She stared at Jim as he explained the creatures to them, what they could and had done then came to a large door. Jim looked into it and, to her surprise, punched through the glass in a rage of some kind. Tess gasped and Sarah Jane had pulled her away, did Jim just try to kill whatever was in there? If so there were probably better ways of doing so, you know like a sling shot or a bullet through the little slot, then again military bases didn't allow guns to be carried by random people. O.k, it was solidified, she wanted to see what was in that room, the thing which was called the Silence. If what Jim said was true she wouldn't want to kill it, she'd never seen this moon landing of theirs so she wouldn't try to kill it right?
Soon however they were moving and the redhead had to follow. Sarah Jane wanted her to stay away from these particular places, Chris' office and the SPECTERS area...that was no fun, she wanted to see it. It would be better to see what the possible danger would be wouldn't it? But no, she was going to have to stay behind...but there were snacks and things she could mess with so that was fine.
--------------
THUD, SMASH, these were the sounds that could be heard through parts of the facility as men fell to the floor in incredible pain or unconscious. The cause was something unexpected, a figure, smallish in size and frame, looking to thin for her own good and lets face...she was! that's what living on the street for your life can do to you. The figure held herself with confidence and moved quickly, taking out anyone who crossed her path.
Locks of short red hair from a wig which looked perfectly real flying around her head as she moved and took out guard after guard. She was pale, looked rather unhealthy and exhausted. Bending down to ward one of the unconscious guards and removed his clothing and placed it over top of her own, just the jacket and weapons and pass card and hat. She ran then, through hall after hall unknowingly toward the location of Jim, Sarah Jane Smith and the alien created teenagers dwelling in the area at that time.
She knew Jim and, as much as she hated to admit it, he was pretty much the only person here she wouldn't want to see dead. She knew him and he would know her, even in her disguise. She was a kid and he was an adult who actually seemed to care about her a little bit, more so then everyone else in this damnable place.
She ran around the corner as fast as she could and skidded to a halt in front of Jim and the strangers he was with; if they'd been guards she would have taken them down but they weren't so she couldn't. Kenzi stood there staring, unable to think of what t say in this situation and unable to back up into another hall way or the guards will catch her....again! Yup, this is not the first time she's gotten out, not by a long shot. This girl, this supposedly human girl called Kenzi escapes almost daily and gets pretty far, a few times she's gotten all the way out but keeps coming back because the thrill of the escape, the adrenalin rush is perfect, the ultimate game. Thats what makes it so perfect.
She blinked at Jim, he wouldn't tell on her right? she couldn't get caught this time, she had to leave today.

"Jim, I'm sorry. There was no need for me to say that so harshly. It was just that Lutessa was near. I guess I'm more protective of her -"
She broke off as she saw Jim hear something that she could not. Her first instinct was to get back to Tess, but she was with military men and she trusted them to protect her if only because of her youth and beauty. Besides, it might be nothing. But it was something. Now she could hear it. Someone running, someone running, someone with light steps. Steps that were quickly heading their way.
Not being a fool, she got herself just off and back from Jim's ruined arm, putting him between herself and whomever, or whatever, was heading their way. She was not relieved that it was a small, weary looking girl with a short spray of perfectly red hair. Weary was an understatement. The 'young woman' was shockingly pale. Well, whatever trouble this was, Sarah Jane was glad the trouble had found her and not Lutessa. She wasn't going to ever let the girl out of her site again.

"Jim, I'm sorry. There was no need for me to say that so harshly. It was just that Lutessa was near. I guess I'm more protective of her -"
Jim sighed. "Yeah, I guess I understand. If our situations were reversed, and it was me and Jasmine, I'd probably..."
He trailed off, hearing the sounds of running feet. Cautiously, trying not to raise any alarms, he moved to put himself between the civilians and... whatever it was that was approaching. It's light, he judged, from the sound of the footsteps, Maybe one of the Stooges?
He rather hoped it was. He wouldn't mind punching one of the Stooges into submission...
And then the girl rounded the corner. She was in oversized BDUs, probably taken from an unconscious guard, and she skidded to a halt in front of the cyborg and the two women. He gave her a cool stare, noting that the increased exertion still hadn't brought her body temperature up to human normal. He sighed.
"Are you breaking out this time, or breaking in?" He smiled his rictus of a smile. "I need to know, so I file the paperwork properly."

Tess stared at Sarah Jane as she heard light footsteps running toward them, the guards seemed to ignore it though, as if it were a normal occurrence and nothing to worry about. So, she wouldn't worry, not yet at least. Sarah Jane and Jim on the other hand seemed a bit worried, of course, Jim wasn't that much since he probably delt with this kind of thing allot.
Emerald eyes fixated on the small girl, she was the same hight as Sarah Jane: She had red hair like Tess did, the girl noted and icy blue eyes filled with...what was that emotion in her eyes? There were so many but why? She wanted to ask and who better then the girl herself, but she didn't. "Whose she?" she asked quietly toward the small party. --------------------------------------------
The other redhead stood there, staring at the three people, but no guards...wait, they were ignoring her! That wasn't nice, she was supposed to be chased, shot at, or something, but noooo instead the guards were ignoring her, that was rude and would not be stood for.
"Whose she?" A voice had asked taking her thoughts from the stupidness of that currently possibly selfish seaming one, she noticed another girl, another redhead with shining curious eyes the color of an emerald sea. The smaller girl looked at the other redhead and frowned before looking back toward Jim. "I'm bustin' outa here." she explained simply. "Don't let them make extra food though, I won't be back for dinner this time, I don't want to be here anymore." She explained, crossing her arms as she spoke. To her joy, a guard came around the corner, a singular guard...for her maybe?
Before anyone could stop her, she moved toward the redhead and the other women beside her and past Jim. She wouldn't hurt them. Stopping in front of the slightly taller redhead, her sky eyes fixated on the others emerald eyes. Reaching out, she placed her hand the others face and turned it slightly for a better examination before stating simply. "This is no place for children." She was a child herself and she knew it, everyone knew it just as soon as they looked at her.
"As for who I am...." she began, hands removed from the girls body but close enough, moving toward the girls neck, not for any frightening horrible reason just to get to her hands which were below her head of course. Before she could continue, a large hand gripped her small body and slammed it up against the wall, the guard...why hadn't she heard him coming? Had she been to distracted at the time? She was never distracted.
As the body came in contact with the wall, an audible thud could be heard from the bones in the too thin, too pale arms colliding with the metal walls, all breath taken out of the body for a few seconds. "Ask him!" she stated motioning to Jim as she hit the wall just barely able to finish the statement. He knew more then she knew about herself, everyone did, or at least she thought he did...why else would she be here? The guards remaining hand quickly snatched the jacket from the small frame, exposing the scrawny arms riddled with needle marks and bruises from the drug tests that were done on her in this place. There was some kind of interest in Kenzi that seemed to escape her knowledge. "I wasn't ganna do anything ya' bother!" she shrieked at the guard who in tern let her go, dropping to the floor before walking away...his idea of a lesson was to knock the wind out of her and make her body hurt?
Standing up from her place, she moved herself back in front of Jim, no more jacket to hide the proof of testing that Jim either did or didn't know was happening to her. "Heya Jimmy, What's the haps?" she asked as she threw her arms around him quickly in an awkward little hug. She did like him most out of everyone here and showed it weather he liked it or not. She then backed off and crossed her arms once more, leaning against the wall.
If one were to look closely enough, they'd notice the women was probably pumped full of drugs, each designed to do something different to her, some made her nauseous, some made her tired, some made her dizzy and see what wasn't there. Yet, she still had managed to get as far as she had with only a slight problem every once in a while.
(Whats the haps-whats happening with everything? in case you needed to know. Also Jimmy is what she calls him cause she can.)

Jim started to round on the guard that had slammed Kenzi into the wall, when a quiet clearing of the throat seemed to cut through everything.
Chris stood at the corner, both hands resting lightly on the silver handle of his cane. His expression was soft, carefully neutral, and somehow utterly terrifying. "You, there," he said, addressing the guard as he walked forward. His tone was not threatening, his body language seemed to be relaxed, but a palpable air of menace followed him.
"Uhm... yes, sir?"
Chris stopped less than six inches from the guard, deliberately within his personal space. He glanced up and down the guard, then looked at Kenzi, then at Jim. "She's back, again?"
"Pretty obvious, isn't it?"
Chris glanced at the guard again, then at Kenzi again, then at Jim. "Voluntarily?"
"As far as I know."
Chris looked back at the guard. "And you decided to rough her up for leaving?" The guard started to speak, and Chis cut him off. "Go. Request a transfer. Never let me see you again."
He looked back at Jim. "Do me a favor. Tell the General I'll be speaking with him about this, shortly."
He looked back at the guard. "Are you still here?"
At that, the guard fled. He turned back to the group, and bowed. "My apologies," he said, his voice sounding sincere. "You should not have had to see something like that. Kenzi, may I escort you from the base? You have my word that you will be allowed to depart. I will see to that. Personally."

She was neither surprised or even very upset when she realized Lutessa had slipped her escort and found her way back here almost instantly. Sarah Jane would be the kettle calling the pot black. It was easy to understand. She was very alert as this Kenzi took such sharp interest in Tess, but did not intervene, either Jim or Tess were faster than she was, and the girl was a slip of a thing.
Speaking of the pot calling the kettle black, she could hardly fault the Majestic-12 for keeping close tabs on a minor female who must have some sort of unusual attribute besides spunk and spit. Sarah Jane was doing much the same with Lutessa, though she bound her with true friendship, not walls. Not violence. But she would, if she had to. She didn't even want to think about Torchwood's holding cells, and it wasn't as if she'd stormed their headquarters.
All of this went through the back of her mind to keep her from launching herself at any of the men in the room and strangling them with her bare hands. Sarah Jane was seeing red. There was no need for her to speak until she calmed down. It would not help.
When Chris gave them a quite sincere apologetic bow, she gave him her best poker face. Suspended judgment. Then she pinned Lutessa with her gaze, and Sarah Jane's expressions were clear. First she was thinking 'what the heck are you doing here?' and her next thought was 'stay close to me'.

Tess looked at the guard as Chris lectured him and sent him away, a small smile slowly spread on her face as she watched. He deserved to get into trouble...he'd assaulted the new girl, the one with the marks on her arms...those marks were from needles weren't they.
Before she could stop herself, Tess reached out and took the one of the girls arms and began to look at it closely, turning it over as best she could without disturbing the her too much. "Did it hurt?" she asked, looking directly into Kenzi's eyes, trying to read her emotions and failing miserably. She wanted to know what was put into her with the needles or what was taken out, people took blood out with needles sometimes too so it could have been either.
Looking over at Sarah Jane, Tess nodded and gave a look that clearly read that she'd been curious about the new commer and hadn't deemed her much of a threat even from far away.
-------------------------
The sky blue abyss of the girls eyes fixated onto the emerald ones of the other redhead as the guard left and a small discussion regarding Kenzi's return or departure. A pare of hands grabbed hold of her arm and she jumped a little, startled and very much not used to the contact. Her head jolted toward Lutessa as she spoke...did it hurt? Did getting constantly poked and prodded hurt? "....yeah." she admitted bitterly and with shame in her voice. She was ashamed that she'd allowed it to continue and that she was admitting to being hurt. Rule 3 of street life, don't admit to weakness.
"Kenzi, may I escort you from the base? You have my word that you will be allowed to depart. I will see to that. Personally." Chris' voice pulled her from hre shame filled thought process and back toward the rest of the group. Chris frightened her in a way, she couldn't place it but he just did, there was something sort of...wrong about him weather he knew or not and she had to figure out what it was.
Hesitating momentarily she cleared her throat and spoke to Chris. "Well, Chris as long as I'm here I might as well tag along. I see we're having a little field trip with the kiddies." she said grinning at Tess rather smugly. "I'd like to see whatever your showing them....Also, before this continues I wanna know what the hell I was even doing here to begin with, Why me? Whats so Rassilon special about me?!?" she asked almost shouting at the man with the silver cane. she

"What's so Rassilon special about you?" Chris echoed. "Beyond the fact that you know that name?"
He eyed Kenzi thoughtfully, then made a decision. "Why don't you come along with me to my lab? I believe I can answer some of your questions, and perhaps point you in a suitable direction to get the rest answered. Jim, and Ms. Smith and her daughter, will no doubt be stopping by presently, and we can drink coffee and engage in pleasant conversation about 'Rassilon' until then."

Sarah Jane didn't like the direction of this conversation at all. Why would she need to go to his lab for conversation? Why not out in the sun? She riveted her eyes on the Time Lord, not relenting, until he deemed to notice her.
"Chris, whatever happens, I expect to see Kenzi in the flesh, face to face, within the next two hours." She doesn't even bother to make a threat. They knew each other now.
Light as a cat her own hand flashed down gently capture one of the diminutive girl's arms, thin and scarred as a junkie's. She took another look at that arm, then at Chris as she let go of the girl. Majestic -12 had cared for their ward poorly. "I see your tight budget here includes cutting corners on plastic surgery and nurses who can find a vein." For instinct told her it had not been Kenzi who had managed her vein access so badly.
She wondered if Kenzi was human. Gallifreyan? Did she have anything to do with the TARDIS in the hanger?

Tess watched silently as the exchange took place and listened to the words...was there something different about the other girl apparently named Kenzi? What was Rassilon anyway? She'd find out eventually but till then, the girl remained silent.
-------------
Kenzi stared at Chris as he spoke, offering to take her to his office to discuss whatever she had to talk about. "You of all people should know my now that I'm smart enough to know not to go into people's offices just to have a conversation...specially of one of my captors." she stated firmly.
Another hand touched her arm and she looked over to see the older of the women holding onto her arm lightly and speaking with Chris. "I doubt they even looked for a vein." she said, annoyance lacing her voice.
Turning over to Chris once more she frowned and moved her head to the side in curiosity. "And what if I do know that name, whatsittoya?" she asked, ice blue eyes glazing over

"You of all people should know my now that I'm smart enough to know not to go into people's offices just to have a conversation...specially of one of my captors," Kenzi added
Chris managed to look both offended and confused at the same time. "Ms. Smith," he said, a trifle coldly, "If I had intended any harm to her, I wouldn't have called that guard off in the first place."
He looked at Kenzi. "And you, of all people, should know that I had no part in any of what happened to you. Except for my foolishness in assuming I had been told the truth, when I demanded your release."
Light as a cat her own hand flashed down gently capture one of the diminutive girl's arms, thin and scarred as a junkie's. She took another look at that arm, then at Chris as she let go of the girl. He glanced at Kenzi's scarred arm, and he scowled. "It seems," he said slowly, "that there will have to be a few changes made." A strange, flickering light danced in his eyes, quickly fading away.
Turning over to Chris once more she frowned and moved her head to the side in curiosity. "And what if I do know that name, whatsittoya?"
"It is a name with a history," Chris said, "as well as a name with no history whatsoever." He smiled. "The simple fact that you know his name marks you as special."
He bowed to her then, gracefully. "It would be an honor to speak further with you of such matters. If you do not trust me sufficiently to speak in private, and I understand your reasons for not trusting me, then perhaps we may arrange a time when you will have an escort? Perhaps this evening?"

Impasse. It was one of those odd moments that Sarah Jane Smith was uncertain what her next move should be. Her first instinct was to confront Chris about everything. Absolutely everything. However, she knew too well she was outmatched. Tess would back her play whatever it was, but Kenzi was an absolute wild card. Still, against a Time Lord, surely she would lose.
Chris seemed a very complex creature, and she had seen his humor, his kindness, his empathy. Part of her rather liked him. However, she had seen the flashes of madness in his eyes. She'd seen it in the eyes of every Time Lord she had known. The madness that shown through this Time Lord's eyes from time to time chilled her too the bone.
Dare she try to simply reason with the Americans? How high up in the echelon did she need to go before she found someone not part of the conspiracy? At this point, she and Tess would be too easily silenced.
She had achieved her basic goals. She knew where the heart of the trouble lay, both in cast and location. She had tested Lutessa under pressure and she had navigated it beautifully. She should go now. Soon. Cut this short. Ohh! But so many facts laying all over the place, just waiting to be the lynch pin by which she could yank this all down right into it's own footprint.
But then there was this girl. This tiny girl who had some connection with Gallifreyans, be she human or otherwise. Sarah Jane held up her hand and took a step forward, commanding everyone's attention.
"I am compelled to act as a mother, having both request and offer. Christopher. I've seen enough for one day. You've been most hospitable. Will you lend me a vehicle to take Lutessa and I to Black Rock City. I'd like to drive myself. Feel free to lend us something with a tracker. Something mid sized. I would like my Alien Detector returned.
Kenzi, would you like to come with us? My daughter Lutessa and I?"
Retreat.
Lutessa would build a giant TARDIS in the desert. She herself would go on a road trip. The plans had already been carefully made, though Lutessa did not yet know about her part to come.

Both redheads blinked in confusion at Sarah Jane's request to leave. Tess nodded in agreement, she'd agree to anything if she felt it was the right move and she did, she trusted Sarah Jane with everything. It would get too complicated later down the road if they stayed, something might happen that prevented them from leaving or...well something.
-------
Kenzi watched with interest as Sarah Jane addressed Chris, requesting to leave with her daughter and a vehicle to Black Rock. Where was that and why were they going to go there?
Sarah Jane wanted her to come with them? Why? Oh well, as long as she got away from here and found something fun to do then why not. "I'm ganna guess that Black Rock her far away so...Sure, roadtrip!!" she said with excitement, a road trip was the perfect thing to do. Up till this point Kenzi hadn't stayed in any place longer then a week, she hadn't even managed to stay in the lab or whatever these guys considered it for a week without several breakouts and then breakins right afterwards.

Chris started to say something, then stopped and nodded. "Yes. Of course." He glanced at Jim.
Jim nodded as well. "I'd hoped to introduce you to the rest of the SPECTERS, but... well, this is obviously uncomfortable." He smiled his rictus of a smile. "Let's get up to the motor pool, and I'll get you a car."
He held the elevator door for the three women, then stabbed the "G" button with a gloved finger. Then he produced a small business card ("Captain James Hayes; United States Army; First Company, First Platoon, Special Research Group; Camp Franklin Rock; 'Always to be best, and to be distinguished above the rest'). "Here," he said, "when you get back to your hotel, just give me a call and I'll have someone come out and pick the car up."
Chris joined them as they entered the elevator, giving Kenzi an odd, speculative look. "Kenzi," he asked as the elevator hummed its way upwards, "Does 'panopticon' mean anything to you? Or, perhaps," and here he spoke in a different language entirely, "time lord?"
Two words, spoken in a dead language that never existed. He waited to see what her response would be.

It was a great relief as Chris appeared to be letting them go. For one instant, she thought the just might break their truce right then and there, and the running and screaming would commence. She wondered how much Jim's presence had to do with the Time Lord's choice. It wouldn't do him much good to start waging war on women and children, she'd bet.
"Don't worry, Chris." She smiled easily."I'll be back."
She took Jim's card, though she didn't have much plan to go back to the hotel. Not that she intended to surprise them with it, but she didn't want to hash out the details with a Time Lord in the room. She felt like she was playing with a poisonous snake, and really now, just wanted to get away.
Sarah Jane couldn't have been less thrilled when Chris jumped onto the elevator. She couldn't quite help putting a shoulder between Lutessa and Chris, but quite frankly, she was going to let Jim handle Kenzi until they were out of there. Besides, she was just as curious as anyone else to hear the odd little girl's answer.
