I just got through watching this special about the most haunted places in America and one of the segments featured the Winchester Mystery house in San Jose. I've been to that place myself several years ago and it just struck me what a great place for the Doctor to visit! Of course it would be during the building years, I'd say between 1910 and 1920. (Mrs Winchester passed away on 1922.)
Anybody want to join in and see just what possessed Mrs Winchester to build the crazy place?

I think the story would be best set in 1910. In this year the San Fransisco Earthquake had been 4 years prior so the area would have started to repair the damage. Also an entire wing of the Winchester House would have been sealed off and un-used, (Mrs. Winchester ordered it closed off after the earthquake, taking it as a sign the spirits were displeased with it) making it a convient place to have the TRADIS land un-noticed:) Plus it would be 12 years before the rifle heiress passed away.
I think Charley would make a good companion for this adventure but anyone would do. I think what would happen here is they could explore just what could be behind all the mysteries at Winchester. Or was it really ghosts that ordered her to make those strange plans? Fun in the having!!

What with all the building going on 24-7, Tyler could get a job there, even as a bricklayer A little more research shows the 1910 event in San Jose, an Aviation Meet/ Rose Carnival!! Tyler could be a pilot:) The Doctor could plan to show Charley some other aviation she could be interested in writing about, or the Rose Carnival and accidently materialized in the Winchester House by accident (as usual:) )

I want in on this one, if you don't mind. :ooks like fun! Love haunted houses. ♥ I think I'd want both of the Time Lords on this account in this story, but I'm not quite sure if it would work. I have an idea of how they could be involved... From Wiki: "Due to the lack of a master plan and constant construction, the house became very large and quite complex; many of the serving staff needed a map to navigate the house."I was think of the idea that The Mentalist could be some kind of butler and The Psychologist a serving girl. (Though they wouldn't be married, just friends.) Just a thought though and if anyone has any ideas, please share.

Yes, haunted houses! Count me in on this one, although I think I might chameleon arch The General, I've always wanted to see a chameleon arched General. Maybe I could be a bricklayer? Although being a butler sounds cool, there is so many possibilities... *scheming face*
Edit: TARDIS gone wrong.....hmmm....

Yeah, that description does sound like it!
As for the General, two Time Lord butlers would be quite fun. 3 Time Lord serving staff, how fun! XD Still, a bricklayer is good too, keep Tyler company.
I really like this idea, I've looked into the house more and the cemetery William Wirt Winchester (Sarah's husband) was buried in. From the pictures I've seen, both the house itself and the cemetery are beautiful. Actually, I've looked into William a little more and I think I know exactly how to get The Mentalist involved, if this idea is still going...
As I say, this is a good idea, I hope people still want it to go ahead.

Ok then! Today's the day! I shall create the thread 'The Mystery of the Mystery House'!
(Hmm, rather corny title. Makes me think the Doctor should be driving a psycedelic mini-van with a big talking dog in the back! Zoiks!!)
Anyway, Charley has already met the Doctor from the R101 airship in the CD Storm Warning so I think she should be present from the start. Also the character of Mrs Sarah Winchester could best be played as a free character even though it would be fine with me if someone decided to take the role themselves.
So I shall begin:) Let's have some mysterious fun!

id like to get in on this too please. perhaps my character could visit it and find a door that takes him back in time. after all there is this whole entire part of the house that existed before the 1907 earthquake.
or step threw a door that leads to a whole other wing that exsist in another dimention. like the door to nowhere can lead you there with the right key.
