"You'll see in a moment. We can't risk landing too close to the camp, it would compromise their security," the second said.
The first looked back at them. "Quite right. We've got a trek ahead of us."
(Ten, need you in Torchwood)

"Of course," Donna assured them. "We can't jeopardize anyone finding the camp."
Boy, was Donna glad she had worn flats...

Ten nodded, "Right."
As he followed along, memories of the Time War came flooding back into his memory. Daleks -- that's all he could think about -- that and the destruction that he had seen. Houses burning, fellow Time Lords dying, screams, screeches of 'extermination' echoing in the night air.
Ten closed his eyes for a second, trying to blink back the tears that threatened to break loose.
He said quietly, "I know war....I've been through several."
Glancing away, he looked for any faint outline of their transport.

Donna noticed the Doctor's energy changing as he walked with the group and glanced over. By the look on his face, she guessed he was thinking about the Time War. When he closed his eyes longer than was necessary to blink, she knew she was right. She placed a hand on his shoulder as they walked. It was a bit awkward while walking to keep it there so she rubbed his shoulder in solidarity and let her hand drop back to her side.

"Perhaps that is why Kradston wants to speak with you," the first said as they came to a small clearing. There stood what looked like a small hovercraft. Maybe it was small than that. Maybe something more of a puddle jumper.

The Doctor felt Donna's hand on his shoulder, realizing that this was a human gesture of comfort. He nodded at her, hoping that she would understand that he was thanking her. Finally, saying it out loud, he said, "Thank you."
He nodded at the man escorting them. "Perhaps, though I doubt that we will be fighting Daleks -- unless of course they somehow survived yet again. They always seem to survive."
Frowning, he studied the transport vehicle silently. "Right...so we just get inside, then?"

Donna gave him a sympathetic smile, before walking on.
As they approached the transport, Donna was surprised how small it seemed to be.

The Doctor, not having received a response from the men escorting them, reached for the door to the transport. Finding it locked, he let out a sigh.
He satisfied himself by inspecting the vehicle from the outside. It was certainly different than any he had ever seen before -- nothing like that which was used in the Time War. All wars reminded him of the Time War. However, the less a particular war seemed to have in common with his Time War, the easier he found it to function -- to push the memories of the Time War to the back of his head.

"Oi!" Donna said to the men who had led them here after a few seconds of no one talking. "Didn't you want to be discreet and not draw attention to ourselves?...Well, isn't standing here in plain sight next to a ship sort of...not that?"

"We're not in plain sight," the first said simply as he went to unlock the door.
"What he means is this. There is a cloaking field around the ship at a 3-meter radius. It's set to only be detected by those surrounded by the identification field emitted by these," the second said, pulling up his sleeve to reveal a simple-looking bracelet with, what looked like identifying number stamped into the face. "They used to be used to identify bodies in the battle field, but now they serve a less morbid purpose as well."

"Oh," Donna looked around seeing if she could see it, almost a cloaking field to have a sparkly exterior like in the movies.

Ten grinned. 'Brilliant."
He climbed inside the transport, expecting the two others to follow him in. He sat in the back, in what was obviously a passenger seat.
"Is there a sort of cloaking device on this transport so that your enemies wouldn't be able to detect this vehicle?"

"Exactly," the first soldier said. He got in and climbed into the cockpit.
The second waited for Donna to board. "In theory, it evades signal-based sensors by bending all signals around it. It's a development of Kradston."

Donna climbed in next to the Doctor.
"Impressive."

The Doctor grinned, "I can't wait to meet your Kradston. The man sounds rather brilliant....."
He waited for the man to start up the vehicle.
"Well, it certainly sounds like you've thought of everything....at least in regard to disguising your position. Is the other side as careful?"
