Blood. Death. So many...so many dead. Never to return.
He pulled on an old, tattered longcoat, lined with stripes. It looked out of place with his old, worn Fez and bowtie. But he was honoring his past incarnations. It couldn't be helped.
But he survived. Over and over again, over the long ages, he survived.
He stepped out of his TARDIS. Almost immediately, his longcoat began flapping in the wind. and there they stood. an army of his greatest foes. The Sontarans. The Cybermen. The Atraxi. And so many others...Blowfish, Chelonians, Daleks, Draconians, Drahvins, Haemogoth, Hoix, Judoon, Nestene Consciousness, Autons, Roboforms, Silurians, Slitheen, Sycorax, Terileptils, Uvodni, Weevils, Zygons...They were his greatest foes. They were...The Alliance.
The Alliance to kill the Doctor. The ones that had once trapped him in the Pandorica. The ones sworn to kill him. To pay the ultimate price.
"HEl-LO, ladies, Cybermen, and Daleks of all ages!!" He yelled, using his Sonic to amplify his voice to the army.
"This is The Doctor speaking!!!"
He twirled on the spot, dancing like a maniac.
"Before we begin..anybody have a Jammie Dodger? Got a Jelly Baby? No? Can't be helped then!"
Gallifrey...gone now...Gallifrey so mighty...
"So..a great, big army, all ready to do off with me??"
So many...so many dead...over all the long, long years..
"Thousands of ships, surrounding the Sol system. Their guns, all trained at this place. Oh, well. We'll just have to do something about that, won't we?"
Even as he spoke, the thousands of ships in the sky exploded, leaving only one still standing...or flying as the case may be.
He glanced up at the sky, sadness glancing across his face for a second.
"OK. Now see this?" He held up his sonic, showing The Alliance a red button, beeping earnestly.
"A great. Big. Button. And if there is one thing I will always, always do.."
The Doctor tossed his fez into the air. Members of the Alliance began to reach for their weapons.
"..it is PRESS. THE. BUTTON!!!"
5 Days Earlier...
The Doctor poked his head out of his TARDIS, sniffed, and walked out.
"Well come on, Amy. We haven't got forever, you know.."

Amy hustled out the TARDIS door, letting it lock behind her.
"Sorry..." she muttered. "I couldn't find me mobile, an' then I remembered wot happened tha last time I let ye go on ahead while I scoured tha TARDIS fer my stupid phone..." Amy explained, referencing the Appalachia incident. "So then, I decided ta give up an' hurry on out here... An' ye know wot? The stupid thing was my coat pocket!" Amy concluded pulling an alabaster hand out from the coat's pocket with the cell phone in its grip.
"Anyway... Where we at, then?" she asked, peering around.

Ginny was walking around, bored, when she heard a strange wooshing sound. Curious, and looking for something to do, she turned the corner and saw a large blue box. She took a few steps closer and was immediately confused.
"Police box?" She whispered, "I saw a photo of my mum near one of these, but that was nearly 50 years ago..."
It must be a museum showcase of some kind, yeah? She thought.
But then she saw a man open the door and step out, followed by a ginger woman a few seconds later. She was so confused - what were they doing in there, and how did they both fit? Intrigued, she skipper over to them.
"Hey!" She addressed the ginger woman, "I'm Ginny... Who are you two? And what's with the old police box?"

The Doctor turned to Amy. "London, 2012. The 2012 Summer Olympic Games. You could wait a year back in your time, but what's the fun in that. But whatever you do, don't interact with anyone you know."
He smiled, then fixed his fez, which was leaning slightly to the left.
A minute later a woman ran up to them. Almost immediately, she began blurting questions at Amy with rapid-fire speed.
"Hey! I'm Ginny... Who are you two? And what's with the old police box?"
The Doctor looked at Ginny and grinned.
"I am The Doctor. Just the Doctor, nothing more, nothing less. And this is Amy. Amy Pond. And the box is my..."
The Doctor paused, not sure how to explain the TARDIS.
"It's my parade float."

Ginny was stunned. The man who had replied was very...odd. He was wearing a fez, and had on a bow-tie! Still, there was a certain...coolness about him. A coolness she hadn't seen in Scotland. Or England, for that matter.
"Nice to meet you, 'the Doctor'. Is that a nickname or a title? And hey, Amy. I like that name. I like your hair, too! I wish I could've been ginger! Not fair, almost all of my family was ginger."
Her eyes narrowed upon hearing the words 'parade float'.
"Look, I'm 17, not 7. I'm not stupid enough to believe that it's a parade float. Besides, why would you even have one here? The Olympics aren't even for another month!"
She turned to Amy, "So, where are you from, then?"

Amy nodded her head and said, "No worries, Doctor. I'll be sure ta steer clear 'o anyone that I know - don't want ta create a paradox or anythin'," she agreed, pulling out a pair of sunglasses with wide, mirrored lenses - it was the best sort of disguise she could manage, especially after someone - a young, pretty blonde girl, to be specific - had already seen the two of them exit the TARDIS.
Introductions were made all around, and then The Doctor claimed that the TARDIS was a parade float.
"Look, I'm 17, not 7. I'm not stupid enough to believe that it's a parade float. Besides, why would you even have one here? The Olympics aren't even for another month!" the girl replied, not at all buying his story.
"Wait - wot? The Olympics don't start for another month, yet?" Amy asked, turning from Ginny to face The Doctor. "Guess we're a bit early, then..." she muttered, trying to hide her disappointment.
The fact that they had arrived about a month early didn't necessarily mean that the TARDIS screwed up. In fact, the TARDIS doesn't 'screw up' - she always brings The Doctor where he needs to go (even if it's not necessarily where he wants to go...)
But... Why here and now? What did the TARDIS think The Doctor needed to do or fix?
Ginny had asked Amy where she was from then, and rather than just come out and say 'Leadworth', Amy decided to be 'safe' with her answer.
Smiling, Amy replied, "Wot? Ye can't tell by me accent? I'm from Scotland." It wasn't a lie, though - Amy had indeed been born there before her folks moved to Leadworth.
"An' ye? Yer a Londoner, ya?"
