOS. Please note that it is from 2005, though the last edit was in 2002. Pay specific attention to Section 3, Subsection B.

"User's web site may not contain content promoting the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, nudity, or any other form of adult content, profanity, hate, "spam," fraud, racism, mlm, pyramid schemes, or promote any illegal activity."



The revised ProBoards Terms of Service states the same, just in different words. [added 06.12.10].

Threads marked as "M", "Mature", "R", "NC-17," etc. as well as boards/subboards/hidden boards/password-protected boards for this sort of content still count as violations. The terms apply to any content currently on your forum, regardless of where it is posted, and disclaimers of any type do not negate its effects.

Since the recent rule changes to this board, specifically, all forums advertised here in Your Board: Advertise are now actively being reviewed by Support forum moderators, and are being reported to ProBoards, Inc. as necessary. Please make any appropriate and necessary changes to your forums.

Update 05.09.2010: This does include PMs as well -- ALL content must be PG-13.

Update 06.09.2010: We are now also locking advertisements for sites that -whilst they may not have threads up yet- specifically allow this sort of contents in their rules threads.

No "mature themes" here, at least not what Hollywood means. The Rebirth thread will be going to some dark places at times, though. But I'll keep it PG-13 dark.

I'll also go and make sure to edit the thread for language. I'd missed the rule about profanity, and I believe a few words slipped through.

Other than the profanity, is there anything else I should modify in Reborn? The violence is brutal, but I don't think I made it too graphic.

Oh we can have violence here, we just don't need to get into complete details:) A simple 'he threw him against the wall and the body slid down, red darkening the bricks behind it.' is fine but a description that tells where each little body part landed and in what condition might be overkill;) Darkness is, of course, not bad as the Doctor just can't seem to avoid it no matter where he goes! It's not all fawns and flowers in the universe after all

Swearing could be donce as simply as saying 'She swore a blue streak as she ran him through' without saying exactly what was said. Sometimes allowing the reader to fill in the blank spots can be very effective!

So yeah, such things can be done without cramping the rules or causing queasiness among the members;)

No, none unless wanted. If you want a history between them though, it shouldn't be too difficult to set up. I think they should know of each other, but that would be about it.

Nah, no real need to have a history. I was just curious if you had anything in mind, so I could react appropriately.

Just bear in mind that, when you meet the Master, he's biologically human with the mind of at Time Lord. That should be good for a reaction or two.
