Hmm he said as if considering something very carefully, "Things are working out better than I was expecting you could add a new look at everything." Most of that was said as if he was talking to himself. He met Bryan's eye and asked, "Ever heard of Torchwood?"

She liked that he wasn't staring at her. She had dealt with that enough in her life even before she found out she was different.
"I can't hurt you."
She knew it was a lie, she had long since gotten over the fact that she was weak and an incredibly bad fighter so she knew he could hurt her but she hoped he wouldn't want to.
"I can tell you what you are, You're my friend."
Hearing the words leave her mouth she felt as though she would cry. Never in her entire life had someone accepted her as she really was, especially not after finding out she was different, not that he really knew what was different about her. She wasn't sure she was ready to confide in anyone about her 'gifts'.
"I can't promise you answers as to whom you are. But I can promise that if you stick with me, I'm not gonna let anyone hurt you without a hell of a fight."
Those words were even more shocking that anything else he had said. The fact that someone, anyone wanted to protect her or even to be nice to her was something entirely foreign. she gave him a hesitant smile and replied quietly, "you have no idea how much I would like that."

Bryan gulped. I'm in trouble now. But no use in denying it. He nodded, about ready to dive back into the water.

"Good Good." He replied to Bryan's positive response. "Well, I would like to offer you a job working for Torchwood. Are you interested?" He asked carefully observing Bryan's reactions.

Bryan blinked a bit. "A job? With Torchwood?" What sort of alternate reality did he just slip into?

He frowned slightly, "I just said that did I not. Yes, I would like to offer you a job at Torchwood."

Bryan ran that through quickly. Torchwood. This could be a trap. He could be hauled off to do whatever with as soon as he stepped foot in the door... But... If this was real, it could be a good way to keep out of trouble. And he could be hauled away if he refuses. Either way, he could in deep trouble... He really didn't like his job, and he wouldn't have to shove on those gloves every day.
"Alright," he nodded. "I'll take it."

"Good, Good! Let's go somewhere else to talk. Follow me." Jack said leading him away. He was walking in the direction of the Bay and the Hub. He looked behind him to ensure that Bryan was following.

Bryan wrapped the towel around his shoulders and followed Jack, trying to get the water out of his ears. That was really annoying. "So, where to, Boss?" He was going to have to get used to that.

He chuckled at Bryan's question and replied, "The Hub of course!" as if it was the most obvious thing in the world!
*Sorry I haven't posted in a while I have been writing for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and moving and I have mock exams next week so all of my time has been sucked up by other stuff! I'll be trying to post more, if I can!*

(Awesome. That's totally understandable XP Wish I had the patience to do NaNoWriMo)
"Al...right..." Bryan said. "Maybe you'll have to explain a few things to me. What's the Hub?" He looked around as he walked around in only his swim trunks. Still surprised that no one noticed him all these years.

Jack stepped onto the paving stone that was the official entrance to the Torchwood hub. Luckily when they had rebuilt it they were able to salvage a lot and he had managed to get a new perception filter lift put in. He stepped onto the slab and gestured for Bryan to join him. "The hub is the Torchwood base where you are about to enter." with that the slab began to descend and the first views of the hub came into view.

*Yeah they did. The exterior looks identical to how it did before, including the tourist shop.*

(awesome)
Bryan watched Jack carefully. "So, what? A door opens on the waterfall or something?" He stepped up on the pavement.
