Is there a Companion that makes you seethe inside? That every appearence makes you long to grab them by the throat and heave them out of the TARDIS so you can take their place? How did THEY get chosen anyway?  What was the Doctor thinking? ? Anyways, my nomination for Worst Companion is: Samantha Jones. Thankfully she never appeared in any shows, only in the books but that was quite enough!!! Oh she was just sooo smart (think Mary Sue!!!) and the writers had her pushing her vegetarian lifestyle almost at every turn! From having the Doctor also be vegetarian (I bet he went back to his old diet after she left!) and her making 'Meat is Murder' t-shirts. (Please note that I have nothing whatsoever against vegetarians. After all, the more veggie-eaters out there, the more meat for me!  ) It got to the point I wasn't enjoying the books anymore and just stopped buying them until she was written out. I don't know what happened to her but I take great personal pleasure in imagining her having to sling burgers on some alien planet to make a living. It would so serve her right!!!! i hate sam jones  |

LOL....you all know how much I hate River Song..... The Eleven episodes were worse than that Library episode...she was annoying in that one...but not nearly as bad as she got with Eleven, "Hello sweetie." I don't remember if she said that in the library episode or not, but she constnatly is saying that to Eleven. She also struts around and ..(gags). Then she gave the Doctor a lesson in how to fly his own TARDIS, or rather, how to land her..... Can't stand her  She needs written out of the show |

Peri.
I have no idea why Five would sacrifice himself for that.
She made my skin crawl in every episode.
There was a reason Six tried to murder her. 
Peri is a companion even the Doctor hated. =D[/font]

I agree about Peri. I don't like her either...she's on the annoying side.
Six tried to murder her? I don't think I saw that episode --- my friend's friend has let us watch a lot of Six, allowing us to borrow his DVDs. He doesn't have all of them, though.

Yes, Peri was quite annoying, but I have to say, the worst Doctor Who companion is....

Seriously, it was like the production team were trying to murder the show by putting one of the most gut-crunchingly awful actresses ever in the role. I will not apologize, she was that bad, and worse.
Or as my friend said:
Should have been a monster, not a companion.

It's definitely between Peri and Mel. The audios have saved both of them from making me cringe horribly at their very mention, but WOW.
And seriously, the Doctor got that sneak preview of Mel at his trial, why didn't he run as fast as his legs would carry him?! But no, LAWS OF TIME and all that, he wound up with her anyway.
I've heard awful things about Sam Jones, but have yet to read the novels... *makes mental note not to*
River Song, for me, depends on the day. I love her to pieces sometimes, and sometimes I find her annoying. It's odd.

I PROMISE ALL OF YOU THE WORST COMPANION IS PERI.
Sam and Mel were all terrible.
But Peri was atrocious.
That's why if we get a Peri on this site I will cry.
