The Daleks on Boradway

[Jack Harkness]

Jack had been enjoying his twist of the evening rather well.
Sitting in between random strangers while being amazed by the play.
He had been enjoying it all until he heard his familiar friend screaming for help.

His body snapped into action, used to these situations as he dashed up and over the stage. Taking the shortest route to the dressing room.
"Izzy!?" he shouted following right after the post-famous star. Gun in hand as he ran.

The dressing room was empty, yet there were a couple of things 'off' about the room.
Starting with the large slab parked in the far corner revealing a deep pit into the sewers of the city.

"Stay here" he nearly ordered the actor as he moved closer to the dark pit. Gun still in hand as he stared down into it.
There was no thing on heaven or earth that would abduct one of his friends and get away with it.

Bogie looked at jack with a serious Face, still wearing his tennis outfit from the play his eye widened when Jack drew his gun. It seemed as though someone, or something had kidnapped Izzy and dragged him down to the swears. it could have been mole men for all he knew.

"Stay here" Said Jack.

"Oh no brother, you can bet that If something has taken Izzy then I'm gonna help you bring him back." said Bogie as he reached into the prop trunk taking out a long sword like Errol Flynn. He would have taken a gun but all the guns in the prop trunk were fake. the only real weapon was the sword because it was sharp and pointy.

as Bogie and Jack climbed down into the underground Izzy was having problems of his own...

"Let go of me you Jerks, Oh when Jack finds you you are gonna be so sorry you messed with me." Screamed Izzy as he tried to break free. "I don't believe this. I refuse to be the damsel in distress! Jack!"

eventually they came to a corridor where he was thrown in with a group of people the Pig men had all captured. They seemed to be collecting people. Izzy wasn't sure what for. as someone who had studied alien anatomy he knew that these pig men weren't aliens. more like some sort of genetically grown slaves. "Its Okay everyone just stay calm and try not to panic."

However it seemed that izzy spoke to soon. the next thing he knew rounding the corner was a Darlek. The most evil thing in all the universe.

"All Humans will line up against the wall or you will be exterminated!" said the Darlek in that inhuman voice of his.

A lone tear ran down Izzy's face and a look of hopelessness decorated it. "Oh dear god no, Jack my love. I'm so sorry..."

Jack could try and argue with the actor, but after years of failing to get people to do what he said he just let out a frustrated sigh.
He couldn't promise this man to be safe, and he didn't want to change history either.
"Don't wander off..." he nearly growled as he hopped down the stairs.

A puddle of water meeting his boots as he came down in the damp sewers.
"..." his brows pulled together as he glared at his shoes.
Nothing he should be commenting about now.

The immortal had his gun trained at eye level, blue eyes sharp as he analysed the room.
The feint sound of foot steps and voices clear in the distance.
"Try not to make a sound.." he whispered as he started to move towards the sound.
Constantly making sure the next corner was a safe one as they walked.

all humans will line up against the wall" said the Daleck "hurry, hurry."

"Its okay everyone just do as they say."

the human male is correct. all humans will now be categorized.

the darleck came up to the first man putting his plunger in front of his face. "this human has low intelligence, he shall become a pig slave."

then he came in front of Izzy placing his plunger in front of his face to scan him. "This human has very high intelligence. he shall become part of the final experiment."

Izzy's eyes widened "Your not gonna experiment on me you big tin cans. I'm Izzy Smith mate, check your records."

Izzy Smith is a companion to the doctor.

Our greatest enemy. It matters not you shall become part of the final experiment.

"My boyfriend is gonna find me and hes gonna kill you all." said Izzy trying to kick free.

said Izzy as they carried him away to the genetics lab. "Jack..." screamed Izzy as he called out.

The Dalecks strapped him to an operating slab placing a chameleon arch on his head. in the room with him were six other Dalecks and five other humans that were all strapped to similar tables. Izzy wasn't sure what they were up to. but he knew that that wanted to change his genetic makeup. which was never good and would hurt more than anything else. he couldn't help but think this was how he was going to die. here in the gutters of New York city.

"begin the final stage." one by one he saw people die in front of him taking at least five minits each. there were five people ahead of him which meant that Jack only had 25 minutes to save him from the 12 Dalecks that surround him.

Jack was getting closer, he could hear something he had thought never to hear again.
The loud and robotic voices of an enemy which he never expected to see again.

"That's impossible..." he hissed under his breath.
All Daleks had been killed in action, destroyed by the Doctor and that brilliant girl Rose Tyler.
How could they be back?

Not that Jack would run away now, his time traveling friend was in danger.
And he would never let anything happen to him.
Not while he was still breathing..and that meant something.

Jack finally found the place. A lab hidden in a building connected directly to the sewers.
The only problem now was how to get rid of those daleks..
His gun would have very little effect.

Izzy however was still wearing his vortex manipulator.
So instead of running in guns blazing Jack pressed his back against the wall and flipped open his own manipulator.
Tapping several buttons and settings to try and get Izzy out of there.

If this wouldn't work...he would have to go in and fight.
And he would do so if needed.

Unfortunately for Jack there was some sort of dampening field that blocked all outside technology from working.

Izzy struggled trying to break free from his restraints as another one bit the dust. "Hey Dalecks, I demand that you tell me what this final experiment of yours is!"

Izzy needed to keep them talking. for all he knew Jack might be around the cornner listening.

"obviously you got some sort of chameleon arch on my head to re-write my DNA, but why."

"to create a new race of Daleck."

"But, I thought that you guys were the superior race. why kidnapp humans and soil your perfect DNA."

the human is correct, why must we dirty our superior biology with Humans.

negative, the cult of Scarrow was formed by the creator to imagine new ways of surviving extinction.

"extinction... of course. you bunch are the last of your kind. and look at you now. hiding out in the sewers of an alien world like cowards."

Silence human, You shall become a human Daleck and help to bring about the new Daleck race.

"Great, Yet another alien wants my body. why am I not suprised..." Izzy joked trying to take tension off the situation.

meanwhile Bogie stood next to Jack around the corner listening. "I don't believe it. aliens from outer space. Izzy was telling the truth. Jack we gotta get the kid out of there. I think I can untie him if I could get close enough. if we just had a distraction or something."

Jack listened to those cold robotic voices.
Their plan was rediculous and incredibly nasty.
Daleks merging with humans? Why would they even try such a thing.

The man next to him caught his attention.
Of course, Jack wasn't doing this on his own.
"Leave the distraction to me...be sure to get him out of there fast.."

Jack gave the man a stern look before handing him the gun.
"Just in case..."

Without much of a warning Jack Harkness stepped from behind the wall.
Hands casually hidden in his pockets as he marched into the room.
A big grin on his face as he stared at the daleks.
"Well look at you guys! I haven't seen you in centuries! Where were you all hiding!?"

The Dalecks all tunred there attention to Jack as he entered the room with that Big grin on his face.

"Jack!" Izzy's eyes widened with excitement to see his night in shining armor. [/color]"I knew you would come.."[/color]

exterminate the tresspassar,

No, he shall be scanned and made part of the final experiment.

while all the Dalecks were distracted by Jack Humprey Bogart managed to sneek past them to the table that Izzy was strapped to and begin untieing him.

"you Okay kid?" asked Bogie in a whisper.

"yea, just get me out of this. And can i say being saved by you is tottaly turning me on right now."

"Now is not the time to flirt Izzy. crap, i cant undo the clamps. if we get out of this alive I'll kiss you on the mouth!"

"I'll hold you to that," said Izzy with a wide eyed smile, "Bogie reach into my pocket and take out the pen with the blue lightblub on the end and aim it at the controls. its one of my gizmos it will unlock me and the rest of the people the Dalecks have here."

Bogie aimed the sonic pen at the machine releasing Izzy and the other humans. all of them ran out scattering about

The humans are escaping, we have been decided exterminate!

one Daleck fired at jack killing him, temporarily of course. they then turned their fire to Izzy and Bogie who managed to out run them.

of course the Dalecks didn't give up that easily.

Dying still hurt, each time it happened Jack could feel every part of his body scream in agony.
And being shot by a Dalek was not comfortable, he had felt it before and even now he knew how it felt. It was horrible.

After a minute or so things cleared up again and the immortal came back with a gasp.
The Daleks rolling out to 'exterminate' his now fleeing friends.

Jack pushed himself off the floor and glanced around the place.
There needed to be a way of stopping them.
But somewhere he felt he wasn't the one who needed to stop them. As if there was someone else already planning on fixing this.

So instead of breaking down the building he tapped several keys on his vortex manipulator.
Disrupting the channel and sending a message to Izzy.
"You better leave this time stream, they're after you.."

You better leave this time stream they're after you!

Said Jack contacting Him threw his wrist communicator. Izzy thought for a moment realizing that this was no Place for someone as famous as Humphrey Bogart, he knew jack was right. if he was smart he would Teleiport Bogie someplace safe and let jack Handel it. but he couldn't leave Jack, He wouldn't He needed to prove to him that he was companion material. And not disappointing him like Angelo had.

"Jack I've never runaway from a fight in my life. So like it or not I'm going to stay here and have your back like always."



Meanwhile back in the swear the Dalecks found out that Jack was alive and three circled him.

"You were exterminated but are now alive. explain... explain!"



Said Izzy as he pressed a few buttons on his vortex manipulator popping back into the theater with Bogie.

"How did we get here?"

Teliport device in my watch. it allows me to be in once place one moment and appear in another the next. like a jump ya know." said Izzy trying to get bogie to understand the concept of 4th dimensional travel. he then went back to Bogies dressing room where he left his bag that contained his ray gun. He turned the knob from stun to kill.

"Bogie I gotta go kill some aliens. you stay here and try not to die or alter the future or anything."

"Your going off to kick alien butt and you expect me to just sit here and wait."

"No, I didn't think you would...Here's looking at you kid!" Said Izzy as he kissed Bogart on the lips. Bogie was a bit surprised at first until the sedative in his chap stick hit him and he passed out.

Izzy appeard in front of Jack fireing one round into each of the darlecks eye stalks killing them stone dead. after which he brought the gun up to his lips blowing on the smoking tip.

"Id ask if your okay but you always are. You saved me!" said Izzy with a wide eyed stare as he looked into Jack's eye's. now that he had saved the world he wanted for Jack to ask him to be his companion. he wanted so badly to be his companion...
