(Thank you, couldn't remember)
"Well, it depends on the severity of the case. Some with asthma have to take daily medication, others just need to use and emergency inhaler," Clara said. She went over to her cabinets to look for medication, rifling through things. "I know I have an inhaler in here somewhere."
James then walked in, becoming rather put off by the silence in the console room. "What are you looking for, Clar?"
"Inhaler," Clara said.
James nodded and went over to a cabinet and carefully looked through the items inside, then took out the inhaler.

Tyler watched the two of them and then asked James, "What's going on in that weird room?" By that he meant the console room, but he didn't know what to call it.
Then he addressed Clara again, "Okay...so how do I know what the severity of mine is......? And how does that inhaler thing work?"
Relieved that it didn't seem like this alien was going to hurt him, he looked at the inhaler in James' had with suspicion. Maybe that thing would make him worse. He had no way of knowing.

James shrugged. "Not much. S'why I came in here."
Clara looked up at Tyler, then showed him how to use it. "Just squeeze and breathe," she said.

Tyler took the inhaler from Clara and did as she had told him. It took him a couple of attempts before he got it right. As the medicine made its way into his lungs, his breathing began to get better. He looked at Clara in surprise, as his human body had never gotten any medicine like this before. It enabled him to breathe freer than he could remember breathing in a long time.

"I didn't escape James, i'm not that smart, I was resurrected, by something, I don't know what exactly, but hey, here I am!" He said holding his arms out wide, he poked his head into the infirmary.
"Don't use too much of that," The General said to Tyler, "it gets addictive, I know, how is he doc?"
He felt a bit strange saying that to someone other than the Doctor, where was he anyway?

Tyler glanced at the General as he entered the room. A frown on his face at the General's words, he put the inhaler down and offered it back to Clara.
"Maybe...maybe he's right. How do I even know that that's meant for humans? Maybe it's some really addictive drug...it made me feel weird....like it was easier to breathe or something. I shouldn't have trusted you guys anyway."

Clara sighed and glared at the General. "Well, he was fine until you scared him off the inhaler. He has asthma." She looked to Tyler. "It's safe for humans, and it will be alright if you don't overuse it. It's actually human medicine, not Time Lord. A human doctor would prescribe the same."

Tyler looked back at Clara, "It's human medicine....how do I know if I'm overusing it...and how often should I take it?"
He looked between the General and Clara, trying to decide who was telling the truth. Was it safe for him to take?
Tyler then asked the General, "You said it was addictive, and that you should know....so....what is your experience with it..it sounds like you have personal experience."
He then turned to James, "And you...you said you were human, right? What do you think??"

"Just use it when you have a very hard time breathing. It's an emergency inhaler," Clara said, glancing to the General.
James shrugged. "This is after my time, I think. But I'd trust Clara with my life."

Tyler glanced at Clara again, a look of slight disappointment on his face. "Right....so....only when I have a very hard time breathing. I think I can get that...."
He stuffed the inhaler into his pocket. Then he asked Clara, "You said something depends on how severe it is...so...any way of finding that out."
To James he nodded, "All right.....I'll trust her then...but she better be right."

((I'm assuming when we meet Jack, it'll be before the Torchwood threads?))
"She's right, but just don't overuse it, no matter how much the urge comes on....." The General said, pausing for a minute, "Anyway! We have parents to find eh Tyler? James, Clara, you wanna come?"

Tyler again looked suspiciously at both Clara and the General. "How addictive is this thing?"
He nodded toward his pocket, where he had put the inhaler.
Tyler nodded, "Yeah....it would be good if we could find my parents....that's what I asked for earlier."

"It's prescription inhaler, so it shouldn't be as addictive as over-the-counter ones. Those ones usually have steroids to help the lungs. The one you have has bronchial dilators, which helps treat the cause and not the symptoms," Clara said, then looked to the General. "Yeah, we'll come."
"What?!" James asked her.
"We have to help him. And besides, we wanted a day away from the office. I wasn't going to just sit around, you know that," Clara responded.
James nodded.

(Scarlett -- could use you in the Doctor's parents thread)
Tyler frowned at Clara's response. "So it IS addictive then. I don't care if it isn't as addictive as something else....I just....would rather not use something that is addictive. I've gotten along fine without it.....so maybe I just will try to not use it at all."
Tyler smiled, though, at the thought that these people were going to help him find his family. "Good...thanks....."

(Which one?)
Clara sighed. "If your breathing gets worse because of lack of treatment, you'll have to use it regularly." She left it at that. All she could do is prescribe the medicine, it was up to him to take it.
"It's a pleasure to help you," she said.
