Physical Description: Appears around 25. 6"0. Has dark brown hair, and brown eyes. Constantly changes his hairstyle, stubble/beard combination and clothing. Presently, has short hair, with a tidy beard and matching 'tasche. Wears a dark blue t-shirt, a brown belt with silver buckle hidden under t-shirt, with medium blue colored jeans. Usually wears a pair of white and dark blue Vans (as in shoe make!) or black ones. Has various tattoo's, but doesn't look scary. Visible, when clothed, are his shoulder tattoo's, his lower arm tattoo and finger tattoo, while the others are hidden by clothing. Has two shoulder tattoo's, one on each, which, the majority, extends to half way down the upper arm. Tattoo's are old Thyrolian styles of art, ad shoulder ones are outlined black tribal style works, colored red. Lower arm tattoo is a simple back and white work, and is also tribal in style, located on the left forearm. His other, tattoo is located on his chest, and is also a black Thyrolian tribal design, but this is rarely seen. Often wears a black sweatband round his right wrist, for support, and a black watch on the left.
Personality: Douglas is a pleasant man, and is often seen as Gunman's polar opposite. (But, opposites attract, yes?) He is quiet, understanding and calm. He too is a man of knowledge, who spends most of his spare time either reading up on his professions, or spending time with Gunman. He can calm even the most frantic of situations, and has a steady hand. He is caring, and will try to help in any way possible, as long as it goes with his morals. He is modest, when talking of his professions. However, he is loyal and will protect those he loves. He can come across as quite threatening, when trying to protect, but tries not to do this too often. He can concentrate incredibly well for long periods and is a good strategist. He is one of the few men who can repair Gunman's arm, and the only one who can build one from scratch.
History: Douglas was not born to such a happy family. It consisted of; Mother, and elder half brother, various men he refused to call dad and later on, a younger half brother. During his cradle years, the majority of his care was not given by his mother or father, who had separated when he was born, instead by his elder half sibling, Ivan. It was not easy and the two often had tantrum at each other. In that time, various men who were to be called 'dad' came and went, and eventually a younger half sibling, Kirk. Each child had a different biological father, but treated each other like full brothers. In true Aubrecht style, both Douglas and Ivan raised Kirk, due to their mother lack of parental care.
Eventually, as Ivan started to go back to school, their mother took notice of her children and quickly sent Douglas to school also. It was then, he discovered his true forte, that being knowledge. He had an incredibly good memory and logic almost as quick as a computer processor. After all three children were at a school age, his studies became his main focus. Douglas was a quiet student, who kept with his friends and worked hard. It paid off, as he graduated school with some of the highest marks and then went onto a scholarship at the leading university in the eastern region.
It was then he studied medicine and bio technology alongside one another, ad found his true calling. He started a prototype of a mechanical arm, after meeting an amputee, and thus the idea was spawned. His work continued on the study of medicine/bio technology, the arm developing alongside. After his three year course, he became a surgeon and gained experience in the field. Yet, he could not get the medical approval of the government for his completed prototype of arm. He started to wonder just what was going on with the government, for them to ignore their health service like that, only to have the news slammed home a few weeks later.
The civil war begun and he was inundated with patients at the hospital. He wasn't returning home and was working horrendously long shifts, causing him to eventually burn himself out. He was then told to home, which then left him time to work on his project. But it wasn't long before the city he lived in was overrun by the opposition.
He too was forced to flee, but did not spend much time on the run. He was quick to find the refugee camp and set up home there. Douglas's project was then finished, the arm almost ready for use. He had been quite sure of his limbs capability, but had to wait for the right donor to some along. It was then that Ms. Rodriguez came onto the scene and thus his project was completed. The arm was attached and the two became close friends. The inevitable then happened, the two then becoming a couple. He had to (and still does) fix Gunman's arm constantly, due to the wear and tear of daily life.
He too then suffered from the camps capture, his scientific talent being put to 'good use'. He was asked to experiment on his fellow Thyrolians, with the vast amount of chemical and electrical equipment he had. He was threatened with starvation if the work was not carried out, and death if he refused. He took neither, but the results eventually broke him. He quickly turned into a nervous wreck, who spent most of his time suffering huge amounts of guilt, anger, hopelessness and stress. And often, he could barely talk, refusing to voice anything.
But he was saved by Gunman's valiant escape plan, his voice coming slowly back to him as his girlfriend did. He is one of her more faithful followers and tries his best to repay his people for the awful things he did to them.
He is the main 'thinker' of the group, who is asked to plan the raids and is never asked to attend them. His strategical skills show through well, and his surgical skills have been well utilized too. He often has to take care of the casualties after the raids, along with the other doctor in the block of flats. He is also employed at the local hospital, as the expert surgeon. He is not called up often, but when he is, the surgeries are long and complex. He does not enjoy these surgeries, and after, has excruciating headaches that can last for days. During these times, he often stays in his own flat in the dark, wishing no contact with anyone, as he often relives some of his past experiences during these times.
Douglas too has taken up residence in Gunman's block of flats, the one next door to her. The two are considering moving in with each other, but only after certain things have been sorted, like Gunman's smoking and drug problems. He is vigilant and tries to help her cope with her relapses. Douglas is seriously concerned with her current intake and other issues, causing them to both seek out therapy for their problems.
Additional medical information; Suffers from serious migraines, that can vary in strength. Non-Smoker. Not a drug user.
