Sometimes, as I' m typing along, my computer decides to type in all caps, even though the caps lock isn't on. My computer acts like I'm holding down the shift key.
I looked this problem up on google, as I've been getting the problem a lot more with my keyboard problems.
What happens is all the letters will be in uppercase unless I turn on caps lock. I suppose if I held down one of the shift keys and made a letter, it would do the same thing. Anyway, it thinks I'm holding down the shift key, making a plus sign instead of equal, " instead of just ', highlights any text if I try to go do something to something I've already written, opens a new window if I click on anything in a web browser, etc.
And no, the sticky keys are not on when this happens.
The problem usually goes away as I just type normally. Still, w/ the keyboard problems I wanted to see if I could figure the specific cause and solution out.
The only answer that has proved semi useful was one that referred to what happened as inverted caps lock. The person said that windows allows caps lock to toggle, and that if I type something that Windows thinks should be opposite of what it is, it will toggle it. Like if I type in a person's name with a lower case first letter and the rest of the name in caps, it will want to correct it by toggling the caps lock.
Not entirely sure that that was the cause of how this problem always happens for me, but the solution given works.
The solution they gave was to type normally in a program ....like the name thing again, and it will toggle it back once I hit the space bar. That would be why it always switched back for me when I just start typing as I normally would.
I still think there is SOME CASE IN POINT>>>JUST HAPPENED TO ME> I LIKE David Tennant. It switched back by the time I typed a there. A was lowercase. That means that's not exactly what happens, but it is close.
Anyway, I still feel that something else activates it, and I'm thinking it has to do with the shift key...but not sticky keys. I wrote some normally above....so not sure what caused it unless my shift key acted up somehow.
