With a Little Help From my Friends (SJ/River/11)

As a soloist, Sarah Jane had learned caution. No longer did she have a partner out there to come dig her out if she got into trouble, and she certainly didn't have the Doctor, who had always managed to dig her out of the hardest spots. After the first couple of pans from the camera, she knew somewhere deep inside her that she could, though just barely, get through the other doorway before security caught her image. Caution held her in place, however, as she pulled up her watch, ready to time it to the split second. It was her turn to dig out the Doctor, and she could not fail. She had to be certain, and would time it first.

This is what she was doing when River Song shouted low and took off in perfect sprint form. Sarah Jane lost a full second standing there, mouth popped open and eyes wide. Thankfully, her feet were smarter than her thoughts and she took off running then, a small sound of aggravation escaping her. River ran like flash flood, and in that moment no doubt lingered in Sarah Jane that this woman had spent time at the Doctor's side.

River's longer legs were making a difference. Sarah Jane poured on her best sprint, her brain, now re-engaged, was mercilessly counting seconds verses meters-to-go in her head. She kept her eyes on the prize no matter how she wished to look behind her.

Once the ladies were past the panning security camera and in the clear - at least for the moment - River looked to Sarah Jane with a grin. She just loved all of this 'cloak and dagger' running around. They were nearly at the security station, at least, that's what River thought, based on what Sarah Jane had said earlier.

She pulled out a small tube of lipstick and applied some to her lips, quickly, and then tucked it back in her pocket. River pressed her lips together and spread the lipstick evenly across her lips. This was no ordinary lipstick, however. This was a tube of River's 'patented' hallucinogenic lipstick, which would effectively disable anyone she touched with her lips, reducing them to, essentially, a babbling idiot.

And, it wouldn't actually cause anyone harm, unlike the lipstick she used on the Doctor in 1938 Berlin.

"Alright - let's do this," River said with a hint of excitement in her tone, before they headed towards the security point.
