"Yes, sir," the Librarian said, again, trying to hide her tone as she unlocked the rare books section and went to where the requested book was shelved, taking it from its place and handing it to the man. "There you are, sir. Anything else before you head off to that important meeting of yours?"

Emmehujidat snatched the book out of the Librarians hands.
"No, that will be all," he responded. "You are dismissed from my presence."
He turned from her, heading back the way that they had come.

Kari smiled in return. "Well who else do you think would be interested in coming?"
Kari and Lani had plenty of friends, but Kari's friends were generally the more academically minded, so often they were studying for tests or researching or just studying. Kari herself did her fair share of these activities, too.

"Well, all of the girls would be interested, but Alyssa has a big test tomorrow she has to study for and Emma is going home to see her folks early in the morning and you know how Melonie is... so it might just be you and me," Lani said.

Once Emmehujidat was out of hearing range, the Librarian sighed exasterbatedly and locked the door to the rare books section before heading back to the counter.
"One of the many 'perks' of working for the High Council, having to deal with the jerks," she said softly, one of her assistants nodding in agreement.
"I better get this sorted out before my break, so I won't have too much to do when I get back," she said as she continued what she was doing before she was rudely interrupted.

Emmehujidat quickly left the library with the rare book in his hand.
______
Meanwhile, another Time Lord entered the library.
Correon approached the front desk to the library, but he noted that the Librarian and her assistants were busy. Not wanting to interrupt their work, but noting that both of them seemed to be frustrated, he spoke up.
"Well if it isn't one of my prize students," he said with a smile. ________ Earth -- London 2010
Kari smiled. "Okay, it sounds good to me. Are you ready?"

Lani nodded. She was always ready for a good time.

The Librarian looked up when she heard the familiar voice and smiled. "Proffesor, it's good to see you again. What can I help you with?"

He was honestly glad that the Librarian had done so well. "But I hope that a conversation won't disturb your work...how have you been doing?" ________ Earth -- London 2010Kari smiled as she picked up her things and then headed off in the direction of some stores. (And here we're going to have to improvise until we get the Time Lords there. Davros is coming, so that will be fun... )

"Well, really, I only have to put up these books now, so I can help you at the same time," the Librarian said as she took up the sorted stack and made her way around the counter with them.
"I'm doing as well as to be expected," she sighed. "I'm sure you saw Emmehujidat leaving as you came in."
She liked talking with her old teachers. It reminded her of how ignorant of the world's problems she really was.

Correon smiled. "If you are sure...I don't want to be responsible for you neglecting your duties. If I did that, I would be setting a very bad example for my former students."
He nodded, "Yes, I did see Emmehujidat leaving as I came in."
Correon was well aware of how his colleague tended to treat Time Lords who were not on the High Council....or Time Lords that were not from, in Emmehujidat's opinion, a respectable family.

Earth --2010
The ship had now reached earth and was orbiting it serenely,Davros surveyed its majesty from the wide exoglass window at the front of the bridge, most people would see beauty but Davros only saw a mildly interesting mass of geology. Two daleks had their manipulators inside the workings of his wheelchair, apparently making some repairs. As they hung what looked like a large plastic walkman on the side of it he adressed them:
"Remember my soldiers there is to be no attempt at conquest of this world, assuming we succeed this...undesirable reality shall be negated so your efforts shall be an unnecessary drain of resources."
"We o-bey!"was the rattly response from his audience.
With amazing dexterity for a plunger one of the Daleks flipped a switch on the side of the walkman and some sort of energy began to pulse through it.A sudden change overcame Davros, unless you looked really hard or had some knowledge of perception filters he now looked for all the world like a harmless young man in an electric wheelchair of the time period. He smiled through his new handsome lips as a small box was fired down onto the earth.

Kari walked in the direction that she and Lani had discussed earlier, lost in her thoughts about the research project. She had no idea who these people were who were supposed to be working with the students at her school, but apparently they had good enough credentials for the professor in charge of the project.

"Yeah, one of the unfortunate facts of working for the High Council, but I won't bog you down with things like that," the Librarian smiled, placing a few of the books in their appropriate places as she spoke. "So how about you? How are you holding up? Have you retired yet?"
The last question was a bit more of a joke. It seemed to her that he enjoyed teaching and not likely to retire until he was on his last incarnation.

The box hurtled to earth and touched down on a rundown patch of weeds behind a block that had once been one of the most thriving social areas on campus but was now little more than a rotting collection of rusty seats under a collapsed roof, not even the porters ever came back here. The box began to glow softly and what looked like a dalek began to appear beside it,as it rendered from the bottom up it became obvious it was Davros. When all his molecules had reassembled the perception filter kicked in and his withered features gave way to much more human ones.
The young man in his wheelchair slowly headed down a thin damp alley onto a much brighter path lined with ornamental bushes, moving amongst the throngs of students he did not look out of place in the slightest. He had not got far when he saw a sign that read:
'Free Genetics Lecture today,all welcome'
"Hmm"said Davros to himself curiously as he entered the pristine building.Seconds later a maniacal chuckling could be heard right down the corridors.

Correon looked at her and nodded. "Well, I'm on the High Council too, you know."
He paused a moment before he finally shook his head with a laugh. "I think you know me too well then to believe me to have retirement on my mind -- possibly retire from the High Council, but not from my professorship."
Correon was only joking when he spoke of retiring from the High Council. He knew that what they needed on that Council was balance. He had lately been concerned of the direction that some members on the High Council were going.
"Seen any of your old classmates recently?" he asked. ___________ Earth 2010
Kari had actually consented to participate in a genetics study, thus she had allowed them to take a sample of her own DNA for the project. She'd almost forgotten about that lecture. She was planning on attending it.
Turning to Lani, she said, "Oh....was there supposed to be a genetics lecture today?"

Lani shrugged. "Not that I know of."

The Librarian smiled. "Well, of course I've seen a few. Aragorn and I still keep in touch. Though, he has seemed a bit distant lately," she said as she placed the last book where it belonged.
"Well, I'm on my break now, but I can still help you find whatever it is you're looking for."

Correon smiled at the mention of Aragorn's name. "Yes....well....Aragorn's been receiving a lot of pressure from certain other Time Lords to choose a wife. Knowing him from the Academy and from my own contact with him recently, he doesn't like other people trying to control his life."
He nodded in her direction, "Although I appreciate the offer of assistance, I'm sure that one of your assistants could help me with what I need. Go off and enjoy your break."
He grinned at her. "After all, you deserve it after meeting with....a certain proud colleague of mine." ______ Earth Kari looked at Lani and shrugged, "Maybe you're right....maybe it isn't today. Do you think we might want to check?"
