That's right, ladies and gentlemen! ROLL UP, ROLL UP to see the splendor. Sort of.
What do you guys think? Any tips?

It does look like him, very good! I wish I could draw people. Animals I have no problem with but people? Forget it:P Was this on a paint program?

Thank you so much for the kind words. c:
I have no problem with drawing people or animals, but when I need to draw something realistic (or male), then everything goes messy. I'm quite proud of this piece, because I combated both of these faults. Proud indeed.
Yes, I used GIMP2. You can download it for free by Google-ing it. It's similar to Photoshop, but it's more difficult to use.

wow, I'm impressed. I can draw chibis really well, but not actual people...well, who knows I might be able to if I practiced really hard. Annnywayss! I think you got his likeness wonderfully. What I would work on, though, is the shakiness of your lines. Are you drawing with a mouse/trackpad or Wacom tablet? If with a mouse/trackpad, a trick to do is after you draw the shaky lines (though i don't know if this works on GIMP) is to slowly go over them click by click using *click* one place, hold shift down, and *click* another place. It will form a straight line. If that won't work another technique would be to make the line you're drawing thicker, draw over the thin shaky line you have, then take the eraser and slowly erase to make them smooth. I have couple other tricks, but those are for photoshop and I don't think they translate to GIMP.
In any case, good job!

Thank you for the compliments! c:
Practicing is definitely the key to everything. I've been drawing (properly) since I was about eight years old. I wanted to draw my friends as a rock band. The picture rocked - excuse the pun. I've been drawing ever since.
I use my laptop mouse (the touch-pad). To be honest, I'm still not very used to it. I've had my laptop for a year now, but my projects are starting to be more complicated. For this picture, I realized the lines were shaky, but I was focusing more on the point of making the picture look like Matt Smith. As I mentioned previously, guys aren't my biggest strong point, so when I realized it might actually end up looking like him, I got a bit... excited.
I'll try that shift-click thing on my next picture. I plan on drawing Ten next.
As for the "thicker lines and then erase to make smaller, neater lines" trick. I already do that. c; I use it primarily on my drawings' face, so that I can get the shape better. It has always been a useful little trick, so thank you for bringing that up.

I exalted you, Elizabeth, due to the in-depth critique.
I can't believe that was your first karma point! Oh well, Sage will have to wait for another hour, eh? c:

Wow. That's an amazing drawing considering you used a laptop touchpad! I'd never be able to manage that.

Thank you muchly! c:
I've always been able to make-do with what I have. I started with my hands, moved to computer mouse and now I'm using a touchpad. I draw better by hand, of course.
I was saving up for a tablet for quite a bit, but now I'm saving for the Torchwood DVDs. D: One of my guy friends said he'd by a tablet for me.
But hurr. Thank you again!
