Takes place on Earth in London, during 2009
Melody was two once more, like she was every night since the crash. She was taken from the wreckage, and watched, restrained, as the unconscious bodies of her parents were carried out as well. She never saw them again… She remembered waking up in some kind of cage in some sort of laboratory… The people in white coats came and started to probe her, poke her with needles, and do some horrible experiments on her. She was terrified and couldn’t control herself, so she constantly busted into a small flaming ball. At first, she didn’t know that is what the people in white coats wanted and they succeeded in their objective. It was when she heard them talk about dissecting her like they had done with the other specimen that she decided to escape. She had melted the cage she was locked in, and climbed into the air ducts to make her escape. She must have spent hours in that metal maze, until finally she found the grate that led out. As she ran from the building and property, she heard shouts of ’Get her! She must not escape!!’ as others chased her.
The redheaded teenager sat straight up, sweating the liquid that makes her so unique. She sighed as the nightmare-memory faded from her conscious thoughts. She swung her legs off her borrowed bed to land on the floor of her borrowed room. She was lucky to have found a room without too much questions asked, and at a reasonable price as well. She glanced at the clock that had hung up on the wall and noted that she was running a bit late for work. She hurried about her room throwing off her night clothes and throwing on the clothes she wears for her job. She flew out of her room through the kitchen and out the back door announcing her departure for work.
Melody ran all the way to the restaurant where she was a part-time waitress to pay for the room and other things she needed. It was only four blocks down the street. However when she got there the place was in chaos, the tables and chairs were knocked over and overturned. She ventured quietly into the establishment toward the back were the owner’s office was. So far she was lucky to not run into anyone along the way, but there was no telling if anyone was waiting for her when she got there. She was going to have to take her chances, and see if her boss was alright.
She found him, sitting in the mess that once was his organized office. She asked him what had happened, and he told her that military looking personal came looking for her. ’No! Not again! I liked it here! They’ve found me! I’ve got to go!’ She thought to herself and turned around to face the way she came. “George, I have to go. I will not be back… Goodbye.” She told the man and ran. She could feel the panic start to rise in her, and she knew what happens when that feeling gets too high. Things start to burn. She needed to find a safe, unused place to vent. She thought of the old abandoned construction site on the edge of the city, and ran straight for it. She hoped that she would make it in time, and if she did that some humans were not hanging around the place…

Brittany was walking down the road when she almost ran into a little girl who had been running the other way. Brittany threw out her hands and said, "Woah where's the fire?" The woman smiled gently at the little girl. She looked frightened and alone. "Where are your parents?" Brittany became concerned for the little girl's safety. Her dark hair fell over her shoulders and half her face. Brittany sensed something was wrong and she knew she had to help this little girl somehow. "What is your name sweetheart?"

Being that London was his favorite place to visit on Earth, the Doctor found himself once again parking his TARDIS in one of the many alleys. Perhaps a simple vacation was all that he needed, and he knew no place better than he knew London. It could almost be called his second home now...now that Gallifrey was gone. He found that he identified with humans more than any other species. London had also been the place his TARDIS had arrived the first time he had ever visited London.
The Time Lord opened the TARDIS doors a crack to get a feel for the weather. He had intended to arrive in London 2009, and taking a quick whiff of the air, he knew he had gotten it right. Grinning, he stepped out of the TARDIS, locking the doors behind him.
He started to walk, not really having had decided on a particular destination yet. It would be good just to be with humans again.

As Melody ran, she was stopped by a strange female who had threw out her hand to keep her from her destination. That was a mistake, as Melody was already frazzled and the sudden interruption only caused the teenager to go into survival mode. She slowly backed away so that she wouldn’t harm the woman intentionally. The first question out of the strange woman’s mouth was all she needed to loose her self control. The flammable liquid that made her special had already seeped onto her skin, the mention of fire had made her think about it. Her mind had sent the electrical spark along her skin, and she suddenly burst into flames.
At that time, she looked around her grateful that they were alone at that moment. She could feel the flames burn away her clothes and hoped that she could get somewhere where she could get another set to wear. She then heard the woman’s other questions, and she tried her hardest to keep from showing that she had miss her parents. ”I haven’t seen my parents since I was two. My name is Melody.” It was because of her experiences that she was now in flames and in self defense mode. Her species usually didn’t take up flames when threatened, so she answered the lady’s questions. ”Who are you and who do you work for? She asked, a bit on the defensive side not knowing the woman worked for an organization or institute that wanted her locked up.
(OOC: I'm guessing that the Doc hasn't arrived in the area yet, even though he had landed nearby.)

"I work for no one. I am a writer." She sensed that something was terribly wrong if the girl was running so quickly. Noises caught her attention and she saw some people that were not familar, "You running from them?" Brittany got the feeling that these people were not friendly. She would help this little girl if the people she was staring at were who the girl was running from. Brittany tensed waiting for an answer, but she felt like she already knew the answer. If the girl had not seen her parents since she was two then something was definately wrong here.

(Right...the Doctor is there, but hasn't gotten close enough until now) The Doctor continued to walk along when he saw a suspicious looking group of people who looked as though they were looking for someone, or chasing someone. They weren't the police, and the way that they carried themselves bothered him. He glanced around to see if he could see what they were chasing after, or more accurately, who they were chasing.
Trying not to look suspicious himself, he changed direction. He walked until he saw a woman and a teenager. It was the teenager that caused him to look a second time. There was something unusual about her -- but he couldn't quite identify it. The girl looked almost scared.
Approaching them, he asked, "Is everything all right here?"

Melody heard a group of people approach them, and her flames instinctively increased as her need for survival did. She turned to look at them, and attempted to back away when she saw them. ”Yes.” She answered the woman, even though her voice crackled like a fire. She began to look around for a quick way out, a way to escape. She was not going back to being a lab rat or experiment, she had already escaped them twice. Who was to know that they had learned their lesson and found a way to keep her from doing it a third time. In her mind of panic, she had caused a nearby gas line to explode next to her now apparent pursuers.
Soon her attention was focused on another man as he approached them, and without thinking she had made the Burger King across the street become engulfed in flames as someone had left the flame on in the oven. She was silently relieved that no one was inside. Since she had burned her clothes that she had on by now, she had decided to keep her full body flame going for decency reasons. When the newcomer male asked if everything was okay, she looked at him. She was standing in plan sight, aflame, and he asked if everything was alright?! She didn’t know what these people were thinking. She could easily kill them all, and they act like she wasn’t dangerous. ”No everything isn’t all right. They want to dissect me!” She answered the man in the same crackled voice and gestured to the group of people with their weapons drawn on her with a fiery hand.

The Doctor stared at the girl -- she was on fire, and most obviously not human. If they were going to dissect the girl because she was alien, they would certainly do the same to him. "Right, follow me!" he called to the girl and the woman that was with her. He didn't know if they were both alien, but he did know that they all needed to move quickly.
"I know somewhere safe...." He hoped that they would take his offer. The place he was thinking of was of course his TARDIS.

Brittany nodded and took the girl's hand, "Let's go Melody." Brittany would keep the girl safe even at the cost of her life. The woman had been horrified when Melody had said that the people would dissect her. Brittany hated it when people threatened the lives of others whether or not they were human or aliens. Brittany felt sorry for the girl and she would help protect her. She looked at the man and noticed that he looked familiar. "Do I know you from somewhere?" She asked him. Something about him was oddly familiar yet Brittany couldn't place her finger on it.
Her blue eyes looked back at the people and saw they were moving fast, "You know. Nevermind that. RUN!" Brittany gently shoved Melody forward in hopes to be a shield to the girl. Melody was a little safer now that she was farther ahead of the people. Brittany's legs began working their running magic. Memories flooded into her mind of her travels with a dear old friend. Brittany was sad that she had left, but she wasn't disappointed in the slightest.

When the people had spotted them, the Doctor began to run as well. "This way!" he yelled at the two females with him. It wasn't long before a blue police box came into view, which was, of course, his TARDIS. He took out his key in the midst of the running and pointed to it. "Inside, we'll be safe in there."
Finally reaching it, he unlocked the door and stepped inside. He glanced back at the two females. "Oh, come on..."

Brittany was little awkward about the tight space, but when she entered the blue box her jaw dropped and memories flooded her mind. She turned back to the man and said, "Y-you...." She never finished it. After she had left her friend a year ago she had buried her memories a little. Sure it had been fun, but she needed to live her life again. Then she whispered, "Doctor...."

The Doctor glanced back at Brittany. He had been identified by her and responded, "Yep, that's me..."
He glanced at the other girl, trying to read her reaction. He knew that most humans were a bit taken aback by the fact that the TARDIS was bigger on the inside....a lot bigger....and looked so other world like. He hoped that both females would trust him.

"Doctor don't you remember me?" Brittany's breath had escaped her. He had changed since the last time she had seen him. Brittany licked her lips and swallowed. He was handsome now as he had been when she first met him. Brittany shook her head. The Doctor was her friend and nothing more. The woman waited to see if the Doctor would remember her.

The Doctor thought for a few moments before nodding, "Oh Brittany.....how are you?" He'd met so many people in his long life that he sometimes had trouble remembering all of them. Eventually, he would remember them, though. It had been quite a while since he last had seen this particular individual.

Melody looked at the man who had offered her shelter, and nodded her fiery head in answer as she doused the flames that had engulfed her. Nothing was burned on her body, save for her clothes which were singed. Next thing she knew, was that the woman had grabbed her hand and pushed her forward, closer to the man. The woman was now between her and her pursuers. She felt bad that she had caused others to be drawn into her plight, but she was somewhat comforted by the fact that she wasn’t alone at that moment. Before she could dwell further upon that thought, the woman demanded that they run. She had no trouble following that instruction, and run she did. She followed the man that had offered her sanctuary.
When the destination came into view, she paused. She didn’t know how the three of them will fit into the little blue police box that the man disappeared into without hesitation. She waited for the woman to enter first, thinking that if there was no room for her at least the two of them will be safe and she will have to find a way to escape once again. She wouldn’t let the two of them to come to harm because of her.
Melody followed the two adults into the blue box, and paused briefly just inside the door. It was bigger on the inside, but she didn’t find it very surprising. She heard the people that were chasing her get closer, and she somehow knew that they wouldn’t be able to get inside. She turned around and shut the door, cutting her pursuers route to her. The small conversation that went on between the two adults didn’t register with her, but she did semi listen to them. The woman called the man Doctor, and something shifted inside her mind. She remembered her parents talk about a legend when the three of them were on their ship before they crashed on Earth. They told her that a man called the Doctor went around fixing things that needed to be fixed, and that he preferred Earth to visit in the whole universe. Of course the then told her that he was just a legend since he was suppose to be a Time Lord, of which were wiped out only a few years prior.
She then went into her room to study this Doctor and his supposed race. She had just finished the technology section of the study file on them when her ship crashed. ”So you really are a Time Lord. Thanks for helping me, I don’t know what I would have done if they actually got me strapped down on a table. I think that they had time to set up something to keep me this time…” She said to both of them. The conversation that she had half way listened to, told her that they two of them had know each other at one point.
