If Donna was asked about herself, she would say that she's nothing - nothing special.
History:
On her first day of primary school, Donna bit Lisa Williams and was sent home. Her mother was furious.
When Donna was 7 years old, her goldfish died. Her mother flushed it before they had a chance to do a proper burial.
When Donna was 8 years old, she fell off her bike and broke her arm trying to keep up with the boys.
When Donna was 9 years old, her dad taught her how to whistle using her fingers. She grinned and hugged him around the neck when she finally figured it out.
When Donna was 11 years old, her grandfather took her up on a nearby hill and taught her about the stars.
When Donna was 14 years old, she went to her first dance with Martin Hughes. He left with another girl. ("He wasn't worth it, sweetheart," her grandfather told her. He knew she was hurting though she was refusing to cry.)
When Donna was 16 years old, she broke curfew and went out with her mates. When her father found out she was doing this often, she was grounded for 2 months.
When Donna was 18 years old, she graduated secondary school.
When Donna was 20, she dropped out of Uni.
When Donna was 21, she got a job at the Hounslow Library. She learned the Dewey Decimal System in two days flat.
When Donna was 22, her mother called her a disappointment.
When Donna was 23, her mother said it again.
When Donna was 24, she got a job at a double-glazing firm.
When Donna was 26, she quit.
When Donna was 27, she went out for a night at the pub and woke up with a hangover, oblivious that there had been an alien spaceship hovering above London.
When Donna was 28, she went scuba diving in Spain. When she surfaced, people told her metal men had been walking the Earth, gathering people and electrocuting those who wouldn't come. She thought them all loonies.
When Donna was 29, she became a temp at H.C. Clements.
When Donna was 29, she met Lance.
Then came the Doctor.
It was all going along swimmingly for Donna. She'd found a man, she'd lost weight, and she'd shown up Nerice; she was getting married. Then a tall skinny man in a suit messed it all up for her.
The Doctor, he had called himself...Doctor Who? It wasn't a proper introduction, but neither was the way they'd met...well, "met" isn't the right word. He'd properly kidnapped her! Not that he would admit it. In fact, he wouldn't give her a straight answer, mumbling about Huon particles snatching her from the ground, pencils, cups...All Donna wanted to do was to get back to her wedding, to Lance, and she was trapped in a bloody spaceship!
Trapped turned out to be a theme that day. Once Donna got back to Earth, a robot dressed in a Santa mask and outfit whisked her off in a cab, locked the doors and windows, and was intent on taking her god knows where until the Doctor caught up with them and made her jump out of the car in moving traffic into a spinning blue box. It sounds mad, I know, but it just got worse from there. When Donna finally showed up at the reception hall, the ornaments on the Christmas tree floated around the room and then exploded! Bonkers! And finally, a giant red talking spider alien spun her into a giant web along with her fiancee, Lance. Well, ex-fiancee. He had been working with the Racnoss from the beginning, dosing her with Huon particles everyday in her coffee. He thought she was crude, little, thick...He had never really loved her...but she had really loved him...
The Doctor saved the day, as Donna would find out happened quite often. And Donna saved the Doctor - from himself, most notably. Later, she let him know he needed someone. To stop him. To save him. He offered to let her come along in his blue box, to see the stars her gramps had shown her through a telescope, but she declined. It had been too much that day. So he left.
On the 25 of December 2006, a man with two hearts, old eyes, and red trainers walked into Donna Noble's life and changed it all...and she had just let him go.
When Donna was 30, she went to Egypt looking for an adventure. The kind of adventure the Doctor had shown her she could have. What she got was bus trips and guidebooks and "don't drink the water". It was nothing like what she had turned down. And in two weeks she was back in Chiswick, her mother nagging her to death over the smallest things. After a month, Donna couldn't take it anymore. She made up her mind. She was going to find the Doctor.
That week, Donna went to the Office of Health and Safety. The receptionist looked her up and down. Donna fixed her with a level gaze, smiled and asked for a job application. Two days after she was hired, she quit, taking her credentials badge with her, one step closer to finding the Doctor.
She researched and googled, looked for large events. Found anomalies, weird goings-on, anything that might attract the Doctor. And she went to one after another for months - her cover as a Health and Safety representative allowing her access to some, time and her wits getting her into the rest. But the Doctor never showed.
Later that year, her father died from a heart attack. The shock didn't fade for a few days, but when it did Donna broke down like she had never before. Donna was a strong woman, but her father had been the voice of reason in the household, the man who had held her when she scraped her knee, who had taught her how to drive, who had told her she could do anything if she put her mind to it.
More than ever, Donna wanted to find the Doctor. She loaded up the truck of her mother's car with clothes and kept them there, always on the ready if the Doctor was to show up. Finally, after 4 more months of going to conferences and big events, Donna Noble walked into Adipose Industries. A certain timelord snuck in the back.
Together, they saved the day and flew off in the Doctor's little blue box.
When Donna was 31, she saw the universe.
The Doctor and Donna: Team Tardis. They had the best adventures. Forward in time, back to the past, to different worlds, through different cultures. She waved at fat, saved a family in Pompei, helped the Oods to escape their bonds of slavery and heard their song, learned to fly the Tardis, met former companion Martha Jones and helped to defeat the Sontarans, helped to reconcile two civilizations, met Agatha Christie, saw a giant killer wasp, was threatened by the Vashta Nerada, got saved to a computer, and ran for her life on a weekly basis. Through it all Donna grew and realized herself more and more. And she slowly learned about the Doctor, the time war, his demons, what made him happy. Donna was his shoulder. Donna was who balanced him out. Donna was his best friend. And Donna was going to travel with him forever.
What RP board: Tenth Doctor, maybe Eleventh if we could figure out a way to bring her back onto the Tardis.
