The Hunter stared at this man who had just identified himself as "the Doctor." Could it really be his brother...his twin? If so, it would have to be a regeneration of him that he'd never met before...probably a future regeneration.
But that wasn't likely. He probably didn't mean that he was THE Doctor, but rather a doctor. Two Doctors in the same place seemed unlikely. Still, he couldn't help but glance in Six's direction.
Recovering from the slight shock of it, Tyler added, "Oh.....I see....so you are a doctor, then. Pleasure to meet you....my name is Tyler...and this is my girlfriend....." he swallowed before pronouncing the ugly name that his brother had chosen for her. "Gertrude." He figured that they should be consistent with the alias, although he didn't like it ...not at all.
He glanced up at the mention of the Queen's entrance. ________________ Ten heard the muttering and the sudden quiet in the room. Knowing what it probably meant, he commented out loud very quietly, "Oh...no, no, no, no...." However, since he was dressed very differently from the last time he had met the Queen, perhaps she wouldn't notice him...if he only kept quiet.

She could feel with her fingertips the slowing pulse that thrummed within his veins as the guardsman's eyes began to roll back, his skin growing ashen and still. It was then that the woman returned fully to the present, her strange blood lust sated evidently as the cool logic that normally presided over her returned.
The silken collar of her gown was torn and faintly bloodied, and there was now a corpse in plain sight in the middle of the hall. Survival instincts rose to the forefront of her consciousness as the woman rose to her feet, her lean arms reaching forward to grasp the guard by the shoulders, his body now becoming cold and utterly limp as she dragged him towards what appeared to be a small laundry hatch. This was a terribly conceived manner of disposal, but the huntress needed less than half an hour to hopefully glean something of use from this expedition.
It took a bit of work to get the corpse through the chute entrance, the torso being the difficult bit, but after the body began to tip on through Issildia abated from her efforts as she heard a strange hush fall over the otherwise constant murmuring from the ball room below.
Someone of great importance had arrived, and only one figure came to mind as Issildia's features tensed in an urgency to get back down to the lower chamber. She would gamble that in time the Doctor would eventually be noticed by her majesty; and Issildia did not intend to be dragging him out of some filthy British prison in the near future.
The low heeled boots clicked against the gleaming tiled floors as she tore down the steps leading back down into the ball room.

Tyler took notice of a woman who he wasn't sure if he had seen earlier. Something seemed off about her -- but he wasn't quite certain of what it was. It almost seemed as though she was determined to do something or be somewhere. Something about her almost looked ruthless as well.
Hoping that he wouldn't have to talk to her, he glanced back at Eight, waiting for an answer from him.

Eight had also noticed the entrance of the woman he had been talking to earlier. He frowned, for some reason there seemed to be something different about her. It wasn't her clothes, or her hair but the whole picture that reminded him of a sated leopard. He shook his head lsightly, telling himself not to have such ridiculous thoughts.
"Oh yes, yes, Getrude. I'm pleased to meet you. Interesting name, Gertrude. Old german name meaning 'Strong Spear'. I once met a charming actress with that name, a Gertrude Lawrence." As he talked his eyes stayed on the one who had told him her name was 'Alice Trevena'. 'I doubt that is your true name,' he murmured.

Even though the room was quiet, Tyler became more and more curious about this man who had called himself the Doctor. Did humans refer to themselves in this way? The only one that he knew who did was his brother.
But if this man was the Doctor -- it would have to be a regeneration that he hadn't seen before, possibly a future one. However, if it was a future one, why didn't this version of the Doctor recognize him? He couldn't claim that his brother had never seen him in this regeneration before, as Six's looming figure proved otherwise. He had come here with Six.
Had the Doctor forgotten all about him...his own twin? A few tears started to roll down his face, although he hadn't wanted them to. Did he matter that little to his brother?
He decided to speak to this man again, just to get some clarification. Maybe it wasn't his brother.
"Are you human?" Tyler asked decided to ask him. "And if not...what species are you?"
He hoped that the Doctor wouldn't notice his tears.

"Hm? Human? I....well." Eight decided to just forge ahead. "All right, no, I'm not. I'm a Time Lord. Bit hard to explain but...d'you know, I feel as if we've met somewhere before. Have we?" He looked more intensely at the young man. "Are you all right?"

At hearing the words that this really was the Doctor, Tyler appeared crestfallen.
Perhaps this was simply a different regeneration....one that was before Six that he just hadn't met. Still crying a bit, he asked Eight, "Maybe you know my friend....wearing fashionable clothing.....coat with lots of colors....do you know him?"
Tyler pointed in the general direction of Six.
In case this was a previous regeneration, Tyler didn't want to let it be known that Six was the Doctor. He would use it as a test. If this man knew Six, then he would know the version of the Doctor he was talking to was a later regeneration of the Doctor. If he didn't know Six, then he would be a previous regeneration. However, he wouldn't be spoiling anything for the Doctor.
___________ Ten glanced around at Six and then said to him. "You must excuse me...."
To Susan he sent, "Keep an eye on this gentlemen...the one in the multi-colored coat. I need to get out of here, and fast...."
Ten needed to leave before he was recognized by the Queen. So as not to draw attention to himself, he started to back away slowly towards one of the side doors.

(Sage hasn't been on in almost month now. We can work him back into the story if/when he comes back. I think we can continue on with the story for now. I don't want this to be on hiatus forever)

Eight gave a cough. "Yes, I do know him. In fact he happens to be me, some years back. Or was it centuries? I've had a bit of a rough time since and my memory seems to have holes in places. But I do hope you don't hold his fashion sense against me."
He eyed the colorful character in the manner an older brother might of a younger sibling who insisted on foolish behavior. "Whatever possessed me to wear such an outfit I can't fathom. It must have been a phase I was going through, perhaps to try and establish myself different from my previous life. Which, as I recall, wasn't all that bad. I wasn't ginger but at least the nose was acceptable!"

When Tyler heard Eight's response, he stood there, not saying anything for a while.
He thought to himself, "So it is true....he has forgotten me...his own brother...."
Tyler then nodded and then spoke out loud. "Hmm...well I'm traveling with him...my girlfriend and I....we must be only short acquaintances, traveling with you once, and for a very, very brief period of time," he couldn't help saying it with a slight bitterness in his voice."
This wasn't the first time that he was actually mad at his brother. The fact that he'd been forgotten by his own twin cut him deeply.
"I don't mind his fashion," Tyler replied. "After all...he...you...said it was fashionable for humans."

"As you can see, some humans don't exactly regard him as fashionable either!" Eight pointed to the people around the Sixth's figure, disapproval clear on their faces. "Still I recall other peoples' opinions never really bothered me. After all, what others think of you really is none of your business, is it? I've lived true to that ever since I left Gallifrey."
He turned to study Tyler a bit closer. "I seem to have the feeling our aquaintance went a bit more than mere companions. I'm sure I know you from somewhere. You've regenerated, right?"
It was then he noticed Ten's hasty but careful retreat. "Well, wonder what's on with that chap. Wasn't he with you?"

Tyler watched the faces of those around Six. This version of the Doctor was right, most people...in fact almost everyone showed great disapproval for Six's clothing.
Tyler stared at the Doctor and then replied to him, anger still evident in his voice, "I am a Time Lord as well.....yes.....but I am the same regeneration that I was when I traveled with him," he nodded at Six. "This isn't my first regeneration, but I'm from your Six self's time period on Gallifrey. Perhaps I have regenerated since then, in your time period. I don't know.....since I'm not from that era. I hope I'm still alive in your time period...." Tyler glanced at the Doctor, worry showing on his face.
Tyler glanced at Ten and answered Eight's question. "Well, he didn't come with me, exactly. He isn't from Gallifrey....your Sixth self and I and my girlfriend talked to him. So, yes, we were with him at the party, but not because we knew him before. I hardly know him...we just introduced ourselves to each other...says his name is David. We talked to him for a bit, nothing really important....but he is the first human that I talked to. It does look like something has gotten into him, though.....maybe your Sixth version scared him off."
Tyler glanced back at Eight. So the Doctor had finally recognized him as a Time Lord, but did he know which Time Lord yet?

The Doctor looked intently at the man then suddenly memories began flooding back into some of the vacant spaces of his mind. Memories of..home...of a father...small house on a hillside...playing with....his brother!
Tears welled up in his eyes. "Tylerelrug," he whispered. "Tylerelrug, is it you? Really you? After all this time?"

Tyler glanced at his brother, seeing the tears and finally the recognition.
All he could do was nod, as tears were welling up in his own eyes. He had finally be recognized. The disturbing part was that his brother had seemed to really have forgotten him. Was he to die sometime before whatever version of the Doctor he was now facing?
"Am I....am I dead in your time period?" Tyler finally asked the Doctor.

"I....I don't know," Eight tried blinking away the tears but failing. "There was some trauma, damage to my brain, the TARDIS somehow wiped parts of it out, to prevent my going mad, I suppose. But to lose the memory of you! I..." He hurridly drew out a handkerchief to wipe his eyes. Replacing it he swallowed hard. This sudden reunion was almost too much for him to bear!
