The nurse nodded.
Dahlia came into the room, Kyra still clinging to her skirt, but a bit calmer now.

The doctor did his work, setting the bones and putting ice on the swelling as his nurse made up the plaster for the casts the boy would need.

(But Tylerhathan was already in the room, talking with the nurse.)
Dahlia looked to Tylerhathan and the nurse. "I need help making her feel better about the situation. She's very scared."
Kyra was renewed with tears as she remembered her last friend that had an accident.

Kyra looked at Tylerhathan, tears still streaming. "He's my friend now... why is it that my friends always get hurt?"

Tylerhathan looked at Kyra and said. "Because when you're friends with people for a long time, there is more of a chance that they will get hurt...what happened anyway...when he got hurt?"

He looked at the nurses and doctors to see what they were doing with Tyler.

The doctor was in the locked infirmary, putting on the casts now.

Kyra looked at Tylerhathan and said, "I was talking to Tyler when this grown-up came and grabbed his arm. He twisted it, saying something about not doing something right. When it broke, he threw him down the stairs. I went to get this nice lady and an old man to help."
She was trying not to cry when she told what happened. "And my other friend... We were playing... and he decided to walk over the old bridge over the creek... it broke..." She started to cry then. "The doctors said he was going to be okay... but he didn't come back..."

Tylerhathan nodded. "I'm sorry about your friend...I've lost people too...like my wife. Your friend...he didn't regenerate?"
Tyler started to wake up.

Kyra shook her head as her sobs renewed.

The Physician smiled at Tyler as he started to wake up. "It's alright. We've got you almost all fixed up. Just lay still for a moment more."

Tylerhathan pulled Kyra into a hug. "My wife...she didn't regenerate either...she couldn't....."
He knew he couldn't tell Kyra that his wife had been a human and not a Time Lord.

Kyra cried into his shoulder. She didn't want anything to happen to Tyler. After that, she never trusted doctors.
The second nurse walked into the room that the others were in. "Sir, we're almost finished with the casts. It seems he will be making a full recovery within a few weeks."
Dahlia thanked the nurses.
The Physician walked in with a smile on his face. "All finished up, you can go see him now."

Tylerhathan released Kyra at the news.
"Thank you," he replied.
Tylerhathan walked into the room that Tyler was in.
Tyler looked up.
(How many casts does he have -- one on his right leg, one one his arm -- what did they do about the back and ribs?)
