Libby was listening to the conversation going back and forth. Her eyes widening as she realized they were talking about things she had read about. Sort of, she was very very worried about the situation in general. She looked towards Thete, and then Flynn. Trying her best to shrink around those that she wasn't really close to. Her walls going back up, incase someone called her a freak again.
She was tired of being called a freak, it was definitely a rather painful feeling. She hated being called a freak, but she was used to it in a sense. She wrapped an arm around Thete. "I know what you speak of. I hope that she gets well." She said softly in a rather dead tone. She was always this closed off when there was too many people nearby.

The Guitarist heard Theta loud and clear. He nodded thoughtfully and said no more. He understood perfectly well. Tyler had to stay with her, the two of them had been the best of friends as long as he'd known either of them. He'd not bring up anymore- it was private business. At least Tyler was okay.
He tried to smile his best at Tyler's brother, but his grin wasn't a true one. This news stung. Even though she was sick, Tyler had no time for him anymore at all. Not even a two minute call. He was a faithful friend, he'd been waiting for a call or something from his best friend, but, instead he was just too busy. He'd been thrown aside for a girlfriend again.
The Freelance stood awkwardly next to the Guitarist and picked up that he was upset. Putting a friendly arm round his shoulder, he tried to lead him back to the changing room, but noticed The Guitarist's eye's wander. He'd noticed the shyer of the two girls back off a little. She retreated into her shell and he felt a bit bad. He tried his best not to intimidate people and make them feel uneasy; he was just a big fluffy teddy bear on the inside, there was nothing to be scared of...
In his bad mood, he was still harmless... enough. Until he heard Flynn speak to Koschei. He frowned and interrupted rudely. "If anyone thinks they can beat me, go ahead and try me. I've been training for three hours and I'll still mop the floor with you." He scowled. "You first Flynn, since you're so eager. Give me back my gloves Freelance, tape me up." He shot a dirty look at Flynn, tempting him to come and try him. He didn't know Flynn well, but, he thought himself more of a man than the scrawny mess that had spoken up.

"So, I've been meaning to see if I had a chance in the tournament, any one want to spar with me?" Flynn asks rubbing his hands together, a large smile on his face. He points at Kos. "Kos! How About you? Wanna take me on?"
Koschei shrugged, and grinned his sly grin. "Sure, what the heck. Let me stretch out a bit first."
Ushas laughed gently at him. "See, I did you a favor."
"Really?" Kos drawled.
"Yep. Now you don't have to worry about being too full to fight."
Kos threw his towel at her. She dodged it easily.

Kos smiled thinly. "Gloves?" he asked. "We usually go bare knuckle." With that, he headed for the training floor. "I'm up for another triangle match. Let's go."

Thete recognized the Guitarist's expression. It was one he'd worn all too frequently himself - a fake smile, plastered on a hurt expression. It bothered him.
She wrapped an arm around Thete. "I know what you speak of. I hope that she gets well." She said softly in a rather dead tone. She was always this closed off when there was too many people nearby.
That bothered him, too. Not the words, but the emotions he could feel from her. Relax, he told her, I'm here. Our friends are here. Nothing to worry about.
"Hey, Guitarist..?" he started to say, feeling like he should make some explanation for his twin's behavior. And then the Guitarist reacted to Flynn's challenge, and the moment was lost.
He hugged Libby. "You feel like taking a ride up the mountain, after evening classes? If I'm going to enter the tournament, I'll have to get it approved by Master K'anpo."
A beat.
"I might be able to scare up some quorlberries."

Libby watched the males, a small thread of competitive nature coming to life in her. Her eyes narrowed as she stepped forward. Stopping for a moment, to smile over at Thete. "I"ll be fine love, let's take that trip." She said as she kissed him softly. She looked nervous, but she was taking his and others advice. She was going to put her best foot forward, and do something that would shock most other people. She calmly reached into the pockets of her clothing.
She pulled out a pair of leather gloves, and slid them into place. They just had cushioning in them, to help prevent breaks. Even though they were fingerless, the important part of her hand was the bones connected all in the palm. She slid those into place, and took off her outer jacket, wearing gentle loose slacks, tied at her waist. She was also wearing a tank top, and slowly put her hair back. "How about a team match. Koschei, I'll work with you?" She said as she shifted and took an almost perfect stance.

Koschei flinched, just a little, in surprise. One foot on the raised ring, he looked back at Libby - who certainly looked like she knew what she was doing - and then at Thete, trying to catch his eye.
That proved difficult. Libby, in her workout clothes, seemed to have completely monopolized his attention.
THETE! he bellowed in a tight-beam telepathic transmission. Are you all right with that?
Huh? What? There was a lot of emotional overspill on Thete's sidebands.
Thete! Rassilon, buddy! Stop checking her butt out for a minute, and pay attention!
All right! All right! What? Oh, yeah. No... I mean, it's not my decision...
Kos gave him a dry look. Really? Because I can feel the jealousy from here...
It's fine. Really.
"Sure, Libertansiel," he said, stepping onto the ring. "Assuming Flynn and the Guitarist are up for a doubles match as well."

The Guitarist eyed his competition up from his side of the room. After hearing that they went bare knuckle, he waved The Freelance away. He was starting to act like a stroppy rock star now.
Snatching the tape from the Freelance's hands as he back off, The Guitarist stuck the end to his wrist and wrapped it up. Biting the end off, he did the same with the other. Keeping up the sudden outburst of attitude, he spat out the spare tape in his mouth, replying to the challenge. "Sure. Team is fine to start with." Flexing his arms and wrists, he grinned his crooked teeth at them. "Why not make it last man- or woman, standing? The last one conscious wins." Tossing the tape reel back to The Freelance, who pulled a disappointed face, he smirked at his friend. The Freelance sighed and turned away, saying that if he didn't see it, he wouldn't tell. The Guitarist grinned. "So, what d'ya say to that everyone?" He then had a brainwave. "We could even put money on it." The youngster was so confident he'd win, he'd already decided what he'd buy with it. He was all out of cigarettes, so he'd buy them.
Ever since Tyler had dropped off the radar and stopped showing up at school, he'd smoked more and publicly. He'd been frowned on but he hadn't cared. It was that and he'd started to drink a lot more. It wasn't rare to see him stumbling out of a bar at 2am completely drunk. he got smashed a lot and had really started hanging out with his other friends. The supposed wrong crowd.
In truth, it had just boosted his ego. Blown it up so much, he thought he could win this fight of 3 against 1.

Libby turned her head to stare at Koschei, a grin spreading on her face. "It'll just turn into a game with me and Koschei, you boys do understand that?" She said softly as she titled her head calmly to the side and stared at her partner. "I prefer Team match, it's more fair for the match ending, that way." She said as she shifted into a basic fighters stance, a small grin on her face.
Koschei, I'm going to open my mind to you, so that you can see things as quickly as I do. That way we can work as a unit, if needed. She said softly as she stretched out her mind mentally. She was advanced in more things, then any of the others from the Academ. She was the pride jewel, according to the Council. What she was being made for, she wasn't sure. But she was slowly devouring the whole Gallifreyan Library.
She was allowed to sit in on classes far more advanced then something a 18 year old woman should be sitting in on. Her parents were explaining everything about their machines to her, so many others were too. She was a literal Archive of everything built up inside her. She hoped that Koschei was fine with working in tandem with her. Because in reality she could work rather effectively. You're going to be the first outside of my father, to see how well I fight. I've never been in a match with anyone other then my Master, and my Father.

All right, came Koschei's reply, just slightly hesitant at the thought of so inimate a communion with his best friend's girlfriend. He relaxed, opening his perceptions...
Koschei's mind was... interesting. It seemed made of spines and razor blades, an inverse image of Thete's - cruel where Thete was kind, harsh where Thete was gentle (and, oddly, humble where Thete was proud, honest where Thete was deceptive). There was no pity in his mind, no remorse, no sense of right and wrong or of good and evil. There was only a sense of expedience, of efficiency. And, oddly, of loyalty. To Thete, as if he could not meaningfully distinguish between himself and his friend.
And through it all, deep down in the darkness, a distant sound of drums.
tap-tap-tap-TAP
tap-tap-tap-TAP
Koschei smiled, friendly enough in appearance and cold as metallic hydrogen in the darkness of his mind, as he slipped into a fighting stance of his own. "You ready, Libby?"
The darkness in his mind brightened and thawed with the thought. The engram for Libertansiel was inextricably entwined with the engram for Thete - his subconscious could no more meaningfully distinguish between her and Thete than it could between himself and Thete...

Libby's eyes closed as she allowed her mind to roll around in Koschei's. It didn't bother her, his nature. She smiled at him rather sweetly as she adjusted her fighting pose to be complimentary to her. Her mind working at a rapid speed and sharing information with him. She could also process a lot of the possible incomes that would come. Further then that, she had began working on her control of her psychic abilities, more then most would even dream of, other then The Deca. She put on a determined face, as she faced her opponents.
Koschei, your mind doesn't scare me. If that's why you were worried. She said in a smooth and calming voice. Her voice was like a balm, hopefully. If he entered her mind, he would find that he held just as high of a place in her mind as Thete did. Not as high, but nearly there. Then there was the fact that her mind was literally nothing but rows and rows of information carefully organized. Sometimes beams of light could be seen snapping between information, filling the mental air with a sort of electrical feel.

The Guitarist watched impatiently as the teams were paired off, the other team mentally linked and got themselves ready. He wouldn't do either with Flynn. He was being selfish and egocentric, once again. Flynn would have to fend for himself. The Guitarist was all for himself now.
He steadied himself, took up the traditional boxing stance and waited. "I'm up for it. We playing for money?" His eyes wandered around the room uneasily, settling on Libby. It made him think of the main girl in his life A slight tinge of envy came over him. His own relationships weren't going well either. It turned out that relationships outwith your own chapter were destined to fail. He never admitted it to anyone, but unconsciously, the relationship was boring him. he knew they had nothing in common and she wouldn't submit. She refused to stay the night. In his drunken state, his real desires for her, took a hold of another woman. He hadn't told her. He hadn't mean to, he kept telling himself, he couldn't help it. That excuse wouldn't do.
Furious with himself, brought on by these wounds of drama, he egged the others on to start the fight. He just wanted to let his anger out and they'd do nicely.

Thete took a deep breath, trying not to let anxiety twist up his guts. He knew Libby was good, but still...
He worried, all right? As far as he was concerned, it was one thing if he did something damnfool stupid and got hurt, and it was quite another if someone he loved did something damnfool stupid and got hurt. And he loved Libby more than anything in his life.
Of course, she'd made it quite clear on more than one occasion that she wasn't some fragile blossom that needed to be sheltered and protected. But that didn't make it any easier.
"All right," he announced, raising his hand. "Begin."
