The Doctor nodded, "Right....it's been a while since I was involved in a war -- and then it wasn't really me....well, it was, but it wasn't. It was a different regeneration -- hard to explain."
He certainly didn't want them to risk their security just to communicate with them, yet he didn't really like to wait. He preferred action -- that and the fact that he had a time machine that made it so that he really didn't have to wait around much. It wasn't that he never waited. Everyone has to from time to time, even Gallifreyans. He just didn't like it.
Deciding to go over to Donna, he walked over to her and let out a small sigh. "Can't even work on my TARDIS right now."

(Okay, enough waiting)
A few moments later, a few soldiers arrived at the camp in similar uniform to the people here. They marched right into Jamison's tent. "There were two that were to be escorted to Col. Kradston?"
Jamison stood straight up and saluted them with a closed fist to his chest. "Yes, Sir. The two over here. The Doctor and Donna Noble."

The Doctor glanced at the men upon their entrance, standing up straighter. Once he was sure that these were the men that Kradston had sent to go get him, he walked over to Jamison.
"Hello, I'm the Doctor," he said to them.

One of the men looked at the Doctor. "Greetings," he said, looking him over. "Let's move, we don't have much time." He looked at his partner and nodded.
The second man gave a letter to Jamison. "A message from Kradston to read in private."

The Doctor nodded at the man who had suggested that they get a move on things. He did notice that one of the men had handed Jamison a letter. Curious as he was, he wanted to know what it had to say. However, he thought that if he had asked, it would look suspicious. These people were just beginning to trust them, or so he hoped.
He glanced at Donna, trying to give her an encouraging smile.
The Doctor had no idea how they might travel -- by foot or by a vehicle -- it didn't really matter. However, it would give him some more indication of the status of this side of the war.

(was going to try to wait for Donna, but...)
The two men then headed out of the tent, guiding them out of the camp. The first man looked behind. "Keep up, we don't have much time. If we don't get the MET." The second man stayed back to make sure they were following and to protect their flank.

(thank you for trying to wait for me. If you'll just wait one more day, I'll be able to start posting again!)

(sorry for the more than one day wait! As soon as I got home, I was roped into cooking, shopping, and erranding for Thanksgiving! I needed today to recover lol)
Deciding to go over to Donna, he walked over to her and let out a small sigh. "Can't even work on my TARDIS right now."
She gave him a comforting smile. "And what would you do if you could?" she asked gently, sitting up straight. "You've been fiddling around for ages, and still nothing. Besides..." she lowered her voice. "It wouldn't be good if a time machine got caught in a war, yeah?"
Before the Doctor could respond, Donna heard marching and new people. Turning around and standing, she saw soldiers dressed much the same as everyone else in the camp.
Hearing that the men were looking for them, Donna followed the Doctor to go and meet them.
"Hello, I'm the Doctor," he said to them.
"Hi. Donna," his companion said, giving a smile that was not returned.
One of the men looked at the Doctor. "Greetings," he said, looking him over.
"Hello," the other man replied to Donna, his eyes glancing at her clothes.
The first man spoke again:"Let's move, we don't have much time." He looked at his partner and nodded.
The second man gave a letter to Jamison. "A message from Kradston to read in private."
Curious as Donna was about the letter, she followed the Doctor's lead and did not ask about it.
Donna returned the Doctor's smile, albeit with a smaller one, unsure if the men before her would appreciate any more smiling...they sure hadn't the first time around.
The two men then headed out of the tent, guiding them out of the camp. The first man looked behind. "Keep up, we don't have much time. If we don't get the MET." The second man stayed back to make sure they were following and to protect their flank.
Donna hesitated, but decided to ask anyways. "MET?"

The first looked back at Donna. "You really are Alien, aren't you?" He said, continuing into a thick patch of forest. "Keep close."
The second was silent as he kept a careful eye on their surroundings.

Donna pursed her lips. He hadn't really given her an answer. She looked the Doctor questioningly; maybe he could answer it.

(So, if you want Ten to know, it's short for Military Emergency Transport)

Ten followed the men, glancing at Donna. In an attempt to answer her question, he replied, "Well, the funny thing is that militaries across the universe have different names and initials for different things. Sometimes they have similar words. It seems that they are talking about a transport of some sort....let me see.....that would be the "T..."
"Military Emergency Transport," he finally said in response, after scratching his head. "Yes! That's it!!" The Doctor grinned at Donna.
"And we should be seeing it soon....hmm....wonder what sort of transport it will be --" he continued following, pleased with himself for having figured it out.

Donna laughed silently and shook her head ever so slightly as the Doctor got the answer and grinned excitedly. She had to admit yet again...he was good.
"Of course. Military Emergency Transport."
