The Doctor waited until they had exited the TARDIS then he quickly locked it. He wasn't sure that they weren't being watched and if the council decided to they could find a key that would unlock his own machine. Hopefully they were too busy arguiung within themselves to think of the motion. Pocketing the key and for some reason feeling a bit lighter in spirit he rejoined Kyra and Tyler.
"Now then, a cover story. We probably have some relatives faintly related to us but I haven't the notion of just whom it would be. I'm certain there are also those who would love to toss -me- in there as well." He paused a moment, considering the idea then rejected it. "No, I think it would be best if we just did a quick visit."

Tyler nodded, "It wouldn't have to be a relative....could be a friend, you know. Just someone that we'd been thinking about and wanted to check up on."
"Anybody except the Mentalist....he's not exactly my friend." He made a face of disgust, totally disliking the Time Lord he had just mentioned.

"Hmmm," the Doctor rubbed his chin. "Wasn't there a teacher at the acadamy that had to be...ah...interred because he suddenly started spouting off stuff about his being given great secrets from the Eternals? He had almost every student in his class writing these huge essays about Omega and how he was going to return. Caused quite a stir in the teachers' lounge, I recall. What was his name again? I wasn't one of his students but I could always play the role."

Tyler glanced back at his twin and shrugged, "I......I really don't know much about that. I never had him either....um....I think it might have been Falsdelireludarejyfulceal?"
Tyler grinned. If his brother pretended to have known this professor, perhaps that could be their way inside. "That's brilliant....let's try to steer clear of the patients with multiple personality disorder, if possible."

"Falsdelireludarejyfulceal, Falsdelireludarejyfulceal, yes, that sounds about right." The Doctor walked on a bit, repeating the name under his breath as he tried to remember the professor. He had been one of the younger but up-and-coming teachers in the acadamy but rumors were being spread about him almost as soon as the first week of classes ended. Rumors about certain forbidden books being in his care, routine days of abscence when he wouldn't give anyone a straight answer as to where he had been, then the odd essays he assigned. The Doctor in truth hadn't been in any of that teacher's classes but he did hear the rumors and looked over a friend's work who did happen to attend them. He had simply laughed and sympathized with his friend over the assignment but had no idea how serious it had become.
"Has he ever regenerated at all?" he asked Tyler. "Or is he still basically the same? I suppose regeneration while in the mental hospital would be severly suppressed."

Tyler shrugged at his brother's question. "Oh, I really wouldn't know.....I....I never have been to the mental hospital." Several shivers went up his spine as he thought of going there. He imagined thousands of Mentalists running around, trying to hurt him. He knew that not all the mental patients were the same. He also knew that even the ones with the same diagnosis as the Mentalist weren't all dangerous.
"But I suppose that would be accurate....couldn't have Mental patients regenerating all the time and causing havoc...they would be even more confused than when they came in....though if they really did physically die or something....their bodies would regenerate...unless they didn't have the capacity in their mind to choose to regenerate. I heard...though I don't know anyone personally....that a Time Lord can refuse to regenerate and just die."
Tyler shivered at the thought of that, although he secretly hoped that the Mentalist would be one who would choose not to regenerate.

Kyra kept with them, following a bit absent-mindedly. Her mind was on what was going on, but not outside herself. What was this storm? Who was the person that the eighth Doctor saw in her memory that the storm wanted to desperately to keep them from seeing? How could they possibly figure out what to do about this?

Tyler glanced at the Doctor, "So did you want to start at the mental hospital or talking with the common people?"
Tyler liked the idea of talking with common people -- although he had been considered low class growing up, he was still in a respected class -- well, in compariosn to the commeners, that is.

"Let's start out by the simpliest route, merely wandering in with the people of the suburbs. Kyra may like to look at some of the fabrics or clothing shops and then we'll just seek out a small cafe and listen to the gathering gossip."
The Doctor was looking forward to the cafe, some of his best ideas and clues had sprung from such sources. "Have either of you tried the Tylinian wines yet? They're rather refreshing."

Tyler nodded at his brother, offering a smile.
"Good...maybe we won't have to go to the mental institution."
At the mention of the Tylinian wines, Tyler shook his head. "No, I don't usually drink much...but it sounds good...."
He glanced at his wife to see whether or not the Doctor's plan sounded good to her. "Of course, we may not find out anything....if this was planted in Kyra's head by someone....they may not have planted it in anyone else's...."

Kyra shook her head. "I haven't tried any either." She looked at Tyler as she held onto him. She just wanted for it to be over and for to feel somewhat normal. "I agree with Tyler."

Tyler added, "Maybe what is going on in Kyra's head has something to do with the spying and whatnot that you were discussing with the General......I'd like to know what is going on with Gallifrey right now. Talking to the people might help, as they are sure to have seen something."
He continued to hold his wife's hand.

(Sorry, felt really yucky yesterday. Whatever Ten had must be catching ) The Doctor looked about as they walked along, taking in the sights, yet as he enjoyed the huslte and bustle of the shops and streets he couldn't help but notice something. Everything -seemed- normal but there was something in the eyes of the shoppers, the way they darted about as if constantly checking for something they didn't want to see. He did a sideways lean towards Tyler. "Have you noticed it? There seems to be some sort of tension about, as if they were all trying to cover up or hide something. And there's fewer people about."

"It's probably about what's going on," Kyra said. "A lot of talk is going around about the possibility of political tension." She looked around at everyone, wondering if that was how she looked when she had her moods. "Something big is going to happen and everyone can sense it. Not knowing what it is leaves them uneasy."
