Character Sheet
Original
Name: Issildia Nevar
Age: Unknown to Issildia, Torchwood File states that she is 28 years of age.
Species: Issildia is a composite race that has been engineered specifically by Torchwood to hunt down and capture the Doctor. Picking and choosing the Institute choose several different species to weave into their experiment in order to bring out certain traits that would make the female humanoid a polished weapon capable of both superior combat skills and the ability to perform feats of deception useful in toying with the Doctor.
Human Genetics: The base of Issildia’s genes are human, yet the Institute did indeed scavenge from the best traits of humanity to select out favorable genotypes and phenotypes to enhance her physical strength and speed along with attuning her reflexes to make her body more favorable for combat. The Human part of Issildia forms the foundation of her genetic make-up as many of her outwardly physical traits are gleaned from this side of her genetic composition.
Time Lord Genetics: The second part of this female humanoids cellular make up is gleaned from a Time Lord DNA sample. There is a great deal of history woven into the acquisition of this genetic sample as it originated from the Doctor himself.
It was during the manifestation of Torchwood in Cardiff that the severed hand of the Doctor appears in history. It was before this point in time that the incarnation of Torchwood at Canary Wharf was in existence. More importantly, after the fall of Torchwood after the invasion of the Cybermen that the Institute appeared to fall silent until it was resurrected by Captain Jack Harkness. Yet as with all things, nothing is ever completely gone...if it can be remembered.
A small sect of individuals surviving the fall of Torchwood at Canary Wharf remained, hidden in the shadows, forgotten to the dusty pages of time. Yet all the same, they indeed remained…concealed and forgotten.
It was this diminutive organization that eventually slipped into the Cardiff complex, with the intent to steal back the glory that had been taken from them. It was here that a DNA sample was stolen from the preserved hand of the Doctor, along with a few other pieces of alien scrap they managed to pilfer. Whether or not Captain Jack Harkness ever knew of the break in is a mystery; but this is where the DNA of the Doctor fell into the wrong hands.
Generation to generation this tiny insignificant sect of the previous Torchwood endured until it went off world after the Earth burned and New Earth came into existence. This is where Issildia’s own tale begins, and the DNA of the Time Lord she now pursues is woven into her own biology.
Spiridon Genetics: This particular DNA sample also has a lengthy history, as it was at one time scavenged from a Dalek station in the outer rim. It had been well established that for some time the Dalek species had enslaved the Spridon race in order to experiment on these humanoids in search of a way to adapt their naturally occurring invisibility to Dalek biology. Eventually this little space station out in the dismal obscurity of space came upon that elusive discovery. Yet the Dalek race would never get their hands on this particular blood sample proving that bioengineering the Spiridon invisibility was quite possible. The station would later be raided by some unknown aggressor, and the blood sample carted off to the black market. In time the sample would come into Torchwood’s waiting hands where it would be studied and reproduced, until it was applied directly to human genetic engineering.
Dalek Genetics: Throughout the centuries that Torchwood had been in continual contact with the Dalek species DNA samples were not hard to come by. The intention of placing Dalek genes in Issildia was to remove need for any outright emotions emerging in the female humanoid that could potentially conflict with her purpose.
Planet of Origin: New Earth
Occupation: (New Earth) Torchwood Huntress
Physical Description: Issildia’s most startling physical aspect are her vivid cerulean eyes that outwardly mark her as something more than simply human. Framing her tapered facial features is a lengthy swath of ebony tresses that reach easily to the summit of her shoulder blades. Her skin is a warm olive hue as she is neither pallid nor heavily tan.
Her wardrobe normally consists of a form fitting body suit that is comprised of many components. Firstly there is a simple leather tunic beneath a rather elaborate top composed of several overlapping sections of some sort of artificial fabric. The material is of a medium thickness and does not give to the touch. It feels vaguely like some sort of faux hide that has been dyed a muted obsidian. The objective of the garment is to deter damage from energy based weapons as the fibers it consists of are designed to spread out the force over the entire surface area of the suit instead of allowing the energy to punch straight through a specific area where it could damage her vital organs. A similar material is used to create the pants she regularly dons which serves a similar purpose.
Laid over her shoulders is a simple leather coat that dances idly about her ankles. The garment is straight-forward and functional with an ample number of inner pockets. Also the coat serves to hide the array of elegant weaponry attached to the belt at her hip. Several A/M (Anti-matter) devices hang along her thighs. These weapons are designed in the shape of bladed crescents that could easily serve as thrown projectiles if it were not for their anti-matter cores that react where activated. These devices are designed to be thrown and to violently explode, either as a means of escape or to cause outright damage.
An S-Class Ion Core Saber hangs leisurely at her hip. The blade is made of a bright silvery metal with a white hot sheen rippling over its smooth surface. It indeed resembles a sword from the distant days of humanity, save for the fact that it radiates faintly with a sharp incandescence. The S-Class Ion Core blades are designed to create a controllable aura of heat about the core of the blade. This allowed the blade to be used superbly in combat and to even cut through dense materials such as certain metals and other common building materials. Though let it be noted that the Ion Core can be burned out if the highest setting of heat output is used for too long. If this happens the blade can be repaired either with a replacement core or the original core needs to be recharged and its internal circuitry replaced if any damage was done.
*Note* At her wrist resides a vortex manipulator, the item bought off the black market by Torchwood some time ago. Ever since the device was purchased Issildia has been relentlessly trained in the application of time travel and steeling herself for the physical effects of using the manipulator.
Personality: Due to the contribution of her engineered Dalek genetics, Issildia shows very little emotion at all. Little is known about her internal thoughts, as she has never spoken of such trivial things to her care takers, but as far as Torchwood is concerned, she is the perfect impassive weapon. Rage is the only emotion that has been outwardly studied in this particular female humanoid as a result again of her Dalek inheritance.
Internally, Issildia is a completely different matter though again her persona is greatly muted due to both the heavy Torchwood conditioning and her genetic makeup. Her handler Rorek has often suggested the possibility of conflict inside the Institute’s prized experiment. But all of his observations have fallen on deaf ears even when he suggests that the commonly dominant Time Lord genes have appeared to be growing in authority over the rest of the subject’s biology. Emotions as dangerous as that of regret and melancholy towards her own purpose have begun to rise into prominence within the experiment’s mind. Though an artist in the ways of violence, the subject has shown no love of her art and carries out orders with little open satisfaction for her success.
History: Issildia Nevar was born Subject-2-563, her name was granted by her childhood Caretaker Elina Nerfarias, after a character torn from the pages from a story book. The nursemaid had insisted on giving the child a name other than Subject 2-563, hoping that perhaps with a real name, the little thing would cling a bit more to her humanity which surely Torchwood would attempt to strip away.
Early on, before she even began to walk that sapphire eyed child was set directly into a strict schedule of conditioning and early training. As she grew the conditioning increased as she was schooled the various ways deception and combat preparing her for when her purpose would be realized in the approaching future. She would need all of these skills if she was to deceive the Doctor into walking straight into Torchwood with his spectacular machine, both ripe for capture. If deception did not succeed, they had of course enacted preparations for their Plan B, which resided in the supposition that the Doctor could be forcibly brought to the Institute by their little pet experiment.
This trend of rigorous training and behavioral condition has continued now up until Issildia has matured into a young woman. The time has arrived for this composite humanoid to realize her function; to capture the Doctor and his magnificent TARDIS and drag them both to the steps of the Torchwood Institute.
To long has the Doctor kept his knowledge and technology to himself, to long has he been superior to the human race…times are changing, and the hunt is on...
