Bryan grinned. "Right, so have any favorite swimming holes? Or should I pick?"

"I usually just go where ever is closest but I don't know this area very well so you can pick!"

Bryan nodded. "Well, the closest place is the bay really, but..."

"Sounds perfect! What are we waiting for?" she asked him nearly bouncing up and down she was so eager to go.

Bryan grinned. "Right, let's go then. You have a towel? If not I've got extra." He was heading toward the door.

"I've got one." she said grabbing it off the table and following him to the door.

Bryan nodded. "Alright, let's go," he said as he walked out the door, holding it open for her. He smiled at how excited she was about the prospect of swimming. He was glad to have this opportunity to spend time with her.

It didn't take long to get to the bay and as soon as they arrived Serenity dropped her towel on the edge of the pier and dived in. The water was ice cold and it was a shock to her system but she ignored it in favour of staying in the water. She emerged from the water and yelled to Bryan, "Come on the water isn't that bad!"

Bryan smiled. But then it hit him. His usual routine was that he would take his gloves off at this point. He didn't know how well he could swim with them on. But he didn't know if he was ready to tell Serenity about his family history.

She dove back under and swam around for a few minutes before she realized Bryan still wasn't in the water so she yelled to him, "What are you waiting for?"

Bryan looked down at her nervously, then decided that it was worth the risk. She'd have to find out some day, right? He slipped off his gloves, but kept his fingers as close together as possible. He didn't open them up again until he had dove into the water and they were safely hidden under the surface.

She grinned as he jumped into the water and when he emerged she gave him an overly exaggerated scowl, "Took you long enough!" then she dived back under swimming a little ways away from him. As soon as she resurfaced she sent a wave of water towards him.

Bryan grinned. He pushed a wave of water at her. Then he dove down and took a deep breath through his gills. He loved that much that he got from his dad.

She spluttered as the wave of water hit her. She wiped the water from her eyes with a huge smile on her face but Bryan wasn't there, until she saw a shadow of movement under the water.

Bryan continued to swim around underwater, smiling. He looked around in the water with his father's eyes. Everything looked so clear. He was at home in the water.
