Clara looked from the girl, to Agent J, to Agent K, to Agent... "young person". It really was frustrating to not remember something just on the tip of her tongue.
She stuck out her tongue and moved it to the left to that she could see the tip of it... nope not there, but it was worth a try.

Confused, Melissa moved over to where the woman in jeans was sitting.
"Sorry," she explained, "I am just a little confused.....were you addressing me or......" (she pointed to Clara) "her?"
She then continued.
"If it was me....then all right....what questions do you have for me?"

Oh, were you addressing her? I just assumed," Clara said. She looked to... Agent S! That's right!... Oh... well...
She looked over to the girl. "Hi, I'm Clara," she said extending her hand to the girl, grinning a bit.

Melissa looked to Clara and whispered, "I'm not sure that they were addressing me. If he's with the FBI, though....I certainly don't want to ignore him. My name's Melissa, by the way."
She took Clara's hand and shook it.
Melissa thought that Clara's hand felt a little....odd.....as if it were a little cooler than it should be.
She shrugged. Perhaps Clara had bad circulation in her hands.

"Don't worry about it too much, Melissa, happens all the time," Clara said, taking her hand back. She looked back to Agent S and grinned.

Melissa whispered again, "I guess we can talk while they decide what to ask to who....I still don't know who they wanted to ask the questions to."
"It almost looks like you're used to this sort of thing.......FBI agents asking questions to people?"

"Oh, just my job," Clara said as she took out her slightly psychic paper. "Clara Day, Private I." She flashed it to Melissa then promptly put it in her back pocket.

Melissa looked at Clara strangely. "That thing is blank?? I don't get it. I think you pulled out the wrong badge."
(psychic paper doesn't work on Melissa)

Clara was a bit surprised that it didn't work... it always worked on humans... Hmmm... Oh, well...
"Oh, sorry, wrong little black thing," she said, reaching into her other back pocket. This time it was a genuine Private Investigator badge... or at least it looked it. "There you go. Clara Day, Private Investigator." She showed it to Melissa a bit longer this time.
Now why did it not work on her? She doesn't seem like the type of genius that could see through it... She made a mental reminder to scan her later, when all this was over.

Melissa looked at the badge and back at Clara. She smiled.
"There you go. Why do you carry around a blank piece of paper in a leather badge case when you can get it confused with your real badge? Anyway, I bet you get a lot of interesting stuff with your job."
It was then that Melissa realized that she had left her bookbag where she had been sitting before. She glanced over at it, but decided that it was okay....the most valuable thing she had in there was her computer.

"Notepad... though, I really don't know why I carry it, it's all up here anyway," Clara lied brilliantly, tapping her temple to accent one of her points. "Meh, not too much. Mostly suspicious spouses and lost wallets."

Melissa raised her eyebrows.
"This woman is definitely smart."
"I see," she stated out loud. "Well, so you're on a case now?"
(what kind of accent does she have? It almost seems like most of the people from Gallifrey have an English like accent. Melissa doesn't because she's human...but Clara might)

"Yeah," Clara said, going with whatever Melissa assumed about her. "It's nice, I guess. Shops... chips, that's fries here... crisps, that's chips here... Not entirely sure how they got confused like that, but..."
Really, Clara had only been in Cardiff to refuel her TARDIS, but than was actually in Wales, not England.
