Nathan nodded at the girl's question. "Yes, if you want to be friends with us...."
Tyler grinned. They had never had so many friends. This was very much different from the environment that they were used to.
"Science section?" Nathan asked. "That's...that's important....I hope you do that. I really don't know what I want to do."
________________________________ Meanwhile, Emmehujidat sat in his office within the Citadel. He would attend the initiation ceremony later. Right now, work needed to be done.
He impatiently tapped the top of his desk, waiting for several Time Lords who were loyal to him to show up. He had managed to harm one of the children earlier -- but that girl that had been with him -- what had his son said her name was -- Kyra? That sounded right.
Perhaps he could arrange it so that something went wrong with Kyra as she looked into the untempered schism. This wouldn't be the first time that Time Lords in positions of power interfered with the initiation ceremony. He just needed the right person who would agree to do it, and who had the influence necessary -- someone who was skilled in telepathy beyond the normal range.

"I'm expected to go into the prydonian chapter by my parents." Ieshana stated, and then thought, "Or into the Arcalian chapter at the very least." She added, and then nodded once. It would have been lonely to go into any of the chapter houses without someone else to be in the group. She however had no idea what it would be like once she looked into the schism. She did know one thing though, from all the stories she'd heard, it hurt to look into the very fabric, the foundation of time and space.

"Are you all right?" Hermione looked up at the man that approached her. "I---well...not really. I'm kind of scared." Hermione said honestly. "i haven't got any parents to comfort me and stuff so I'm absoloutely terrified." Hermione told the man, unsure of what his name was.

The first to arrive in Emmehujidat's office was the thin, grey form of Jestelavistisimiril. She entered, bowed low and murmured "My lord has summoned me?"
Waiting for his leave, she took her accustomed place in the corner of his office, to the left of where Emmehujidat sat. From there, she would be able to observe anyone in the room. She would be able to see the subtle cues they gave, be able to deduce motivations and behaviors.
From there, as well, she could move to kill without anyone being able to approach from a blind side.
The second to arrive was Apollonilisaimistiri, elegant in his white and blue. He bowed perfunctorily, a sardonic smile on his lips. Almost without awaiting word from his patron, he seated himself. His sapphire eyes flickered briefly from Emmehujidat to Jestelavistisimiril and back.
"Are we awaiting anyone else, Councilman?" he asked.
The Citadel grounds...
The trunk of a tree swung open, and the peacoated figure of the Meddler stepped outside. He stretched his arms, threw his head back, and breathed deeply. "Oh, yeah! That's the stuff!" As he exhaled, he pounded his fists against his chest.
"C'mon out, yeh two," he called back through the door. "We already checked, an' there's nobody close by. Jus' some kids over yonder, an' a gardener down that way."
He leaned back against the 'tree'. "Now, yehs wanna be careful, right?" he said through the door. "This's Gallifrey's past, so yehs can be muckin' about wit' yehr own past if'n yeh don't. So hold off, watch, an..."
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw one of the children knock another down and start kicking him.
"Oi!" he shouted, striding in the direction of the small group, "Oi, yeh there! Stop that, or Oi'll give yeh a clip 'round the ear, yeh 'orrible little man!"

Tyler glanced back at the girl who had answered his brother's question. "Oh....I don't think that my dad has an expectation of what academy I'm going into.....at least he hasn't told us. I think he was part of the prydonian chapter."
______________________ Tylerhathan nodded at Hermione. "That's understandable. I'm Tylerhathan, by the way...The initiation ceremony is always a risk...but the children who go insane tend to be those who have already exhibited some insane qualities. Now you haven't exhibited them, have you?"
Tylerhathan assumed that this young girl meant that she was terrified of going insane, as that happened to be the idea that scared the children facing initiation the most.
Then he added, "In truth, I'm worried....I have children who are going to take part in the ceremony."

Emmehujidat studied his minions as they entered his office, each giving him the proper respect that he felt he deserved. He had chosen his servants well, both from socially high families, at least as far as he was concerned, and both were loyal to him.
Shortly after the other two had arrived, Braxofgukr entered the room. Although he wasn't always one that Emmehujidat considered using for his services, this was one of the occasions in which the man would be consulted.
Braxofgukr gave a proper bow to Emmehujidat as he entered the room, moving to sit in one of the chairs in another corner of the office.
Having acknowledged each person who had entered his office with a nod, Emmehujidat turned to face them all, looking from one to the other, slowly. This put Braxofgukr at somewhat of a discomfort. Seeing that each player was in his or her customary location, Emmehujidat answered the question that he'd been asked just before Braxofgukr had arrived.
"Well, possibly...I did summon a few others, but they may have had other things to do. You three have shown your loyalty to me in this matter, which will not be forgotten. There is a young child who gave my son a hard time earlier -- her name is Kyra, and I she cannot go unpunished. What do you purpose we do with her? I was thinking of making something happen as she looks into the untempered schism, but we will have to be cautious. The Specialist will be on the watch." _________________________ Eiougougol glanced up as an adult came along and meddled with his fun with Nathanial. Frowning, he told the Meddler, "But he pushed me down first -- he harassed me earlier, and I didn't do anything. Then he beat me up, so this time I'm not going to let him get away with it."
Eiougougol stared at the Meddler and another male Time Lord, and a female Time Lord that were with them. None of them looked important, but an adult was an adult. If he could play his cards just right, he'd still get the results that he wanted, even if he normally wouldn't associate with such adults.
The Hunter had followed the Meddler out of the other Time Lord's TARDIS, leading Kyra with him. As soon as he saw Eiougougol and the boy that would later become the Mentalist, a sicking feeling came over him. These two boys had harassed him throughout his years in the Academy. The red head being kicked was the Mentalist before he'd looked into the schism, before he became mean. He was still the Mentalist, and the Hunter couldn't help but shiver as he saw the boy. He wanted to tell the Meddler to leave the boys be -- and to let the red head get beaten up. This would be the only opportunity anyone would have to beat the kid up without getting seriously hurt themselves.
Not sure that telepathy would be a safe method of communicating with the Meddler, the Hunter tugged at the Meddler's arm, giving him a stern look and frowning.
If the Meddler caused trouble for Eiougougol, then they might be caught. Eiougougol's father was on the High Council, and anything that happened to Eiougougol found a way of haunting the person who had annoyed Eiougougol.
Not caring if it endangered them, the Hunter sent a message to the Meddler, "Don't....I'm serious...these two boys ....you don't want to mess with them. It could interfere with events, and put us in a lot of danger. That is the Mentalist that he is kicking...let him be kicked. Don't try to stop it...and that is Eiougougol, Emmehudjidat's son who you just confronted."
Tyler did his best to try to hold the Meddler back from the two boys.

Hermione looked at Tylerhathan and smiled a little. "My name's Hermione. Hey, I'm sure you're kids will be fine. So which ones are they?" Hermione asked. It was nice to have someone to talk to even if it wasn't her age.

The Specialist found herself drawn towards the Initiation Ceremony as she was every year. Her attention was inexplicably drawn towards a sensation she felt. A disturbance in the usual turbulence of time around her. Her eyes focused as she found her feet ghosting across the ground. That ground eating stride she was so well known for. She approached the group of children, several wore good clothing. She wore her uniform for the Initiation Ceremony. A specialist uniform - and one that people were careful to never mention to their children. With the exception of - the ghost woman comes if you are insane.
Well that really annoyed her at times, as this was told right before the Ceremony - which really caused issues if they saw her BEFORE it. Which was what was going to happen now - as she felt the disturbance. It was surrounding the three adults talking to the children. She didn't know what was going on - but she could see that a fight had started, and from the turbulence in the time shift - she knew at least that it was being perpetrated on the red haired boy. At least that's all she could really know, asides for the fact that the boy talking had a really sneaky look to his features - and that made her think that he was trying to turn this around on the red head.
Like all of the High Council children tended to do. Despicable lot - the whole of them usually.
"You - Eiougougol!" She called out. Yes she knew most of the children at camp by name, and because of their similarities to their genetics. As well as the fact that the High Council's children were always easy to notice. "What are you doing to him? And don't give me that he bumped into you first. Because that is NOT a good enough excuse to start beating on him." She stated as she approached. Pristine white uniform, and ghost like features. She was definitely not someone to mess with, especially considering that her eyes turned towards the three that had recently arrived.
"And you three, we need to speak once we are done." She KNEW what one of them was, what his name was, but he hadn't been to any Initiation she had seen - and she had been to them all. She had never encountered him before, and his time signature seemed fresh - kind of similar to a boy she had treated. SO that meant, he was from the future. So was the other two.

Eiougougol glanced up as an adult came along and meddled with his fun with Nathanial. Frowning, he told the Meddler, "But he pushed me down first -- he harassed me earlier, and I didn't do anything. Then he beat me up, so this time I'm not going to let him get away with it."
The Meddler rolled his eyes. "Now, Oi don't ken if'n yeh an' him have issues, but Oi'll give yeh a bit o' free advice fer next time: if'n yehr gonna claim self-defense when yeh knock someone down an' start kickin' them, yehr gonna have an easier time bein' believed if'n yehr mates ain't standin' 'round laughin' 'bout it."
His eyes swept over the group of children. "Right? Now lets have no more o' this, or Oi'll give yehs a clip 'round the earhole, Oi will."
It was about then that he got the sense - dimly - that the Hunter was trying to communicate with him, telepathically. Mebbe Oi should've mentioned me handicap, he thought.
(To the Hunter's mental senses, the Meddler's mind was howling static with snatches of syllables and half-heard words.)
He looked down at the red-head, curled up on the ground. "Are yeh all right, son?"
"You - Eiougougol!"
The Meddler looked up in surprise to see a pale woman in a white uniform striding across the lawn towards him. Bloody hell, he thought, one o' them. We've got troubles.
"Hunter? Kyra?" he said in a stage whisper. "Stay calm, act natural. An' if'n Oi give the word, scarper for me TARDIS."
"What are you doing to him? And don't give me that he bumped into you first. Because that is NOT a good enough excuse to start beating on him."
"And you three, we need to speak once we are done."
The Meddler straightened up, brushing grass from his knees. "Sure thing."
"Well, possibly...I did summon a few others, but they may have had other things to do," said Emmehujidat. "You three have shown your loyalty to me in this matter, which will not be forgotten. I was thinking of making something happen as she looks into the untempered schism, but we will have to be cautious. The Specialist will be on the watch."
Apollonilisaimistiri started, not quite managing to suppress the laughter in his voice. "We've," he said disbelievingly, "we've been summoned to help take revenge on an eight year old?"
"It is what Lord Emmehujidat asks of us," replied the whisper-soft voice of Jestelavistisimiril. "You would do well to remember that."
Apollon's eyes went hard. "I have not forgotten that he is my Patron," he answered. "It just seems to me that this is, well, overkill. Tampering with the Initiation? That's the sort of thing that attracts the attentions of the Chancellery Castellan if it come out, and I'd rather not spend more months with his thugs prying into my affairs."
He looked at Emmehujidat. "Particularly since it would come on the heels of the Specialist setting Velesethari on us after the... mysterious injury inflicted on one of Tylerhathan's bastards. Could this not wait? Anticipation lends a certain savor to execution, after all."

The little boy, who'd been kicked quite badly by another one of the kids, lay on the ground still. He didn't appear to be conscious at all, as he had lack of movement and speech.
His stomach ached from the point of impact and no wonder, the boy had hit him very hard. It was so strong, that it had caused a trickle of blood to escape the boy's inside and drip down the side of his mouth. Nathaniel's head had suffered some damage too, the side of his head grazing a little, his red hair becoming slightly sticky and redder. It had looked as if the boy wouldn't wake up, but a tiny cough came from him and more blood escaped his mouth. It covered the boy's bottom lip and a shaky hand came from the child's side and wiped it off. The hand then dropped, covering the sore area on his stomach, the palm on the site in injury. His body then curled up into a fetal position and small, muffled sobs could be heard. His tiny voice piped up and replied to the man, who'd asked him if he was alright. His answer was simple; "N-n-no."
The child had noticed he'd drawn a crowd of people around him, but didn't care. He was in too much pain to care.

Tylerhathan replied to Hermione, "Their names are Nathan and Tyler. Their actual names are longer, but they generally go by those shortened names."
He looked back at the girl and nodded, "Yes, they should be fine...."
To be completely honest, he was more concerned with some of the High Council members than he that his kids wouldn't be able to pass the initiation ceremony. One of them had tried to hurt Tyler's chances by injuring him on the day of the camp registration. It hadn't worked; Tyler had managed to make it through camp, despite his several injuries.
___________________________________ Eiougougol frowned as the Specialist approached. His father hated her, and thus, Eiougougol hated her, too. She had also just approached him and yelled his name without even showing him the proper respect that he felt that he deserved.
"Well, you're a rude one," Eiougougol said to the Specialist's face. "I guess you don't know who my father, because if you did, you wouldn't speak to me like that. You're obviously not in my social calls, and my dad talks about you all the time. I guess I'm not going to show you any respect either." With that, he did what children sometimes do. He stuck out his tongue at her.
"He did bump into me first...but fine...I'll stop." He didn't actually want to get into trouble, and he'd caused a scene now. Besides, the red head was spewing blood. He didn't actually want to make the other kid have to regenerate. There were witnesses, after all.
Eiougougol smirked as he noticed that the Specialist had turned her attention to the three grown ups who had just arrived. He stuck out his tongue at them. He assumed that they must be in trouble for some reason. He liked it when adults in lower social classes got into trouble.
_______________________ The Hunter watched as Nathanial started coughing up blood. Although this little boy would grow into the boy and later Time Lord who would beat him up in a similar manner, he regretted thinking that the boy deserved it. Eiougougol was being cruel. He didn't like Eiougougol any more than he liked the Mentalist. Finally, he had to turn away. He couldn't stand seeing a child in pain, even if it was the Mentalist before he became the Mentalist. No child deserved this treatment. He felt guilty for wanting this little boy to be beat up, especially when he knew what it was like to be beat up himself.
"I'm sorry," he said out loud to no one in particular.
However, it was when the Specialist had turned to address himself, Kyra, and the Meddler, that Tyler visibly shook slightly. He noticed the way that she had looked at him, almost with a hint of recognition. But did she really know it was him? She had treated him as a child -- which would be several months before the initiation ceremony. Trying to avoid looking into her eyes, he replied, "All right."
He noticed Eiougougol stick his tongue out at them, but he chose to ignore it. The little brat didn't deserve any comment. He was an adult -- he could so easily harm the child, but he knew that that wouldn't do him any good. He'd be caught for sure. That and he would mess up the time line and events.
Eiougougol next turned to face the Meddler, "But he DID knock me down. All my friends saw it! Look, I have grass marks on my pants." He pointed to grass stains on his pants that looked fresh.
The Hunter nodded at the Meddler, although it was hard to remain calm when the Specialist had specifically singled them out.
As the Meddler brushed off grass from his pants, Tyler sneezed. Frowning, he hoped that none of the kids had noticed. He couldn't remember if any of them had found out that he was allergic to the Gallifreyan grass at that point in their time lines. _________________________________ Emmehujidat nodded respectfully at two of his minions.
"Well, we cannot stay in power if we do not make sure that certain Time Lords maintain their ruling positions. Consider it an investment. I have in my possession a possible future prophecy of Gallifrey. It is of course not necessarily Gallifrey's future -- but this prophecy carried much fear. Why not make sure that this fear is...instilled in certain children? With them rendered useless due to fear, our control over Gallifrey can be certain. I will not allow Gallifrey to fall into the hands of weaker families. If it does, the future that was in the prophecy could become a reality."
He leaned back in his chair, eying each one of them. "Yes, partially this would be revenge, but it goes deeper than that."
Emmehujidat turned to face Apollonilisaimistiri directly. "There are ways that we could affect the initiation ceremony which would not directly involve us, that no one would be able to trace back to me..or us. It's been done before. Perhaps we could plant a seed at the initiation in certain children...and that seed would germinate and then grow over time so that no one would even notice it at the initiation ceremony -- not even the Specialist. She doesn't know children's signatures before they actually look into the schism, so she wouldn't know the difference if something came out of it -- something extra, but nothing that would force the child to be helped by the Specialist."
"Your thoughts?" he asked the three of them.

The Specialist nodded to the Meddler with a soft notion and turned towards the children again. "You wills peak to an adult with respect. I hold more standing then you - and your father hates me because of the things I've done for your family." She stated as she glared at him and then braced a fist on her hip and glared at him rather darkly. "Stick your tongue out at me again - and I'll make sure you'll be getting in trouble. Remember, I'm The Specialist, I'm the one that decides if you make it through - if the Schism does anything to you." She threatened softly.
It was an empty threat, but this child - perhaps she's let stay insane if he did so. His father had a rather erratic and dangerous signature. She turned to look towards the others. "I'm treating the boy - then we are speaking." She stated as she crouched next to the young red head. "What is your name child?" She asked lightly and then turned towards the High Council's child and his stuck up friends. "Beat it! I can't do my work with you hovering, you scavengers. It's just some grass stains - and you'll be fine. He's bleeding and if his Initiation is effected because of you - I'm going to make sure you get punished. SO GO!" She growled out.
In the defense of a child - she could easily kill. The tall and well built woman then pulled her small med pack out and started scanning the red head. Her eyes focusing on the group. "Stay there please, I just need to speak to you." She said gently to them - then turned her attention to the injured child.

(Sorry it's so short.)
The child, still curled up, heard the scanner going over him. He became frightened as some sense came back to him. He started to notice things, the pain and all these people were really starting to make him scared. Bringing himself even closer together, he muttered, trying not to wail out in pain at this lady. At least, he thought it was a lady from the way she spoke. "N-n....N-nat-thaniel..." The little boy coughed and spat out some more blood. He clutched the top of his stomach now, the pain spearing through him. From where he was holding it, it seemed like he may have a broken rib. The tears kept streaming down the child's face.

Quick as lightning, the Meddler's hand lashed out and grabbed Eiougougol by the ear. "Yeh horrid little git," he snarled, "Lippin' off to yehr elders like that? Yeh kin apologize to the Specialist all proper like, like yeh means it. An' then yeh can write a thousand lines, all sayin' 'Oi'm sorry fer bein' a horrid little git ta Nathaniel, an' Oi won't do it again'."
He looked Eiougougol in the eyes, and his voice went hard. "An' if'n yeh turn 'em in to the Specialist here afore the Initiation, then mebbe we won't 'ave to fail yeh an' send yeh outta the Citadel ta live wit' the Shobogans."
His eye caught each of Eiougougol's group in turn. "An' all the rest o' yehs?" he barked, "Five hundred lines each, all sayin' 'Oi'm sorry fer not stickin' up fer Nathaniel, who's a fellow applicant, an' Oi'll ne'er abandon an Academy mate in need again', or it's the same for all yeh."
