The guard left the room ad headed over to the room Donna was in. He had heard about her little stunt as soon as he came out.
*** On the planet in the Aresian system...
Branstone stared at Kradston as a couple guards held him by his shoulders. "Please, don't," the Lieutenant pleaded, struggling against the hold.
Kradston had a hard look to him. "I will not accept dissension in the ranks."

The Doctor, glad that the guard had left him alone, began to search the room for the camera or viewing equipment. He tried to make it look as though he were bored. Finally, his eyes took in the sight of the camera. So as not to look suspicious, he continued to look around the room, looking bored. Finally, he moved back over to his chair. Taking out the Harry Potter book, he began to read once more. He would only do this for about ten minutes, and then he planned to use the sonic.

"Two kids were fooling around where they weren't supposed to and the Aresians were too proud to reach an agreement."
"Fooling around? That's what started this all? How does that start a war?"

After the five minutes were up, he reached into his pocket and felt the sonic screwdriver, the other hand still holding the book. He was, in fact, still reading. He quickly pulled out the screwdriver and adjusted the setting, and aimed it at the camera. Knowing that guards would be coming soon, he ran over to the door and used the screwdriver on the door, seeing if ti would work. He didn't know for sure whether it would.

There was a click in the door as it unlocked.
Guards rushed toward the Doctor's door, but it would still take them a while to get there.
*** "They died in a secret facility, causing expensive damage in the process. The Aresians demanded more than we could provide and would not help to pay for the damage," the guard said before he was alerted to the situation with the Doctor's room and headed out, locking the door behind him. They didn't use 'the Doctor' when they talked about him, just that a prisoner had escaped.

Donna had no time to reply before the guard's radio beeped into life and called him out of the room. A prisoner had escaped. Donna couldn't help but grin, though she hid it quickly in case someone watching thought she knew more about the escape than she should. That prisoner, she was sure, was the Doctor.
She heard the door's mechanisms lock. Oh well, she thought. No chance getting out that way.
She was sure the Doctor would come get her out if he could, so she focused more on the restraints. She pulled at the cuffs, but they did not give. Looking up at the camera quickly, she hoped everyone was too busy looking for the Doctor to watch her cell.
She grasped the arms of the chair and tried lifting it slightly. It was way to heavy to do anything but scootch it little by little across the floor. But that was better than doing nothing. She aimed for where she had been standing beneath the camera; if she could sit there, it would be easier to try to get out of the restraints with no one watching and maybe if they thought she had already escaped they'd go off looking for her too, leaving an opening for the Doctor.
She had gone about a foot when she stopped to rest for a second.

The Doctor took that opportunity to push the door open the moment he heard the lock unclick, his sonic screwdriver in his hand. There was only one thought on his mind, "I have to find Donna," he thought to himself.
He knew that she was in the cell next to his, so that would be a problem. As soon as he got out of his cell, he pressed the button on the sonic screwdriver once more, unlocking Donna's door. He pushed it open and yelled at her, "Donna!"
He saw that she was in handcuffs. Quickly aiming is screwdriver at them, he pressed the button. He only hoped that the screwdriver would work on the handcuffs as well as it had on the door.

Donna was about to start scooting again when the Doctor burst through her door and yelled her name.
"About bloody time!" she wasn't angry so much as stressed.
He aimed his sonic screwdriver, and each pair of cuffs opened. Jumping up from her seat, she ran for the door. Looking out into the hall she asked "Which way?"

Once Donna had reached where he was, the Doctor looked around quickly. He listened for footprints. "To the right!" he yelled. He took off in towards the right, the cement his feet pounding the cement as he ran.
He told Donna, "Oh, and if we get caught, they are going to try us for espionage, just so you know. I'd imagine that escaping wouldn't help our cause." He continued to run, hoping that Donna could keep up with him.

Donna followed after the Doctor, running as fast as she could to keep up with his long legs.
He told Donna, "Oh, and if we get caught, they are going to try us for espionage, just so you know. I'd imagine that escaping wouldn't help our cause." He continued to run, hoping that Donna could keep up with him.
"Oh," Donna breathed, still running. "Well, that's lovely."
The elevators were just ahead. The Doctor was still going full tilt, so Donna grabbed his jacket to try to slow him down.

The Doctor felt the pull on his jacket. He only slowed down slightly, well aware that they would send guards to look for them. "The elevator would be too obvious," he said to Donna. "Well, unless they think that it would be too obvious...." He looked around, seeing the door to the stairs not far from the elevator. He looked to Donna when he finally came to a stop.
"Stairs or elevator?" he asked her, allowing her to make the decision.

"There are going to be people looking for us in either, but we have more of an escape plan with the stairs, so let's take them." she made the decision, nodding the stairs straight ahead. "We need to be careful going across the hall here though." she said, peering ever so slightly around the corner. "If we had just bolted past, guards would have been all over us."
There were two guards in front of the elevator that she could see, none in front of the stairs for some reason, but she wasn't going to question that.

The Doctor nodded at Donna, "Right....the stairs," he ran for the door to the stairs, opening it as fast as he could. As he opened it, he saw that this flight of stairs didn't go to the upper floors, it only went down. "This must be the flight of stairs that no one uses much....a secondary.....which means, it might not be watched." He grinned.
The stairs leading down were steep, but they looked like they were in decent condition, being made of cement. There was a wooden handrail at the side. After carefully inspecting it, the Doctor was satisfied that it was in good enough condition to be trusted to support their weight, should they need to grab it.

"Doctor, no one's watching this because it goes down...Why are we going deeper into the building when we need to get OUT?" she asked, not able to fathom the Doctor's motives.

Suddenly a man ran right into them. He didn't look like a guard, and he recognized that they didn't look like guards either. "What are you doing here? This place is totally off-limits," the man whispered quickly. He looked human, or at least, more human than whatever the guards' species was. He also looked very on-edge.
