Tyler nodded at Kyra, accepting what she had said. He responded to his wife thoughtfully.
"But Kyra, we're not....we're not gods, as much as certain Time Lords think we are -- or want us to be. I have to admit that I don't like some of what I've heard in certain academic circles on Gallifrey -- talking about wanting to obtain some sort of high spiritual state. I've done my research - it sounds to me like human gnosticism."
He glanced over at his brother to see if he ha heard anything about that. His brother had been absent from Gallifrey for so long...
"But the point is, Kyra....we aren't all knowing, nor should we be. None of us know what will happen in the future -- yes we have access to time travel and know of some future events, but we cannot be sure about Gallifrey. Gallifrey, if I understand it correctly, was placed sort of outside the rest of the universe -- as time on Gallifrey is always the current time. Doctor, you've been traveling more than I have -- is this true? Anyway....we have to accept that we are not all knowing...and we just have to hope that things will work out all right....we can't control the future...not really....even Time Lords are limited by our laws -- fixed points an such."
"Some things we just have to accept by faith -- a hope that things will get better, even if they are bad for a little while."

"But when it makes me physically ill, Ty?" Kyra asked. "I don't want to know everything about the universe. I just want to know that I'm going to be alright, that I'm not losing my mind..." She tried to hold back tears.

Tyler frowned, "Well.....it's not good if it makes you physically ill....but could it be making you ill because you are thinking and worrying about the what ifs about the future? What...why don't you think you're going to be all right? What...what are you afraid of?"
Tyler looked at his wife with concern. Why was she so concerned that something terrible was going to happen to her? That she wouldn't be all right? Gallifrey had always been a fairly stable place -- generally no one every bothered them, and Gallifrey tried to stay out of other people's business. So, was this thing that his wife was worried about something specific to her ...or did she fear for Gallifrey? From the way she had spoken earlier, and at the moment, it wasn't clear. Tyler decided to ask.
"Are you afraid of your future or Gallifrey's future...or both? I'm just a little confused."

"I said I don't know," Kyra said frustrated. Having put her tea down already, she wrapped her arms around herself. "All I know is that something big is going to happen. I don't know if it's going to something just big for me or something universal. All I know is the feelings I get, wanting to get away from everything."

Tyler heard what his wife said and sighed.
"I'm sorry," he replied. "I'm trying to help --" and then a thought occurred to him.
If his wife wanted to get away, then he would help her do whatever she wanted -- even if it meant that he had to take another vacation from work -- or even if it meant something else.
"You know....if you want to get away, we can do that. Your or me, or whatever it is that you wanted. When was the last time you left Gallifrey? I could take some time off of work and go somewhere with you -- vacation -- or you could go alone. Whatever you want -- or there is another possibility..."
He swallowed before continuing. "Or....or you could even use a chameleon arch and and forget everything -- I could come with you or not....just to make sure you're safe. I could take you to any time or place that you wanted."
Tyler then tried to reassure her, "I...I don't think you're crazy, but if you even wanted to seek mental health care here on Gallifrey, I'll go with you to the appointment. This wouldn't be my preference, but if you wanted this, I would walk with you through it..."
He looked into her eyes again.
"What do you want to do?"

Chameleon arch... That was the thing that got Kyra to perk up. She didn't know why, but the idea of that felt right. "I want you to come with me. Last time I got away was with the Doctor and you." She looked to the Doctor. "I think it was your sixth regeneration?"

Tyler nodded at Kyra, "All right....I will go with you and stay by your side and go wherever it is that you want to go."
Because she hadn't mentioned her selection of the chameleon arch part specifically, Tyler assumed she just wanted a vacation.
"I'll put in time to take off -- but if something does happen here, or if they need me to come back for anything, I'll have to....."
Tyler smile at his wife and nodded, "Yes, I think it was only with the Sixth version of my brother that we left Gallifrey as a couple together....so....any ideas on where you would like to go?"

"Earth," Kyra said. "And... I think I want to be under a Chameleon Arch... But I don't want to forget you, I want you to be in my life." She watched him carefully to see how he might react.

Tyler glanced back at Kyra, "Well, I would have no control over that -- if ...if...you went under a chameleon arch, whatever TARDIS was used to make you human would make up your story -- if I understand the process correctly. That TARDIS could make me anything that it wanted -- a brother, a friend, your husband, etc."
"But if that's what you want to do, that would be all right with me -- I'd just keep you safe - protect you. You' have to let me know ahead of time when you wanted me to open the watch....watches are generally what are used..."

"I... I don't know... whenever whatever is going to happen happens. I think you'll know by that time." Kyra sat a moment, thinking about it. "Yeah... you'll know by that time. I can feel it."

Tyler nodded, happy that his wife seemed certain of at least a few things, and seemed to have calmed down, now that she had a plan.
"All right then, where and when on Earth did you want to go? The Doctor is much more familiar with that planet than I....so he might possibly have a recommendation....." At that point Tyler glanced at Eight.
"Any ideas?"
Then he turned back to Kyra, taking her hand in his, "Or do you have something in mind from your studies?"

"I think I would prefer late 20th century London," Kyra said, holding his hand tightly, smiling. Now that they knew what they were going to do, she felt much better. She was especially glad that he would come with her. She gently started to pull him closer.

Tyler allowed himself to be pulled closer, feeling his wife relax even more.
"All right -- sounds like a plan. When did you want to leave? I'll need to put in for a leave of absence - I should have enough vacation days saved up -- we'll be all right."
Smiling at her, he leaned in to kiss her.

"As soon as you can do so without any grief with the office," Kyra said, smiling at him. She leaned up and kissed him. She was so very grateful to have him. As both a husband and the best of friends.

Tyler nodded, "Right, I'll get to that soon....oh...I should probably tell the Guitarist....he'll be wondering where I went off to...."
He looked into his wife's eyes, very glad that she had agreed to marry him, kissing her again. Although Kyra was his best friend -- had been for a long time, she wasn't his only best friend. The Guitarist was also his long time best friend. He wouldn't have been able to rate which was a better friend to him -- his wife or the Guitarist. He'd had other close friends as well, including his own brother. However, his brother had been gone from Gallifrey a lot lately, and he'd barely had time to see him.
(probably better wait for Eight, as we want to give Eight a chance to respond)
