Tyler stared at his brother. So the Doctor's forgetting hadn't been because the Doctor had simply forgotten him, but due to an injury to his brain. Suddenly, Tyler felt guilty for being so mad at his brother for forgetting him. It hadn't been his fault.
Tyler said nothing to the Doctor. Instead, he went up to him and tried to embrace him. __________ At this time, Ten wasn't paying attention to anything else except for getting out of the house safely. If the Torchwood Agents saw him.....
He continued to slowly move in the direction of one of the exit doors.

Her blood swam with apprehension as the ballroom paused for a moment as a stout figure clothed in a black, velvet smooth gown entered. A tuft of white veil rested on her graying head above her softly wrinkled features. Her eyes wandered over her guests with the faintest veil of suspicion cast over her gaze, a wariness gleaned from previous attempts on her life. The Queen had many enemies, and Issildia supposed that some of them might be in this very room. The huntress expected no less from the monarch as her guard of four red coated men moved with little resistance into the ballroom. The dancers parting away as Queen Victoria made her entrance. Several more similarly uniformed men also flowed into the chamber after the Queen taking up a perimeter about the room, their hands dancing about their sword hilts and over their single shot pistols to take up their posts whilst her majesty was in attendance.
The golden room with its lovely painted ceiling and glittering chandelier swam into more brilliance it seemed as a modest patter of applause rippled through those assembled at the Queen's entrance. Her Majesty Victoria seemed to expect this treatment before she waved off the dancers with a wearying smile and a curt nod, the festivities resuming immediately at her signal. Several clusters of noble women and men detached from the main throng of dancers to crowd in about the Queen, assaulting her with their idle chatter as Victoria herself continued to cast a sharp gaze about the room.
Issildia's eyes flickered about the vista of silks and luminescent gems, up towards the open second floor where she had paid her visit that overlooked the glowing ballroom. Above there was also now another new set of guards upon the Queen's entrance, these men and a single woman garbed in black waistcoats with silver washed swords at their belts. They were quite different from the guardsmen on the ground floor and Issildia supposed darkly that they were true Torchwood agents, not silly initiates with dreams of grandeur.
Her lips tightened into a taught line as she began to move smoothly towards the tangle of Doctors, her path shooting for the Tenth Incarnation. Already the red coated guards had ringed the main entrance which the Doctor now seemed to be moving towards. Her dress shifted uneasily about her as the huntress began to come to the assumption that her exit would not be near as simple as her entrance.
Her pace quickened yet the woman strained not to move like a novice and call attention to herself as she pulled her faintly blood tainted collar up to hide the scratches she had endured during her most recent scuffle.
It was time to employ yet another fabricated story as Issildia cast aside the guise of Lady Alice Trevena. She would need something that was far closer to her own self with merely a few tweaks in her story. Still that was something to be dealt with later, for now was not a time for questions or senseless conversation as the woman sighted two dark haired guards with close cropped locks whispering to each other and nodding in the Doctor's direction.
Mere steps separated her from the target as Issildia carelessly allowed her cerulean gaze to settle on the Eighth briefly amid his conversation with the others. Their meeting had been brief, and perhaps folly now that a great deal depended on him staying out of her way.
The last few gliding steps to the Tenth Incarnation ended with Issildia snapping her hand to his wrist in a subtle yet startling quick motion. She was acting far boldly than she had previously intended, but little else matter now save for getting him out of this place. She leaned in just enough to lower her voice to a low near whisper.
"It seems you are in a lion's den...Doctor." she uttered with no cloak over her words to hide the urgency in them. Her eyes sharp as a hawks' as they traced the movement of the surrounding perimeter of guards as they moved about, passing a message on back towards the Queen.
Before doubt or suspicion could register with him she continued her face set into a chill frown.
"You do not know my name, nor why I know yours" She whispered urgently.
"But in this moment...right now...I need you to trust me"

(Awww, it's a Kodak moment! ) Eight didn't hesitate when he saw his brother coming up for an embrace, he held out his own arms. Wrapping them around Tyler tightly he felt tears once more come to his eyes. He also felt something heal inside, as if a missing piece had once more fallen into place. What others had he forgotten since that confusing time? Ah well, they didn't matter as much as his own twin brother. No wonder he had felt lost over the years, looking around as if expecting someone to show up who refused to do so without knowing who that someone was. The missing half had been found. "Tyler," he said thickly, not trusting himself to say anything further. "Tyler."

Susan bit her tongue to stop from replying that she couldn't stay here alone. She hadn't time-travelled -- or been under a disguise -- in many years, and now he was just going to drop her off? And he was going to leave? Well, it wasn't like it was anything new for her grandfather. He had dropped her off and left her alone before. She had done perfectly fine without him.
She watched the Doctor leave and turned her eyes towards the man in the brightly colored coat. Why was her grandfather so cautious about this man? He was a bumbling fool in a technicolor dreamcoat.
The man smiled charmingly and stepped closer to her. "You're not human," he whispered, just loud enough for her to hear.
Susan tilted her head in confusion at his words. The man seemed annoyingly clueless, but his eyes were calculatingly cold - a trait that she had either never noticed before or one that hadn't been present. "What else would I be, sir? A dog?" she replied with a false smile. "Woof."
The man shrugged at her comment and nodded his head towards Ten. "Seems your friend is in a bit of a predicament. I wonder whom he's hiding from..?"
"Nobody," Susan replied quickly.
Six grinned at her, the cold look disappearing from his eyes. "That certainly dissuades my fear!" he chirped brightly, glancing as people flooded around the queen. The man he had been talking to seemed to have only become agitatingly nervous when the queen had shown up.
He looked from the man to his brother. He was currently exchanging a... hug with someone else. "Well, if you don't mind, I'm going to see what my brother has gotten into," he walked towards his brother and 'Gertrude'.

Tyler spoke to Eight in the midst of the hug. "Just don't forget about me again...if you can....try to find the version of me that is alive in your time period.....if I'm still alive...."
He realized then that the room had gotten even quieter. Judging from the expression on others in the room, he guessed that the Queen had arrived. Not wanting to make a scene, he gently released Eight.
________ Ten glanced at the woman who had spoken to him earlier. Hadn't he seen her with Eight earlier? Having a distrust of anyone who declared to know him that he hadn't met yet, he frowned at her.
"You're right...I don't know you." He glanced at Susan and Six. But he nodded at her. Torchwood guards had likely seen him -- at least there were a few pointing at him. Not really liking the idea of a stranger with him, but knowing that he also had no other choice, he whispered to her again, "Now what do you want?"
He sent a message to Susan, "You can either come with me or stay with him.....I've got to go...the Queen knows I"m here...or will know I'm here soon."

Susan frowned in his direction, and glanced around at the guards. It was already going to be suspicious enough for her grandfather to leave with the woman holding on to him, but for three people to hurry their way out of the party would attract even more suspicion. You need to leave.
She smiled at him and lowered her head, glancing after the man in the technicolor dreamcoat. A thousand questions were still whirling in her mind, but she decided that she shouldn't pester him at this moment. She would just ignore her pessimistic thoughts about not meeting the Doctor again. Nope, she was just going to follow the man in the coat around like a stray dog. Woof.
"I'm Jane! Jane Doe," she said, scurrying after Jeremiah McInolds.
Six glanced behind him. "And I'm John Smith, hm?"
Susan lifted her eyebrows. John Smith was the name her grandfather was using. It was also a fairly common name -- well, she had never met anyone actually named John Smith; the name was so common that it seemed to be obsolete. She remained silent and pushed back the thought.
The Doctor patted his brother on the shoulder and grinned at him and Eight. "Hello. Who are you?" he asked cheerfully, the concept of the room getting quieter not really bothering him too much.
The girl keeps following me around. he sent to his brother, glancing in the direction of 'Jane Doe'.

Ten sent to Susan, "All right...just...no matter what you find out about him....don't tell him who I am.....I don't want him to know...oh, and did I mention it earlier, he travels in time? I'm planning on going to New York city in 2010...you can meet me there, if you want."
Ten had made the decision to go to New York hastily, saying the first time and location that came to his mind.
__________________ Tyler looked up with surprise as he heard Six's voice.
Tyler sent to Eight, "I'll let you tell him, if you want...it's up to you....I'll just...play along with whatever you come up with."
He then sent back to Six, "Oh.....that girl that was with the guy were were talking to...he left in a hurry...where did he go...and why is his friend following you?"

Issildia's frown deepened at his words, her vice grip releasing his wrist as her eyes moved over the surrounding crowd, spying the black clad figures above, moving out of sight. The Torchwood initiates garbed in red now showed little inclination of spotting the Doctor save for a pair of the men moving to block the main exit from the ballroom. The woman's muscles tensed as adrenaline raced through her blood, the time was now or never.
Her voice was low and urgent as she spoke, her eyes continuing to track the moving Torchwood figures as they assumed their new positions. The trap was closing shut on them.
Training kicked in as Issildia presumed the black waist coated elite of Torchwood to be beginning to block off the entrances to the upper floors, after all it was what she herself would have done in their place. Still, Issildia had one idea to pursue in an attempt at escape.
Stepping back her gaze followed the line of servers carrying trays of sherry, wine and sweet pastries from a far less ornate side hall where the smells of cooking originated from. The huntress could only hope that this manor's kitchens were caught up on the more recent of advances if her plan was to work.
Issildia snapped back to the Time Lord her eyes sharp and surprisingly sincere yet while still tracing any movement from Torchwood whilist flickering her blue gaze to his own.
"My name is Issildia Nevar, Doctor." She uttered coolly with the slightest hint of a frost edged smile tugging at her lips.
"And if I were you, I would stay close" Again her gaze fled back to the Torchwood agents as suddenly two detached from the guard surrounding the Queen, their red coats gleaming amid the golden light. They moved silently through the moving swath of dancers towards the Doctor.
"We have a great deal of running to do..."
With that Issildia turned her back to him, clearing indicating for him to follow and as set off at a swift walk, nearly breaking into a run as the guards also quickened their pace, yet not so much that they would bring notice from the surrounding nobles. There was almost no chance that this would end cleanly or kindly for anyone.

"Forget you again? Impossible!" After they separated he quickly drew out his handkerchief again. A passing woman gave him a curious glance so he responded with a smile and a small jerk of his head to Tyler. "Family reunion." She gave an understanding smile back and moved on. "I'll find out, believe me, if I have to go back through a supernova I will find out!"
When the Sixth version came walking up it threw Eight completely off. At Tyler's mental message that he would go along with whatever story he chose Eight just couldn't come up with one! He was still trying to recover from the shock of finding his brother and now he had to contend with one of his former selves into the bargain. He wasn't sure revealing the truth would be such a good idea as he had vague memories of other such occurences not quite turning out pleasurably. Most of the time had been spent in bickering and critizising, did he really want to deal with stuff like that at the moment? He decided the answer was 'no'. But he couldn't use the name 'John Smith' again, could he? Did theSixth ever use it? Was he using it again? It might be safer to come up with something else.
It would be best if he didn't know .he sent to Tyler. I've met myself in other times and things got a little tense! Perhaps you and I are long lost friends, college buddies? I shall be...... Quickly he ran Earth names through his head. I shall be....Paul. Paul Scmied! he had settled on the German version of 'Smith'!

Feeling that he had no other choice, Ten set off after Issildia, hot on her heals. He said nothing to her, not wanting to draw even more attention to himself.
It was then that he noticed some of the agents were blocking doors. He was trapped. His only hope was that Issildia knew where she was going. Evidently, he would meet her in his future or something to that effect. He would have to trust her, and she was trying to help him...he knew that much.
____________ Tyler heard his brother's words and nodded.
He sent back to Eight, "Well, if you say that we are college buddies, then that would give away the fact that you are Gallifreyan....as your Sixth self knows who I am and where I come from. So...and you're going to have to be an alien....as he knows that I haven't talked to humans before...not until now....so you would either be Gallifreyan or an alien I met on another planet while doing my job...."
As Tyler looked around, he became aware that the Queen's guards seemed to be after someone. There were guards posted at the front entrance and all of them seemed to be on alert, as if trying to catch someone.
"I think someone is in trouble," he sent to both Eight and Six and Kyra.

Six glanced between his brother and the other man. If I knew who she was and why she was following me, I don't think I'd be quite so concerned, he answered. He frowned at the lack of response they were giving him; obviously his brother and the man were close. It wasn't normal for two strangers to hug during this time.
I also don't know where he went, but you're right. He was in a hurry, he acknowledged. He turned to the woman and raised his eyebrows. "If you're going to follow me around, you can at least introduce yourself."
"I already told you my name is Jane Doe," Susan responded with a curtsy. "Pleasure to meet you," she told Eight with a smile.
He looked at his brother as the message was sent out about someone being in trouble. It's the man we were talking to earlier. See? People in boring clothes always land themselves in trouble. Now, are you going to answer my question about who this man is or not?

Eight mentally kicked himself. Of course Tyler was correct about the college thing, he wasn't thinking straight at all. He gave a sigh and relented, hoping this encounter wouldn't turn out as vexing as the others had.
Oh very well, I'm YOU! he sent to his Sixth self. Or rather, you're ME. Whichever you prefer! To Susan he smiled and gave a slight bow. "Pleasure to meet you, Miss Doe. Or is it Ms now? I do get confused with titles.
To Tyler: People can't help but get into trouble when I'm around, it seems. It would be refreshing to find out I'm not at the cause this time.

Well, it seems my good looks only deteriorate as I get older, he lamented. She's lying about her name. I hate false names, well, when they're spoken to me, he amended.
Susan tilted her head at the line of questioning. "I don't understand the question, sir. I was once married, but now I'm a widow," she answered quietly.

Deteriorating looks? Eighth bristled a bit but calmed himself with an effort. This wasn't the place nor the time. Why did meeting up with himself always ended up in a clash? Look, we can abuse ourselves later but right now we should see just what is going on here. It can't be good. To Susan he said "I'm sorry, may I offer my condolences? It must be very hard for you." 'It's plain to see my Sixth self never learned proper manners, he thought to himself. He sent a quick message to Tyler and his former persona If she's using a false name she must be hiding something. Would it tie in with that chap leaving the party in such a hurry?

Tyler hadn't realized that Eight had revealed who he was to Six. So he answered Six out loud, "He's a friend that I met on another planet while doing my job. I worked closely with him....didn't think that I would see him again."
He sent to Six, "Why don't you just ask her why she's following you?"
Tyler sent to Eight, "Yeah....well....it probably was the man that I was talking to earlier...so not you. I wouldn't know.....perhaps she is tied to that man....but I wouldn't know"
