Gylfie Murdoch is an original character!
Name: Known as Gylfie Murdoch, though many speculate that that may not be her real name.
Age: Gylfie is twenty years old. Her birthday falls on the second of September... every year.
Gender: She's female.
--------------------
Species: She's all human.
Her mother begs to differ. According to Mrs Agatha Murdoch, she had a small affair with an alien and Gylfie was conceived. Don't worry, though! Mrs Murdoch has always been a bit loony.
Planet of Origin: There's no place like Earth!
--------------------
Occupation: Before joining Torchwood, Gylfie worked as a horse trainer for the police. She met the Captain of her local Torchwood unit by accident and soon fell into a habit of following them on their missions. After a few years, she was employed as the team's international voice and personal assistant. She still visits the stables occasionally.
Gylfie will occasionally get exchanged to other Torchwood units when they are in need of help, but most of the time, she remains in Australia.
(Basically, she's the Ianto Jones of her team.)
--------------------
Appearance:

Traditional beauty is not the first thing that comes to mind when people see Gylfie. She has a sweet face, a beautiful smile and bright brown eyes, but her jawline is masculine, her nose too long and her eyebrows too thick. Perfection is indeed in the eye of the beholder.
Her body, on the other hand, is thin and heavenly. She has all the right curves in all the right places, but is often too busy or shy to show off.
By nature, Gylfie is a conservative girl. Very rarely will she show skin or step out of her skirts and collared blouses. Her wardrobe consists strictly of light cotton dresses, jeans, plaid and lace. She grew up as a farmhand, working with horses. This upbringing gives her a sense of comfort when she wears a boots-denim-plaid combination.
Personality: Gylfie is often considered to be a little drop of sunshine.
The Smile --
Despite being a frustratingly formal know-it-all, she is able to smile and relieve herself of stress. More often than not, she can be found around her Torchwood unit, poking fun at her team mates and cleaning up their mess. With a bit of prodding, she can actually border sarcasm. Her friends all agree that there's a vague bubbliness about her that is contagious in most situations.
The Mother --
Like many in her position, Gylfie has been known to help others so much that she forgets about her own well-being. She has a maternal side that aids in her work, but it can also hinder her in her travels because she will worry about her team when she is away. When away from her home, she tends to get a bit paranoid unless otherwise distracted.
The Flirt --
The proximity she has with her team mates is rather personal. She is close to each Torchwood Australia member, having spent intimate moments with them. Flirts and jeers around the Torchwood Australia hub are not uncommon, nor are the occasional pecks and gropes. According to the team, they don't get enough time to satisfy their needs, so they take it out on each other! History:Gylfie was born to Agatha Murdoch and unknown on the second of September, 1990. For as long as she can remember, Gylfie lived in rural Australia. She thrived off of the sun-soaked land and the friendly locals. It was a shock when her mother announced a sudden change to the suburbs, but it was inevitable - Gylfie needed to start school. The academic aspects of school were easy for the young girl to adapt to, but socializing among the locals proved more difficult. She was used to the tight-knit community of farmers and the small tanned boys who lived down by the stream. Here, there were an abundance of friends and each one was busy with grown-up tasks. They did not want to play and explore like Gylfie. As she grew older, Gylfie fell into a regular routine. She began to fit the urban skin that her crazy mother had given her, but she still longed for the comfort of dirt beneath her feat and flies trying to crawl into her nose. By the time she turned fourteen, she was so desperate that she went to find work with a horse trainer. Luckily, there was one near-by. For almost two years, she worked at the ranch, helping police officers onto their horses and arming the great beasts with useless saddles and bits. The work was wonderful and she truly enjoyed training, but it didn't seem adventurous enough - and her academics were going to waste! As if by call, the Captain arrived. He claimed to be a police officer, but Gylfie had doubts. After a few failed attempts at asking for ID, she took him around to see the horses. They did not interest him. Instead, he walked straight towards a strange piece of equipment that had appeared on the farm three weeks earlier. Before her very eyes, Gylfie watched as this strange man opened the main capsule and pulled out a cowering creature. It was unlike anything she had ever seen! Absolutely spectacular! She asked what it was, but she received no answer. For three years after that, she continued following the Torchwood team, asking for consolation. Eventually, they listened to what she had to offer and explained the procedures. Gylfie has currently being working as the team's international voice for a year and a bit now. In that time, she has traveled through Europe and Africa, killed an alien, kissed each of her team mates, met someone from the future and seen three thousand innocent human beings die. Most of the time, her job is unbearable, but she returns simply because she must. Without Gylfie, her team would be left without food and supplements, they would become unorganized and, worst of all, they would forget to feed their wards, the different species held within the Torchwood Australia cells. -------------------- Additional medical information:None -------------------- Other:Although she officially works with Torchwood, Gylfie stills visits the stables often. She owns two horses there, but the owners of the farm lease them out. Her horses are Woody and Jessie. She lives alone in a small apartment, as do most of the other Torchwood Australia members. She tries to keep as close to the base as possible, so she is situated just inside the city borders. Although she would never admit it, she falls in love quite easily. It's hard for her to let go, but she copes.

I live in NSW, and you live in VIC, I guess?

Yes indeed! Victoria's gorgeous, though the weather here is extremely irritating. We often experience both sides of the weather spectrum multiple times each day. I use my home as a character base, because I know the areas and information. It's easier to write for something if you know what you're writing about.
But I've never been to New South Wales before. I flew over it on my way up to the Gold Coast, but I'd love to drive through. I want to see the mountain ranges!

Oh, thank you!
I'm almost ready to post now. I just need to establish some relationships with the other Torchwood members.

I'll be rewriting Gylfie's personality.
My characters tend to choose themselves as I roleplay them. She's proven to be a bit tougher than I make her out to be. She also has a hard time trusting those that appear to be alien, apparently. Either way, these traits will make her much more enjoyable to write for in the future.
