"I'm afraid I haven't heard of Skaro," Kradston said. He took the device over to the map, looking at where that troop was located and calculating the possibilities. Finally, he nodded. "Alright. I'll send some people to pick you up so that we may discuss this further."

The Doctor responded, "Okay, thank you. Is there anything that you will need from us? And do you have an idea of when these soldiers will get here?"
He glanced at Donna, attempting to give her an encouraging look so that she would know that the general had accepted their help. All would be all right...well, at least the Time Lord hoped so.

"We will discuss this when you arrive. Estimated time of arrival is about 15 to 30 minutes," Kradston said. He looked over at the map. "I will assemble a list of helpful requirements that may need assistance to acquire. Until I see you in person, I must leave you to attend the front."

The Doctor turned to Donna and Jamison. "Well, some officers will be coming....so......guess all we can do is wait right now."
"How often are your camps attacked?" he asked Jamison. "And how do they normally attack....or do they change?" He was trying to get an understanding for the way their enemy thought and conducted themselves, militarily, at least.

Jamison nodded. "I am not sure about the other camps, but we haven't been attacked yet. From what I've heard, though, we're lucky. All the camps that are attacked, from what I heard in training, that there is never anything left." Jamison looked toward the door as one of his officers came in.

The Doctor frowned at what Jamison had said. "How are you defending it? What plans do you have if/when it is attacked?"
He asked these things in a somewhat raised tone as he continued to wait for the troops to come and pick him up so that he could meet Kradson. He glanced at Donna, "Oh...and she's coming with me."
He never liked seeing his companions be left on their own, especially when it was in the middle of a war zone. Besides, he didn't think that Donna would mind coming with him -- she didn't seem to like to be left out of the action, which he well understood. Of course, though, he was only evaluating this based on past experiences.

"We have plans on defending ourselves, but we are not allowed to know where the other camps are unless we are ordered to rendezvous with them for a big mission. Each of our camp holds a company or so, a troop. If we were to be attacked and/or captured, we won't be able to give up any information on the other camps, no matter what means they use to gain the information," Jamison said as he went to speak with the officer. "Excuse me." He and the officer spoke quietly, then he nodded and patted the man on the shoulder and let him leave. "Sorry about that, it's a busy day every day here. I always have several men out on missions, mostly espionage for us. I wonder what other camps are doing. I doubt that Kradston letting any man go to waste."

Donna's worry lines brightened a bit when the Doctor updated them on the situation.
He glanced at Donna, "Oh...and she's coming with me."
Donna nodded forcefully, as it should have been a given.

"How long has Kradston been coordinating everything as general?" Donna butted in. "I take it he knows what he's doing?"

Jamison looked at her. "He's not the General. He's the strategist. He's the one who writes the orders, the General only carries them out now..." He looked out of the tent at his men. "I hope he knows what he's doing... he's the only hope we've got. It was a slaughter before he came into the game. We have at least a chance with him at the helm."

As the Doctor continued to wait for Kradston's men to arrive, he glanced at Jamison, "And just who is the main general?"
He glanced appreciatively at his companion, glad for her quick thinking. Donna was usually creative with the way that she tended to receive information, and she had absolutely no romantic interest in him, which had made traveling with her far less complicated than it had been with some of his past companions.

Donna sincerely hoped so too...

"General Braydon Keyar," Jamison answered. It was a safe enough answer, everyone on both sides knew that. "He's one of our finest, but..." He shook his head. "To be completely honest with you, he isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the drawer."

(Scarlet Hey...did you want to play Kari's parents in the parent thread and in the other Ten thread? Oracle's been temp playing them....but thought I would offer them to you, as they are sort of your characters ) The Doctor sighed, wondering why they would have decided to make someone a main general who was not really all that sharp. Not wanting to offend, he said nothing about it. Instead, he said to Jamison, "I see.....so do you have communication with the men who are supposed to meet us? It seems that they're taking an awfully long time....of course they don't have a TARDIS...but....still...."

(Well, if she's doing alright with them, then I don't see why you need me.)
"It will take time for them to get here. Communications with them long-distance is too much of a risk. Even communicating with Kradston so directly is a risk. we don't want information to be intercepted," Jamison said. "They shouldn't be too long though. Might as well get as comfortable as you can."

Donna looked at the Doctor. Shrugging and taking the man at his word, she looked around the area for a suitable seat. Finding a not-as-dirty-as-the-rest crate, she dusted it off a bit, then sat. Leaning her elbows on her knees, she looked up at the men.
