but he wouldn't go back and explain or apologize? we know kradston wouln't accept it, wouldn't respond favourably at all, but the doctor wouldn't and even if he did know, i think he would still go back and try to help after the fact?

yeah...and by the time he got back, Kradston was seriously injured and teh battle was over....Kradston's people had lost. The Doctor did try to explain, but Kradston wouldn't listen.
