It was really bothering him now.
Something was out of place. Something important. He could feel it prickling in the back of his mind, but whatever it was stayed just out of reach. Wether it was bad or just wrong, the Doctor couldn't decide. It might have just been plain wierd, like a new green leaf in the dead of winter. It was waiting, biding its time, teasing him. Not ready.
Turning the corner, the Doctor came into view of the Tyler's apartment. His eyes lit up immediately, a spring moving into his step. Rose! She was already outside, coming towards him! She looked gloomy, maybe a little bit upset, but she was still walking towards him. He smiled, giving himself a mental pat on the back. He knew, he just knew, she was ready to make amends. She couldn't live without him now.
When they had closed the gap between them, the Doctor tilted his head to the side, gaze sparkling with mischief. "Don't say it, I know exactly what you're here for." he winked at her, throwing out his arms. "I'm sorry too. Even if your mum is a bad cook."

He's SMILING?!? Rose thought angrily, her temper rising another notch.
When they had closed the gap between them, the Doctor tilted his head to the side, gaze sparkling with mischief. "Don't say it, I know exactly what you're here for." he winked at her, throwing out his arms. "I'm sorry too. Even if your mum is a bad cook."
Rose stood there, eyes wide and unblinking, anger bubbling up inside. "YOU THINK I'M HERE TO APOLOGIZE?!?" She advanced on him, pushing him on his chest with one arm. Not enough that he'd topple, but enough that he'd be thrown off balance. He needed to be thrown off balance, the man who was so sure of himself all the time to the point of lunacy.
Not caring how loud she was she continued. "WHAT THE HELL DO I HAVE TO APOLOGIZE FOR DOCTOR?" she shouted, pushing him on again on the word "Hell." "YOU TOOK AN HOUR YESTERDAY - AN *HOUR* - TO TELL ME JUST HOW INSIGNIFICANT, STUPID, AND UNGRATEFUL I AM. AND *I'M* SUPPOSED TO BE SORRY FOR BEING *CONCERNED* ABOUT YOU?!?"
She stared at him for a second, ready to go on yelling.

As David approached his favorite residential section, something seemed off -- very off. There was a couple who seemed to be screaming at each other. Hating to see people fight, and yet not really knowing what to do, he approached them.
"Is there a problem here?" he asked. As he looked at the couple, a faint hint of recognition passed across his features. He'd dreamed about both of these people.
________________ Tyler, who had been sitting at the piano bench began to play a melody that he couldn't remember where he'd learned it. It was Gallifreyan, but he didn't know. He was in the habit of playing it every morning. As he began to play, something caught his attention. Yelling. Although this wasn't unusual for the area, he figured that he'd better make sure that the people were all right.
Abruptly stopping in the midst of his playing, he rushed outside. Stopping just short of the couple and another man, he watched from a short distance. If anything to physical, he would call the police.

Rose looked at the intruder, taken aback. "Uh..." she stumbled before gathering her words. "Everything's...fine." she said, feeling uncomfortable letting anyone in on their "conversation." This was not an argument most others would quite understand. "We're just having a bit of a row..."
Wow, understatement, Rose thought. She waited, hoping for the man to go away, keeping her anger out of her face, though it was still bubbling in her chest.

Ten looked from Nine to Rose intently. "Wait...I think we've met before....but I'm not sure...maybe I've just seen the two of you around. Have we met?"
He knew that the couple was in the middle of a fight, and probably would not appreciate his intrusion, but he couldn't ignore the deep feeling in the back of his mind that he knew these people, and that he should know them.
"I feel like we've met before...."

His cheerful attitude, something which had been rare to him lately, quickly diminished. His friend was furious, getting up into his face and yelling for the whole world to hear. For a moment, the Doctor wondered if he was with Rose Tyler or her mother. He had seen her angry and he had been at the receiving end of that anger before, but this explosion of rage surprised him.
"YOU THINK I'M HERE TO APOLOGIZE?!?" she shoved him in the chest, making him stumble backward. "Ow," he started lamely, his brain stalling for anything better to say. "WHAT THE HELL DO I HAVE TO APOLOGIZE FOR DOCTOR?" Rose hit him again. Doing his best to hold his ground, the Doctor couldn't help leaning away from the girl to try and avoid further attack. "What was that for?" he exclaimed, completely at a loss. "What have I done?"
"YOU TOOK AN HOUR YESTERDAY - AN *HOUR* - TO TELL ME JUST HOW INSIGNIFICANT, STUPID, AND UNGRATEFUL I AM. AND *I'M* SUPPOSED TO BE SORRY FOR BEING *CONCERNED* ABOUT YOU?!?"
"Now hold on," he snapped, glaring at her. "No one could insult you for a whole hour. You're like a rhinocerous. I take one step wrong, and you start plowing me down. More like five minutes, maybe."
"Is there a problem here?"
A fellow had stumbled upon them and was watching now with an expression of mixed confusion and concern. The Doctor only glanced at him, not happy that their squabble was attracting attention. "Yeah, fine." he answered gruffly. "Everything's...fine." Rose confirmed at the same time, becoming visibly calm. "We're just having a bit of a row..."
"Yeah, a bit." the Doctor added sarcastically, rolling his eyes in time to see another man watching from a short distance. He wanted both strangers to go away. Putting his hands in his pockets, the Time Lord turned to look at the person who had interupted the fight to begin with. He was talking again. The confused look on his face had deepened. The Doctor was just about to call him an idiot and tell him to get along when he realized what the stranger was saying.
"I feel like we've met before...."
Looking him up and down, the Doctor shrugged. "Sorry, never seen you. Will you go home now? My friend and I need to talk."

"Yeah, a bit." the Doctor added sarcastically,
Rose glared at him, taking any chance she had to do so. Did he not understand why she was so angry? He's got to be completely thick, she thought, hurt.
There had been few occasions in her life when Rose had thought she was special. She'd hated school, every minute of it, and it had shown in her grades...her teachers had given up on her. She just barely passed some of her subjects. They'd done nothing to quell her feelings of inadequacy and stupidity. Her boyfriend, Jimmy Stone, the love of her life, had told her that he loved her, had her move in with him, took her money, then had dumped her leaving her 800 pounds in debt. Though she never thought about it, subconsciously she knew that the biggest reason she was with Mickey was that he would never do that to her, and because that's what he gave her...that feeling of being special. While she knew she was loved by her mum and Mickey, it didn't help those insecurities much...
Point was, she'd let herself get comfortable with the Doctor, he *had* made her feel special...and then he had touched on all of those raw nerves when she hadn't been expecting it...and that made it all the worse. And he didn't understand that...
"I feel like we've met before...."
Looking him up and down, the Doctor shrugged. "Sorry, never seen you. Will you go home now? My friend and I need to talk."
"I'm sorry, this is really not a good time," Rose told the man tersely, trying to keep that anger in her chest from coming out at the wrong person. Rose glanced in the direction where she knew the TARDIS was parked.

David glanced from Rose to Nine and then shrugged. "I could have sworn....that I've dreamed about you...both of you.....I....I'm sorry.....sorry to interrupt. I only thought that if you needed help....I'll....I'll just be on my way then. I should go...I should really go."
David turned to go. He'd gotten himself into trouble before, interrupting people at the wrong time, bothering people, etc. __________ Tyler watched, not wanting to come any closer. The two that were fighting weren't physically hurting one another. Perhaps the couple hadn't even noticed him.

There's a point when a person breaks. You can only stand so much when you're weighed down by responsibilities. You have to get tough, do your best to hold your own, but when you get angry and there's no where to put it how can you cope? Can anyone really expect you not to have atleast one fit when you've got the death of one race on your hearts and the welfare of another on your shoulders. And Rose, his companion, his best friend, why couldn't she understand that? Why couldn't she have just let him alone! And when he apologized, the least she could have done was brush it off and get on with life. She was nineteen, her troubles were so small compared to his.
"I'm sorry, this is really not a good time,"
The Doctor could here the frustration in her tone, he'd caught her glares. He knew she was ready to burst, but so was he. Folding his arms over his chest, the Time Lord glowered like an angry child, his brooding eyes darting from Rose to the man still standing beside them.
"I could have sworn....that I've dreamed about you...both of you.....I....I'm sorry.....sorry to interrupt. I only thought that if you needed help....I'll....I'll just be on my way then. I should go...I should really go."
Dreamed about them, honestly? "What were we doing?" the Doctor asked tonelessly, directing his hard stare straight into the stranger's eyes.

David turned around when he heard the man ask him what they were doing in the dream. How could he tell the man that he had dreamed that HE was him? That he had looked like the man? Deciding that it was completely impractical to tell him that he had been him in the dream, his face turned slighty red.
"Well...um....traveling...really. Traveling across the universe in a blue box....and....and...well....hugging...and laughing...and saving planets and people and aliens. You were in love...."
Embarrassed by the science fiction nature of his dreams he spoke again. "Science fiction stuff...probably just been watching too much sci-fi....and I probably have seen both of you before. I...like to walk this way every morning. I'm sorry...I don't know why I dreamed about you."

"Well...um....traveling...really. Traveling across the universe in a blue box...."
Immediately, the stranger caught the Doctor's full attention. His crossed arms relaxed, his head picking up and his expression brightened with interest. He even leaned forward a little, as if it would help him to hear.
"and....and...well....hugging...and laughing...and saving planets and people and aliens."
"Saving planets and aliens?" the Doctor asked, doing his best to sound incredulous. He failed miserably, his tone pitching with excitement. This person had seen the TARDIS in his dream, knew that he and Rose travelled through space. "But the hugging and laughing bit is all wrong. We just fight, mostly." he joked, winking at Rose.
You were in love...."
At the last comment, the Doctor didn't falter, though inside he fought the torrent of emotion that siezed him. It was dangerous to use that word, to feel it. Who knew when he might be gone or worse - when she might be gone. If he dared to and then lost her, he'd break completely.
"We're not a couple." he said simply, smiling in a friendly way.
"Science fiction stuff...probably just been watching too much sci-fi....and I probably have seen both of you before. I...like to walk this way every morning. I'm sorry...I don't know why I dreamed about you."
"Don't be sorry!" the Doctor thrust out his hand. "I think its interesting. Nice to meet you, by the way. I'm the Doctor - just Doctor - and this is Rose. What's your name?"

Dreamed about them? Right... I wonder how long it would take for me just to go back to the TARDIS now. Rose thought, tapping one of her balled up fists against her leg.
"What were we doing?" the Doctor asked tonelessly.
Oh of course, he WOULD have to draw the conversation out. She glared at the Doctor again. Just let him leave, Doctor, Rose thought venomously, though she knew he couldn't hear her.
"Well...um....traveling...really. Traveling across the universe in a blue box...."
Rose's anger and tension melted away for the moment as intrigue overtook her. Her gaze came back to look at the man.
"and....and...well....hugging...and laughing...and saving planets and people and aliens."
Rose gave the slightest smile as her brow knit together slightly...Who was this man?
"Saving planets and aliens?" the Doctor asked, doing his best to sound incredulous. He failed miserably, his tone pitching with excitement. "But the hugging and laughing bit is all wrong. We just fight, mostly." he joked, winking at Rose.
Rose caught the wink, but just rolled her eyes without a smile, conflicted on how to act with him right now.
"You were in love...."
Rose was a bit taken aback, it barely showed, but he hadn't missed a beat. No...she was sure she had feelings for him...some sort of feelings...but he'd never go farther than barely flirting, she was sure. And why should he? Besides, she had Mickey...She smiled slightly to the other man, confirming that they weren't a couple.
"Science fiction stuff...probably just been watching too much sci-fi....and I probably have seen both of you before. I...like to walk this way every morning. I'm sorry...I don't know why I dreamed about you."
The Doctor answered before she could say anything. He did that often when he got excited...Rose put out her hand after his and listened for his name.

David, clearly not expecting that sort of reaction from his audience, frowned slightly, a strange expression crossing his face. This man -- this Doctor man -- was acting interested -- super interested in what he was saying. Although this man did his best to hide the excitement, David caught it. "Perhaps he he's just a science fiction fan, like me?...Maybe they both are"[/i} David thought to himself.
David replied to Nine, "Maybe....all right...so there was fighting in your dream...a little...but that isn't exactly what stood out....I......wait...did you say that your name was the Doctor? That...that is what you were called in the dream.....I mean...."
David nodded, "Oh...sorry....I just.....it was just a dream....nothing more...I didn't mean to imply that you were actually a couple." David's face turned redder as he thought back to those dreams and the feelings that he had deep down inside for this female -- feelings as if he were this Doctor person himself. He didn't want to say what else he'd dreamed about her -- that she'd been lost.
"Rose?" David asked, glancing in Rose's direction. That was her name from his dream as well.
He swallowed and then gave them both a smile, extending his own hand in return, and offering it to both of them. It was then that he realized that both were waiting for his name. "David...David Smith," he responded.
For some reason, his TARDIS had selected the name "David" instead of the typical "John," for the made up human story.

"Rose?" David asked, glancing in Rose's direction.
Rose nodded, trying to keep her bemused smile inside. The man seemed to not only be flummoxed, but befuddled and turning quite red.
"You say you walk by here everyday?" Rose still wanted to go inside and have it out with the Doctor...but her curiosity got the better of her. Someone dreamed the Doctor and her up...in the TARDIS...She had to put things aside for now..."Did you move in to one of the flats?" She had never seen him around before...though she'd been gone long enough for someone else to move in.
((OOC: not sure where to go from here))
