Tylerhathan, who hadn't seen his son in a while, decided it was about time that they should catch up with one another. In order to contact the Doctor, he made his way to his own TARDIS. The truth was that this wasn't his original TARDIS -- it was only one that he had purchased after the High Council had forced him to give up his first TARDIS.
Tylerhathan didn't need to look up the contact number of his son's TARDIS, as he knew it...knew it all too well. The Doctor's TARDIS was, in fact, his old family TARDIS -- a TARDIS that had been passed down in his family from generation to generation. It had been decommissioned after the trial, and years later the Doctor had stolen it without knowing what it was. Tylerhathan was forbidden, under threat of death to himself and to his children, to tell his son what that TARDIS was, or that it had been in their family for generations. He had been extremely surprised when he learned that the TARDIS the Doctor had stolen was THAT one.
Putting those thoughts behind him, he entered his current TARDIS and dialed the Doctor's TARDIS. He waited for his son to pick up.

The Doctor, Tegan and Nyssa were still recovering after the death of their fellow traveller, Adric, but never the less, The Doctor was still trying to return Tegan to her home era in 1981.
He was in his fifth incarnation now, though looking more youthful than he ever had.
"Right, this should be it" He said confidently, running around, flicking seemingly random buttons.
"That's what you said the other five times" Tegan said bleakly back.
"Well i'm pretty sure that i'm right this ti....." The Doctor was interrupted by the sound of a telephone ringing. He was surprised, as he hadn't received a phone call for a very long time... He ran to the phone and picked it up......

Tylerhathan spoke into the phone, "Hello, son. How are you? When will you travel to Gallifrey again? It's been a while since I saw you. We should get together sometime and have a talk."

"Uhh, hi" The Doctor stammered out.
"What's wrong Doctor?" Nyssa inquired.
"It's my father" The Doctor said putting the phone against his chest.
"I didn't think you had a dad" Tegan said
"Everyone has a dad" The Doctor replied
"Sure... I'd love to meet you" The Doctor said uneasily into the phone "Let's say, Bolta?"
He hoped his dad had forgiven him for running away all those years ago.

Tylerhathan replied to his son, "Nothing is really wrong -- it's just that I hadn't seen you in a while....wondered how you were doing."

Once Tylerhathan's TARDIS had materialized he let out a sigh. Hoping that he had arrived in the proper year -- his son hadn't given him a date or time coordinate to follow, he smiled in relief when he checked his TARDIS' scanners. Another TARDIS was detected nearby, and it had recently arrived.
Going over to the door, he stuck his head outside/. Smiling, he saw the blue police box next to his own. He didn't take in the rest of his surroundings.

The Doctor also stuck out his head, seeing his dad staring back at him.
"Dad...." He said "hello."
He embraced his father, it had been a long time, and he was glad to see him once more.
"But dad, where were you?" He asked, "When I came home from the academy, you were gone."
"Doctor?" Tegan said from inside, "I think we have a problem...."
"Not now Tegan" He said to Tegan, awaiting his father's response.
"But doctor..." Tegan replied.
"Tegan! not now!" The Doctor said to Tegan as Hytes and Yuea threw a lightning bolt at both of the time lords.

Tylerhathan replied, "I'm sorry...that couldn't be helped. Emmehudjiat had sent me off to another planet to bring him back a particularly rare plant from another planet. You know how he can be -- I didn't want him hurting you or your brother, so I left for a while in search of the plant."
He said this as he embraced his son.
Emmehudijat was a particularly cruel Time Lord -- cruel to the lower class Gallifreyans. However, he got away with this behavior because he was one of the leading members of the Gallifreyan High Council. At one time he had hurt the Doctor's brother -- had broken his arm, leg, and back when the Hunter and the Doctor were 8 years old. He had made Tylerhathan the equivalent of his personal slave, ordering him around. Tylerhathan did, however, have the freedom to do landscaping work for other Time Lords besides just Emmehudjiat.
Tylerhathan looked at Tegan curiously. "Is she human?"
It was then that he saw the lightening bolt that was hurled at both of them. Tylerhathan jumped quickly, trying to get out of the way.
"Might want to meet somewhere else," he sent to his son.

"Good idea, how about you choose this time? I don't seem to be that good" He replied to his father.
"Doctor, are you ok?" Tegan asked the doctor.
The doctor shook his head "Yes Tegan, just telepathically communicating, nothing special"

Tylerhathan rushed back into his TARDIS, trying to escape the lightning stuff that the two fighters were battling with. He sent his son another telepathic message, "Right....I'll just move my TARDIS into the woods, same planet. The other option would be....we could go to another planet. Which would you prefer?"
He waited to get a response before entering anything into his TARDIS' navigational systems.

"Woods, i mean, it's not like anything can get us there, well hopefully" The Doctor replied.
"Doctor, why didn't you tell us you had a father?" Tegan asked.
"Well, I didn't think it was important to tell you" The Doctor said back.

Tylerhathan sent back, "All right...I'll take mine into the woods....hope to see you soon."
With that said, Tylerhathan set the coordinates into his TARDIS, causing it to dematerialize and reappear deep i the woods. He didn't know a whole lot about the planet, but he figured getting out of the battle scene was the most important thing to do. He just hoped that his son was more careful when he traveled.
"He doesn't always get himself into trouble like this, does he," he said out loud, though no one was in his console room to hear him or to reply.

((Finally got around to it))
The Doctor programmed the coordinates into his console, and he waited as the old TARDIS whirred.
There was a bump, and he knew they had landed. He slowly opened the TARDIS door to make sure there were no beasts, or hostile Boltans around.
"It's safe" He said to Nyssa and Tegan who were obviously cautious after what had happened just a minute ago.
He stepped outside, his father's TARDIS hadn't landed yet,
"Where is he?" Tegan said to the Doctor curiously.
"He'll be here soon, if all goes well..." The Doctor replied.

Several minutes after the Doctor's TARDIS landed, Tylerhathan's did as well. Sticking his head out of his TARDIS, he smiled.
"Looks like he managed fine," Tylerhathan said to himself. "Not too surprising...but...."
Tylerhathan had to admit that he was slightly nervous. After all, he had never really been to this planet before, and hadn't gotten himself familiar with the culture yet. He had no idea how his son could do this all the time -- traveling to unknown planets by himself -- well, at least with no other Time Lords around.
