While waiting for the new skins from Sage, I went to the ProBoards Support board and asked people for suggestions to the forum.
I received several suggestions. These individuals gave me links to various codes.
I was wanting to get people's thoughts: 1.) Category splitter -- do you like having a space between categories?
2.) Reduction in forum width -- do you like this new forum width size, or do you prefer the original size? I'm sure that when Sage adds in the stuff he was going to add to the sides that the forum width will be reduced anyway. I only did this because someone suggested it. It is temp until we get the new skins.
3.) A table for the affiliates -- now we WILL have something like this with the new skins, but I don't want them all to scroll like that in one big long scrolly thingy.
Thoughts? opinions? thanks.

another suggestion that was made was to remove two other things:
the thing on the banner that told you what page you were on in the format <<home>> -- etc. Did anyone here use that? If so, I will add it back.
The other suggestion made was to remove the Hello X....you have X messages.... I did not remove that, as I kind of like it there. What do other people think? Do you guys look at that and view it? I do...but if the majority of you don't want it there, I can remove that as well.

Hello. I am The 10th Doctor from Proboards Support btw. XD A category splitter (even better, one with top and bottom graphics) Would break up the forum better and make items more easily identifiable and quicker to find. It also adds to a better professional appearance. Reduction of forum width will also add to a professional and streamlined appearance... and it just looks bad on my wide screen laptop. >_> Table for affiliates... More affiliates, less mess at the bottom of the forum and a better appearance. Like you I too prefer keeping the Hello X... you have X message center. However may I suggest moving it under the site banner instead of next to it. Here is a sample of what I mean ( SAMPLE)... and now that I look at it, it shows all the other coding as well.

LOL....oh wow....I could have just asked you on here then. Anyway, I have done some of what you suggested. I don't know how to do the splitter with an image. I was just given the code to do the generic splitter. I don't know much about the graphics stuff either, as Sage has to teach me that. I reduced the forum width some -- not a whole lot. Does this look better on your wide screen lap top? I do have a wide screen laptop, but I guess I'm just used to the appearance of it. I reduced it some, but thought I would wait to see how the sidebar stuff that Sage has designed will affect it. All of what I'm doing is temporary until I get the codes and stuff that Sage has been working on. I also added in the affiliate codes, which someone gave me the codes to. I don't like them all scrolling in one big long thing....so still trying to get that changed. Awaiting a response in proboards support on that. okay...let me take a look at the coding that changes the location of it. I'll be glad to do that.

And fixed So now I'm just waiting to get the various codes for the different kinds of affiliate boxes. Once I have those, then I'll break things up a bit.
